Acts 11
1 Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
೧ಅನ್ಯಜನರು ಸಹ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸಿದರೆಂಬ ಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲರೂ ಯೂದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಹೋದರರೂ ಕೇಳಿದರು.
2 When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
೨ಪೇತ್ರನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಸುನ್ನತಿಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು;
3 saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!”
೩“ನೀನು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿ ಅವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಊಟಮಾಡಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ” ಎಂದು ಅವನ ಕೂಡ ವಾದಿಸಿದರು.
4 But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
೪ಪೇತ್ರನು ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೊದಲಿಂದ ಕ್ರಮವಾಗಿ ವಿವರಿಸಿ,
5 “I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
೫ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ; “ನಾನು ಯೊಪ್ಪ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಧ್ಯಾನಪರವಶನಾಗಿದ್ದ ನನಗೆ ಒಂದು ದರ್ಶನವಾಯಿತು” ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ನಾಲ್ಕು ಮೂಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಜೋಳಿಗೆಯಂತಿರುವ ಒಂದು ವಸ್ತುವು ನಾನಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದಿತು.
6 When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
೬ಅದೇನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಅದನ್ನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳು, ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಳು, ಹರಿದಾಡುವ ಕ್ರಿಮಿಕೀಟಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅಂತರಿಕ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾರಾಡುವ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡೆನು.
7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
೭ಆಗ; “ಪೇತ್ರನೇ, ಎದ್ದು, ಕೊಯ್ದು ತಿನ್ನು” ಎಂದು ನನಗೆ ಹೇಳುವ ವಾಣಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.
8 But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
೮ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು; “ಬೇಡವೇ ಬೇಡ, ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಹೊಲೆಯಾದ ಪದಾರ್ಥವಾಗಲಿ, ಅಶುದ್ಧ ಪದಾರ್ಥವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದೂ ನನ್ನ ಬಾಯೊಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದೆನು.
9 But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
೯ಅದಕ್ಕೆ; “ದೇವರು ಶುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಹೊಲೆ ಎನ್ನಬಾರದು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಸಾರಿಯೂ ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ವಾಣಿಯಾಯಿತು.
10 This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
೧೦ಹೀಗೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾರಿ ಆಯಿತು. ಅನಂತರ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ತಿರುಗಿ ಆಕಾಶಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
11 Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
೧೧ಆ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲೇ ಮೂವರು ಪುರುಷರು ನಾವಿದ್ದ ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ಕೈಸರೈಯದಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರು.
12 The Spirit told me to go with them without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
೧೨ದೇವರಾತ್ಮನು, ನನಗೆ ನೀನು ಏನೂ ಭೇದಮಾಡದೆ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋಗು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಈ ಆರು ಮಂದಿ ಸಹೋದರರು ಸಹ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದರು.
13 He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, who is called Peter,
೧೩ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮನೆಯೊಳಗೆ ನಾವು ಸೇರಲು ಅವನು ನಮಗೆ, ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವದೂತನು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು. ಆ ದೂತನು; “ನೀನು ಯೊಪ್ಪಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಪೇತ್ರನೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸೀಮೋನನನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸು.
14 who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
೧೪ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂದೇಶವನ್ನು ಹೇಳುವನು, ಆ ಸಂದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಿನಗೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗುವದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನೆಂಬುದಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.
15 As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
೧೫ನಾನು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮವು ಮೊದಲು ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಳಿದಂತೆ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇಳಿಯಿತು.
16 I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptised in water, but you will be baptised in the Holy Spirit.’
೧೬ಆಗ; “ಯೋಹಾನನಾದರೋ ನೀರಿನಿಂದ ದೀಕ್ಷಾಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿಸಿದನು; ನಿಮಗಾದರೋ ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನವಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಕರ್ತನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನನ್ನ ನೆನಪಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿತು.
17 If then God gave to them the same gift as us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
೧೭ದೇವರು ಕರ್ತನಾಗಿರುವ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟ ನಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ವರಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾದ ವರವನ್ನು ಅವರಿಗೂ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿರಲಾಗಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ತಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ಶಕ್ತನೋ? ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
18 When they heard these things, they held their peace and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
೧೮ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಕೇಳಿ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು; “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ದೇವರು ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೂ ಜೀವಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡಿದರು.
19 They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
೧೯ಸ್ತೆಫನನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾದ ಹಿಂಸೆಯಿಂದ ಚದರಿಹೋದವರು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗಲ್ಲದೇ ಮತ್ತಾರಿಗೂ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳದೆ ಫೊಯಿನಿಕೆ, ಕುಪ್ರ ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿದರು.
20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
೨೦ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಪ್ರದ್ವೀಪದವರು ಕೆಲವರೂ, ಕುರೇನ್ಯದವರು ಕೆಲವರೂ, ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು, ಗ್ರೀಕರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಕರ್ತನಾದ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರಿದರು.
21 The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
೨೧ಕರ್ತನ ಹಸ್ತವು ಅವರೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಬಹು ಜನರು ನಂಬಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡರು.
22 The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
೨೨ಇವರ ವಿಷಯವಾದ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಸಭೆಯವರ ಕಿವಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಅವರು ಬಾರ್ನಬನನ್ನು ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದರು.
23 who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
೨೩ಅವನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೂ, ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮ ಭರಿತನೂ, ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿದವನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.
24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
೨೪ಆದಕಾರಣ ಅಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ದೇವರ ಕೃಪಾಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟು, ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ಣಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೇಳಿದನು. ಆಗ ಬಹುಮಂದಿ ಕರ್ತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಕೊಂಡರು.
25 Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
೨೫ತರುವಾಯ ಬಾರ್ನಬನು ಸೌಲನನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ತಾರ್ಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.
26 When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. For a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
೨೬ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವರು ಒಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಪೂರ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸಭೆಯವರೊಂದಿಗಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಹು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಉಪದೇಶಮಾಡಿದರು. ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಥಮಬಾರಿಗೆ ‘ಕ್ರೈಸ್ತರು’ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರು ಬಂದದ್ದು.
27 Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
೨೭ಅ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಿಂದ ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
28 One of them named Agabus stood up and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
೨೮ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗಬನೆಂಬ ಒಬ್ಬನು ಎದ್ದು ಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕ್ಷಾಮ ಬರುವುದು ಎಂದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ಪ್ರೇರಣೆಯಿಂದ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದನು. ಅದು ಕ್ಲೌದ್ಯ ಚಕ್ರವರ್ತಿಯ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಉಂಟಾಯಿತು.
29 As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
೨೯ಆಗ ಆ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಯೂದಾಯ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಸಹೋದರರಿಗೆ ತಮ್ಮತಮ್ಮ ಶಕ್ತ್ಯಾನುಸಾರ ಧನಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ತೀರ್ಮಾನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರು.
30 which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
೩೦ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಮಾಡಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಬಾರ್ನಬನ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಲರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸಭೆಯ ಹಿರಿಯರಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
