Revelation 20
1 I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key of the abyss and a great chain in his hand. (Abyssos g12)
Et je vis un ange qui descendait du ciel, ayant la clef de l’abîme, et une grande chaîne en sa main. (Abyssos g12)
2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, who is the devil and Satan, who deceives the whole inhabited earth, and bound him for a thousand years,
Et il prit le dragon, l’ancien serpent, qui est le diable et Satan, et il le lia pour mille ans,
3 and cast him into the abyss, and shut it and sealed it over him, that he should deceive the nations no more until the thousand years were finished. After this, he must be freed for a short time. (Abyssos g12)
Et il le jeta dans l’abîme, et l’y enferma, et il mit un sceau sur lui, afin qu’il ne séduisît plus les nations, jusqu’à ce que fussent accomplis les mille ans; car après ces mille ans il faut qu’il soit délié pour un peu de temps. (Abyssos g12)
4 I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgement was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Je vis aussi des trônes (et il y en eut qui s’y assirent, et le pouvoir de juger leur fut donné), et les âmes de ceux qui ont eu la tête tranchée à cause du témoignage de Jésus, et à cause de la parole de Dieu, et qui n’ont point adoré la bête ni son image, ni reçu son caractère sur le front ou dans leurs mains; et ils ont vécu et régné avec Jésus-Christ pendant mille ans.
5 The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Les autres morts ne sont pas revenus à la vie, jusqu’à ce que fussent accomplis les mille ans. C’est ici la première résurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over these, the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and will reign with him one thousand years.
Bienheureux et saint est celui qui a part à la première résurrection, la seconde mort n’aura pas de pouvoir sur eux; mais ils seront prêtres de Dieu et de Jésus-Christ, et ils régneront avec lui pendant mille ans.
7 And after the thousand years, Satan will be released from his prison
Et lorsque seront accomplis les mille ans, Satan sera relâché de sa prison
8 and he will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war, whose number is as the sand of the sea.
et sortira, et il séduira les nations qui sont aux quatre coins du monde, Gog et Magog, et il les assemblera au combat, eux dont le nombre est comme le sable de la mer.
9 They went up over the width of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city. Fire came down out of heaven from God and devoured them.
Et ils montèrent sur toute la face de la terre, et ils environnèrent le camp des saints et la cité bien-aimée. Mais il descendit du ciel un feu venu de Dieu, et il les dévora;
11 I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away. There was found no place for them.
Je vis aussi un grand trône blanc, et quelqu’un assis dessus, et devant la face duquel la terre et le ciel s’enfuirent, et leur place ne se trouva plus.
12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and they opened books. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged out of the things which were written in the books, according to their works.
Et je vis les morts, grands et petits, debout devant le trône; des livres furent ouverts, et un autre livre fut encore ouvert, c’est le livre de vie; et les morts furent jugés sur ce qui était dans les livres, selon leurs œuvres.
13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them. They were judged, each one according to his works. (Hadēs g86)
La mer rendit les morts qui étaient en elle; la mort et l’enfer rendirent aussi les morts qui étaient en eux; et ils furent jugés chacun selon ses œuvres. (Hadēs g86)
