< Romans 7 >
1 Or don’t you know, brothers (for I speak to men who know the law), that the law has dominion over a man for as long as he lives?
Wenno saanyo kadi nga ammo, kakabsat, (ta agsasaoak kadagiti tattao a makaammo iti linteg), a ti linteg ti mangtengtengngel iti maysa a tao kabayatan nga agbibiag isuna?
2 For the woman that has a husband is bound by law to the husband while he lives, but if the husband dies, she is discharged from the law of the husband.
Ta inggalut ti linteg ti naasawaanen a babai iti asawana a lalaki kabayatan a sibibiag daytoy, ngem no matay ti asawana a lalaki, mawayawayaan isuna manipud iti linteg ti panagasawa.
3 So then if, while the husband lives, she is joined to another man, she would be called an adulteress. But if the husband dies, she is free from the law, so that she is no adulteress, though she is joined to another man.
Ngarud, kabayatan a sibibiag pay ti asawana a lalaki, no makitipon isuna iti sabali pay a lalaki, maawagan isuna a mannakikamalala a babai. Ngem no matay ti asawana a lalaki, nawaya isunan manipud iti linteg, isu a saan isuna a mannakikamalala no makitipon isuna iti sabali a lalaki.
4 Therefore, my brothers, you also were made dead to the law through the body of Christ, that you would be joined to another, to him who was raised from the dead, that we might produce fruit to God.
Ngarud kakabsatko, nagbalinkayo met a natay iti linteg babaen iti bagi ni Cristo. Daytoy ket tapno mabalinkayo a makitipon iti sabali, dayta ket, kenkuana a napagungar manipud iti patay tapno makapagbungatayo para iti Dios.
5 For when we were in the flesh, the sinful passions which were through the law worked in our members to bring out fruit to death.
Ta idi addatayo iti lasag, nariing ti managbasol a kalikagum kadagiti kamengtayo babaen iti linteg tapno makapagbunga iti ipapatay.
6 But now we have been discharged from the law, having died to that in which we were held; so that we serve in newness of the spirit, and not in oldness of the letter.
Ngem ita, nawayawayaantayon manipud iti linteg. Nataytayo iti dayta a nakatengngelantayo. Daytoy ket tapno makapagserbitayo iti kinabaro ti Espiritu, ken saan nga iti kinadaan iti surat.
7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? May it never be! However, I wouldn’t have known sin except through the law. For I wouldn’t have known coveting unless the law had said, “You shall not covet.”
Ania ngarud ti ibagatayo? Ti linteg kadi ket basol? Saan koma. Nupay kasta, saanko koma a naammoan ti basol, no saan a babaen iti linteg. Ta saanko koma a naammoan ti panagagum no saan nga imbaga ti linteg a, “Saanka nga agag-agum.”
8 But sin, finding occasion through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of coveting. For apart from the law, sin is dead.
Ngem innala ti basol ti gundaway babaen iti bilin ken pinaruarna amin a derrep nga adda kaniak. Ta iti kinaawan ti linteg, natay ti basol.
9 I was alive apart from the law once, but when the commandment came, sin revived and I died.
Iti naminsan, nagbiagak nga awan ti linteg, ngem idi immay ti bilin, nagbiag manen ti basol, ket natayak.
10 The commandment which was for life, this I found to be for death;
Nagbalin a patay kaniak ti bilin a mangiyumay koma iti biag.
11 for sin, finding occasion through the commandment, deceived me, and through it killed me.
Ta innala ti basol ti gundaway babaen iti bilin ket inallilawnak. Babaen iti bilin, pinataynak.
12 Therefore the law indeed is holy, and the commandment holy, righteous, and good.
Isu a nasantoan ti linteg, ken nasantoan, nalinteg ken nasayaat iti bilin.
13 Did then that which is good become death to me? May it never be! But sin, that it might be shown to be sin, was producing death in me through that which is good; that through the commandment sin might become exceedingly sinful.
Ngarud, nagbalin kadi a patay kaniak ti nasayaat? Saan koma. Ngem ti basol, tapno maipakita a basol daytoy babaen iti nasayaat, inyegna kaniak ti ipapatay. Daytoy ket tapno babaen iti bilin, maipakita a ti basol ket basol a saan a marukod.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am fleshly, sold under sin.
Ta ammotayo a naespirituan ti linteg, ngem addaak iti lasag. Nailakoak iti pannakatagabu iti basol.
15 For I don’t understand what I am doing. For I don’t practise what I desire to do; but what I hate, that I do.
Ta ti ar-aramidek, pudno a saanko a maawatan. Ta ti kayatko nga aramiden, saanko a maaramid, ken ti kagurgurak, isu ti ar-aramidek.
16 But if what I don’t desire, that I do, I consent to the law that it is good.
Ngem no aramidek ti diak kayat, umanamongak iti linteg a nasayaat ti linteg.
17 So now it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
Ngem ita, saanen a siak ti mangar-aramid, ngem ti basol nga agnanaed kaniak.
18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.
Ta ammok a saan nga agnaed kaniak ti kabaelan nga agaramid iti nasayaat a banbanag, dayta ket iti lasagko. Ta adda kaniak ti tarigagay para iti pagimbagan, ngem diak maaramid.
19 For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practise.
Ta saanko nga ar-aramiden ti nasayaat a kayatko, ngem ti dakes a diak kayat, dayta ti ar-aramidek.
20 But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
Ita, no aramidek ti diak koma kayat nga aramiden, ket saanen a siak ti mangar-aramid, ngem ketdi, ti basol nga agnanaed kaniak.
21 I find then the law that, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
Natakuatak ngarud a ti pagannurotan nga adda kaniak ket kayatko nga aramiden ti nasayaat, ngem iti kinapudnona ket dakes ti adda kaniak.
22 For I delight in God’s law after the inward person,
Ta agrag-oak iti linteg ti Dios babaen iti akin-uneg a kinatao.
23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
Ngem makitak ti naidumduma a pagannurotan kadagiti paset ti bagik. Busbusorenna dayta a baro a pagannurotan iti nakemko. Pagbalbalinennak a balud babaen iti pagannurotan ti basol nga adda kadagiti paset ti bagik.
24 What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
Nakakaasiak a lalaki! Siasino ti mangispal kaniak manipud iti daytoy a bagi ti patay?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, sin’s law.
Ngem agyamanak iti Dios babaen kenni Jesu-Cristo nga Apotayo! Ngarud, agserserbiak iti linteg ti Dios iti nakemko. Nupay kasta, babaen iti lasag, pagserserbiak ti pagannurotan ti basol.
