Numbers 1

1 The LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the Tent of Meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

Yavé habló a Moisés en el Tabernáculo de Reunión cuando estaban en el desierto de Sinaí, el día primero del mes segundo, en el segundo año de su salida de la tierra de Egipto:

2 “Take a census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, every male, one by one,

Toma un censo de toda la congregación de los hijos de Israel según sus familias de acuerdo con sus casas paternas, según el número de nombres, todo varón, cabeza por cabeza,

3 from twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go out to war in Israel. You and Aaron shall count them by their divisions.

de 20 años arriba, todo el que pueda salir a la guerra en Israel. Tú y Aarón los contarán por sus escuadrones,

4 With you there shall be a man of every tribe, each one head of his fathers’ house.

y un varón de cada tribu, cada uno jefe de su casa paterna, estará con ustedes.

5 These are the names of the men who shall stand with you: Of Reuben: Elizur the son of Shedeur.

Estos son los nombres de los varones que estarán con ustedes: De la tribu de Rubén: Elisur, hijo de Sedeur.

6 Of Simeon: Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.

De Simeón: Selumiel, hijo de Zurisadai.

7 Of Judah: Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

De Judá: Naasón, hijo de Aminadab.

8 Of Issachar: Nethanel the son of Zuar.

De Isacar: Natanael, hijo de Suar.

9 Of Zebulun: Eliab the son of Helon.

De Zabulón: Eliab, hijo de Helón.

10 Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim: Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh: Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.

De los hijos de José: de Efraín, Elisama, hijo de Amiud, de Manasés: Gamaliel, hijo de Pedasur.

11 Of Benjamin: Abidan the son of Gideoni.

De Benjamín: Abidán, hijo de Gedeoni.

12 Of Dan: Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

De Dan: Ahiezer, hijo de Amisadai.

13 Of Asher: Pagiel the son of Ochran.

De Aser: Pagiel, hijo de Ocrán.

14 Of Gad: Eliasaph the son of Deuel.

De Gad: Eliasaf, hijo de Dehuel.

15 Of Naphtali: Ahira the son of Enan.”

De Neftalí: Ahira, hijo de Enán.

16 These are those who were called of the congregation, the princes of the tribes of their fathers; they were the heads of the thousands of Israel.

Estos fueron los designados de entre la congregación, representantes de las tribus de sus antepasados y jefes de los millares de Israel.

17 Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.

Moisés y Aarón tomaron a estos varones que fueron designados por nombre,

18 They assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they declared their ancestry by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, one by one.

y reunieron a toda la asamblea el día primero del mes segundo. Se registraron según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba.

19 As the LORD commanded Moses, so he counted them in the wilderness of Sinai.

Como Yavé ordenó a Moisés, así los contaron en el desierto de Sinaí.

20 The children of Reuben, Israel’s firstborn, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

En cuanto a los hijos de Rubén, primogénito de Israel, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

21 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Reuben, were forty-six thousand and five hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Rubén fueron 46.500.

22 Of the children of Simeon, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, those who were counted of it, according to the number of the names, one by one, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Simeón, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

23 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Simeón fueron 59.300.

24 Of the children of Gad, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Gad, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

25 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Gad, were forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

los contados de la tribu de Gad fueron 45.650.

26 Of the children of Judah, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Judá, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

27 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Judah, were seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Judá fueron 74.600.

28 Of the children of Issachar, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Isacar, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

29 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Issachar, were fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Isacar fueron 54.400.

30 Of the children of Zebulun, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Zabulón, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

31 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Zabulón fueron 57.400.

32 Of the children of Joseph: of the children of Ephraim, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de José, por los hijos de Efraín, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

33 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Ephraim, were forty thousand and five hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Efraín fueron 40.500.

34 Of the children of Manasseh, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Manasés, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

35 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Manasseh, were thirty-two thousand and two hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Manasés fueron 32.200.

36 Of the children of Benjamin, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Benjamín, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

37 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Benjamin, were thirty-five thousand and four hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Benjamín fueron 35.400.

38 Of the children of Dan, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Dan, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

39 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Dan, were sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Dan fueron 62.700.

40 Of the children of Asher, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

De los hijos de Aser, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

41 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Asher, were forty-one thousand and five hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Aser fueron 41.500.

42 Of the children of Naphtali, their generations, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war:

Los hijos de Neftalí, según su genealogía, sus familias, sus casas paternas y conforme a la cuenta de sus nombres cabeza por cabeza, todos los varones de 20 años arriba, todos los aptos para la guerra,

43 those who were counted of them, of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

los contados de la tribu de Neftalí fueron 53.400.

44 These are those who were counted, whom Moses and Aaron counted, and the twelve men who were princes of Israel, each one for his fathers’ house.

Tales fueron los contados que registraron Moisés y Aarón, juntamente con los 12 representantes de Israel, uno por cada casa paterna.

45 So all those who were counted of the children of Israel by their fathers’ houses, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go out to war in Israel—

Todos los contados de los hijos de Israel según sus casas paternas, de 20 años arriba, todos los que en Israel podían salir a la guerra,

46 all those who were counted were six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not counted amongst them.

Pero los levitas, según la tribu de sus antepasados, no fueron contados con ellos,

48 For the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

pues Yavé habló a Moisés:

49 “Only the tribe of Levi you shall not count, neither shall you take a census of them amongst the children of Israel;

Solamente no contarás a la tribu de Leví, ni los censarás entre los hijos de Israel.

50 but appoint the Levites over the Tabernacle of the Testimony, and over all its furnishings, and over all that belongs to it. They shall carry the tabernacle and all its furnishings; and they shall take care of it, and shall encamp around it.

Sino encargarás a los levitas el Tabernáculo del Testimonio, todos sus utensilios y todo lo que le pertenece. Ellos cargarán el Tabernáculo y todos sus utensilios. Lo atenderán y acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo.

51 When the tabernacle is to move, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be set up, the Levites shall set it up. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

Cuando el Tabernáculo tenga que trasladarse, los levitas lo desmontarán, y cuando se detenga, los levitas lo armarán. El extraño que se acerque morirá.

52 The children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, according to their divisions.

Los hijos de Israel acamparán cada uno en su campamento junto a su estandarte, conforme a sus ejércitos.

53 But the Levites shall encamp around the Tabernacle of the Testimony, that there may be no wrath on the congregation of the children of Israel. The Levites shall be responsible for the Tabernacle of the Testimony.”

Pero los levitas acamparán alrededor del Tabernáculo del Testimonio para que no venga la ira sobre la congregación de los hijos de Israel. Los levitas custodiarán el Tabernáculo del Testimonio.

54 Thus the children of Israel did. According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so they did.

Y los hijos de Israel hicieron todo lo que Yavé ordenó a Moisés. Así hicieron.
