Proverbs 7
1 My son, keep my words. Lay up my commandments within you.
Filho meu, guarda minhas palavras; e deposita em ti meus mandamentos.
2 Keep my commandments and live! Guard my teaching as the apple of your eye.
Guarda meus mandamentos, e vive; e minha lei, como as pupilas de teus olhos.
3 Bind them on your fingers. Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Ata-os aos teus dedos; escreve-os na tábua do teu coração.
4 Tell wisdom, “You are my sister.” Call understanding your relative,
Dize à sabedoria: Tu és minha irmã; E à prudência chama de parente.
5 that they may keep you from the strange woman, from the foreigner who flatters with her words.
Para que te guardem da mulher alheia, da estranha, [que] lisonjeia com suas palavras.
6 For at the window of my house, I looked out through my lattice.
Porque da janela de minha casa, pelas minhas grades eu olhei;
7 I saw amongst the simple ones. I discerned amongst the youths a young man void of understanding,
E vi entre os simples, prestei atenção entre os jovens, um rapaz que tinha falta de juízo;
8 passing through the street near her corner, he went the way to her house,
Que estava passando pela rua junto a sua esquina, e seguia o caminho da casa dela;
9 in the twilight, in the evening of the day, in the middle of the night and in the darkness.
No crepúsculo, ao entardecer do dia, no escurecer da noite e nas trevas.
10 Behold, there a woman met him with the attire of a prostitute, and with crafty intent.
E eis que uma mulher lhe [saiu] ao encontro, com roupas de prostituta, e astuta de coração.
11 She is loud and defiant. Her feet don’t stay in her house.
Esta era barulhenta e insubordinada; os pés dela não paravam em sua casa.
12 Now she is in the streets, now in the squares, and lurking at every corner.
De tempos em tempos ela fica fora [de casa], nas ruas, espreitando em todos os cantos.
13 So she caught him, and kissed him. With an impudent face she said to him:
Então ela o pegou, e o beijou; e com atrevimento em seu rosto, disse-lhe:
14 “Sacrifices of peace offerings are with me. Today I have paid my vows.
Sacrifícios pacíficos tenho comigo; hoje paguei meus votos.
15 Therefore I came out to meet you, to diligently seek your face, and I have found you.
Por isso saí para te encontrar; para buscar apressadamente a tua face, e te achei.
16 I have spread my couch with carpets of tapestry, with striped cloths of the yarn of Egypt.
Já preparei minha cama com cobertas; com tecidos de linho fino do Egito.
17 I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
Já perfumei meu leito com mirra, aloés e canela.
18 Come, let’s take our fill of loving until the morning. Let’s solace ourselves with loving.
Vem [comigo]; iremos nos embebedar de paixões até a manhã, e nos alegraremos de amores.
19 For my husband isn’t at home. He has gone on a long journey.
Porque [meu] marido não está em casa; ele viajou para longe.
20 He has taken a bag of money with him. He will come home at the full moon.”
Ele tomou uma bolsa de dinheiro em sua mão; [e só] volta para casa no dia determinado.
21 With persuasive words, she led him astray. With the flattering of her lips, she seduced him.
Ela o convenceu com suas muitas palavras sedutoras; com a lisonja de seus lábios ela o persuadiu.
22 He followed her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, as a fool stepping into a noose.
Ele foi logo após ela, como o boi vai ao matadouro; e como o louco ao castigo das prisões.
23 Until an arrow strikes through his liver, as a bird hurries to the snare, and doesn’t know that it will cost his life.
Até que uma flecha atravesse seu fígado; como a ave que se apressa para a armadilha, e não sabe que está [armada] contra sua vida.
24 Now therefore, sons, listen to me. Pay attention to the words of my mouth.
Agora pois, filhos, escutai-me; e prestai atenção às palavras de minha boca.
25 Don’t let your heart turn to her ways. Don’t go astray in her paths,
Que teu coração não se desvie para os caminhos dela, e não andes perdido pelas veredas dela.
26 for she has thrown down many wounded. Yes, all her slain are a mighty army.
Porque ela derrubou muitos feridos; e são muitíssimos os que por ela foram mortos.
