< John 1 >
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
MASAN kotier ni tapi o, a masan kotier ren Kot, a masan me udan Kot.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
I me kotikot ren Kot ni tapi o.
3 All things were made through him. Without him, nothing was made that has been made.
I me dipisou karos tapi kidar, o sota man meakot mia, me kaidin i kotin wiadar.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
Maur mi re a; o iei maur o marain en aramas.
5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it.
A marain o me dakarada rotorot, a rotorot sota lingan kila.
6 There came a man sent from God, whose name was John.
Aramas amen me pakadarador sang ren Kot ad a Ioanes!
7 The same came as a witness, that he might testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
I me pwara dong kadede, pwen kadede marain o pwe karos en poson pweki i.
8 He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.
Kaidin i me marain o, a a kin kadede marain o.
9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
Iei marain melel, me pwara dong sappa, ap kamaraini aramas karos.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, and the world didn’t recognise him.
I me kotier sappa, o i me sappa tapi kidar, a sappa sasa i.
11 He came to his own, and those who were his own didn’t receive him.
A koti dong udan sapwilim a, a sapwilim a kan me san i.
12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God’s children, to those who believe in his name:
Karos, me kasamo i, a kotiki ong ir manaman, en wiala seri en Kot, ir, me poson mar a,
13 who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
Me kaidin ipwidi sang nta, de inong en uduk, de inong en ol o, pwe ipwidier sang ren Kot.
14 The Word became flesh and lived amongst us. We saw his glory, such glory as of the only born Son of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Masan me wia uduk ala o kotikot re atail, o kitail kilanger a lingan, lingan dueta lingan en Ieros eu sang ren Sam o, me dir en mak melel.

Ioanes me kadede i ngil laudeda indada: Iei i, me i padaki wei: Me pan kotido mur i, iei me mier mo i, pwe a kotikotier mo i.
16 From his fullness we all received grace upon grace.
Pwe kitail karos ale sang nan audepa a mak sapan potopot.
17 For the law was given through Moses. Grace and truth were realised through Jesus Christ.
Pwe kapung me kokido sang Moses, a mak o melel sang Iesus Kristus.
18 No one has seen God at any time. The only born Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, has declared him.
Sota me kilanger Kot kokodo, Ol ieros ta, me kin kotikot pan kupur en Sam o, i me kotin kasaledar i.
19 This is John’s testimony, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

21 They asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the prophet?” He answered, “No.”

22 They said therefore to him, “Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?”

Irail ap idok re a indada: Da me komui wia paptaisiki, ma komui kaidin Kristus, o kaidin Elias, o pil kaidin saukop o?
26 John answered them, “I baptise in water, but amongst you stands one whom you don’t know.

28 These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptising.

33 I didn’t recognise him, but he who sent me to baptise in water said to me, ‘On whomever you will see the Spirit descending and remaining on him is he who baptises in the Holy Spirit.’
