< 1 John 3 >

1 See how great a love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God! For this cause the world doesn’t know us, because it didn’t know him.
Mulabe okwagala Katonda kw’atwagala bwe kuli okunene ennyo, n’atuyita abaana be, era ddala bwe tutyo bwe tuli. Ensi kyeva eremwa okututegeera, kubanga naye yennyini teyamutegeera.
2 Beloved, now we are children of God. It is not yet revealed what we will be; but we know that when he is revealed, we will be like him, for we will see him just as he is.
Abaagalwa, kaakano tuli baana ba Katonda, naye tetumanyi bwe tuliba. Kyokka tumanyi nti bw’alirabika tulifaanana nga ye, kubanga tulimulabira ddala nga bw’ali.
3 Everyone who has this hope set on him purifies himself, even as he is pure.
Buli muntu alina essuubi eryo yeetukuza nga Katonda bw’ali omutukuvu.
4 Everyone who sins also commits lawlessness. Sin is lawlessness.
Buli muntu akola ebibi aba mujeemu, era ekibi bwe bujeemu.
5 You know that he was revealed to take away our sins, and no sin is in him.
Naye mmwe mumanyi nti ye, yalabisibwa alyoke aggyewo ebibi. Era mu ye, temuliimu kibi.
6 Whoever remains in him doesn’t sin. Whoever sins hasn’t seen him and doesn’t know him.
Era tewali n’omu abeera mu ye ate ne yeeyongera okukola ekibi. Wabula oyo eyeeyongera okukola ekibi tamutegeeranga, era tamumanyi n’akatono.
7 Little children, let no one lead you astray. He who does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
Abaana abaagalwa, temulimbibwalimbibwanga muntu n’omu; Buli akola eby’obutuukirivu aba mutuukirivu, nga Katonda bw’ali omutuukirivu,
8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. To this end the Son of God was revealed: that he might destroy the works of the devil.
naye buli akola ekibi wa Setaani, kubanga okuva olubereberye Setaani akola bibi. Omwana wa Katonda kyeyava ajja mu nsi azikirize ebikolwa bya Setaani.
9 Whoever is born of God doesn’t commit sin, because his seed remains in him, and he can’t sin, because he is born of God.
Noolwekyo tewali afuuka mwana wa Katonda ate ne yeeyongera okukola ekibi, kubanga ensigo ya Katonda ebeera mu ye, so tayinza kukola kibi, kubanga yazaalibwa Katonda.
10 In this the children of God are revealed, and the children of the devil. Whoever doesn’t do righteousness is not of God, neither is he who doesn’t love his brother.
Ku kino abaana ba Katonda n’aba Setaani kwe bategeererwa. Buli akola ebitali bya butuukirivu si wa Katonda, era na buli atayagala muganda we si wa Katonda.
11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another—
Kubanga buno bwe bubaka bwe twawulira okuva ku lubereberye nti twagalanenga,
12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his deeds were evil, and his brother’s righteous.
si nga Kayini eyali owa Setaani, n’atta muganda we. Kale yamuttira ki? Kayini yatta muganda we kubanga Kayini yakola ebibi, so nga ye muganda we yakola eby’obutuukirivu.
13 Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.
Abooluganda, ensi bwe bakyawanga, temwewuunyanga.
14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death.
Kubanga ffe tumanyi nga twava mu kufa, ne tuyingira mu bulamu, kubanga twagala abooluganda, naye buli muntu atalina kwagala akyali mu kufa.
15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. (aiōnios g166)
Buli akyawa muntu munne, oyo aba mussi, era mukimanyi nti tewali mussi alina obulamu obutaggwaawo mu ye. (aiōnios g166)
16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Mu kino mwe tutegeerera okwagala, kubanga yawaayo obulamu bwe ku lwaffe, era naffe kyetuva tuteekwa okuwaayo obulamu bwaffe olw’abooluganda.
17 But whoever has the world’s goods and sees his brother in need, then closes his heart of compassion against him, how does God’s love remain in him?
Buli alina ebintu eby’omu nsi n’alaba muganda we nga yeetaaga, naye n’abulwako ky’amuwa, okwagala kwa Katonda, kuyinza kutya okuba mu ye?
18 My little children, let’s not love in word only, or with the tongue only, but in deed and truth.
Abaana abaagalwa, tetusaana kwagala mu bigambo kyokka, wabula twagalanenga ne mu bikolwa ne mu bulamu obulabika eri abantu.
19 And by this we know that we are of the truth and persuade our hearts before him,
Mu ekyo mwe tutegeerera nga tuli ba mazima, era ne tukkakkanya omutima gwaffe mu maaso ge.
20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Singa omutima gwaffe tegutusalira musango, Katonda ye asinga omutima gwaffe era ye ategeera ebintu byonna.
21 Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness towards God;
Abaagalwa, omutima gwaffe bwe gutatusalira musango, tuba bagumu mu maaso ga Katonda.
22 so whatever we ask, we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight.
Era buli kye tumusaba akituwa, kubanga tugondera ebiragiro bye, era ne tukola ebimusanyusa.
23 This is his commandment, that we should believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and love one another, even as he commanded.
Era kino ky’atulagira nti, tukkiririze mu linnya ly’Omwana we Yesu Kristo, era twagalanenga nga ye bwe yatulagira.
24 He who keeps his commandments remains in him, and he in him. By this we know that he remains in us, by the Spirit which he gave us.
Kale oyo agondera ebiragiro bye abeera mu Ye, era naye abeera mu ye. Kino tukimanyi ng’ali mu ffe, kubanga Mwoyo Mutukuvu gwe yatuwa abeera mu ffe.
