< Jeremiah 49 >

1 Of the children of Ammon. The LORD says: “Has Israel no sons? Has he no heir? Why then does Malcam possess Gad, and his people dwell in its cities?
Nke a dịrị ndị Amọn: Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Ọ bụ na Izrel enweghị ụmụ ndị ikom? Izrel o nweghị onye nnweta ihe o nwere? Gịnị mere Molek ji nweta obodo Gad? Gịnị mere ndị ya ji bichie obodo ya niile?
2 Therefore behold, the days come,” says the LORD, “that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard against Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and it will become a desolate heap, and her daughters will be burnt with fire; then Israel will possess those who possessed him,” says the LORD.
Ma ụbọchị ahụ na-abịa,” ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, “mgbe m ga-eme ka a nụ ụda iti mkpu agha, nke a ga-eti megide Raba, obodo ndị Amọn. A ga-eme ya ka ọ ghọọ mkputamkpu ebe. Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru.
3 “Wail, Heshbon, for Ai is laid waste! Cry, you daughters of Rabbah! Clothe yourself in sackcloth. Lament, and run back and forth amongst the fences; for Malcam will go into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
“Kpọọ mkpu akwa, gị Heshbọn, nʼihi na ebibiela Ai! Tisienụ mkpu akwa ike unu ndị bi na Raba! Yirinụ uwe mkpe unu, tiekwanụ aka nʼobi nʼihi iru ụjụ; gbagharịanụ nʼogige mgbidi obodo unu, nʼihi na a ga-adọta Molek nʼagha, buru ya na ndị nchụaja ya na ndịisi ọchịchị ya gaa mba ọzọ.
4 Why do you boast in the valleys, your flowing valley, backsliding daughter? You trusted in her treasures, saying, ‘Who will come to me?’
Gịnị mere unu ji anya isi nʼihi ndagwurugwu nke na-amị mkpụrụ hiri nne, gị ada nwanyị na-ekwesighị ntụkwasị obi, onye ntụkwasị obi ya dị nʼakụnụba ya, gị onye na-asị, ‘Onye ga-ebuso m agha?’
5 Behold, I will bring a terror on you,” says the Lord, GOD of Armies, “from all who are around you. All of you will be driven completely out, and there will be no one to gather together the fugitives.
Aga m esite nʼaka ndị niile gbara gị gburugburu mee ka oke egwu bịakwasị gị,” otu a ka Onye kachasị ihe niile elu, bụ Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwupụtara ya, “A ga-achụpụ onye ọbụla nʼime unu. Ọ dịkwaghị onye ga-achịkọta ndị ahụ niile gbapụrụ agbapụ.
6 “But afterward I will reverse the captivity of the children of Ammon,” says the LORD.
“Ma mgbe e mesịrị, aga m emekwa ka ndị Amọn laghachikwa nʼala ha.” Otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri.
7 Of Edom, the LORD of Armies says: “Is wisdom no more in Teman? Has counsel perished from the prudent? Has their wisdom vanished?
Nke dịrị Edọm: Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị, Onye pụrụ ime ihe niile kwuru, “Ọ pụtara na onye amamihe adịghịkwa na Teman? Okwu ndụmọdụ ọ gwụla nʼọnụ ndị nwere nghọta? Amamihe ha o reela ure?
8 Flee! Turn back! Dwell in the depths, inhabitants of Dedan; for I will bring the calamity of Esau on him when I visit him.
Chigharịanụ gbalaga, unu ndị bi na Dedan. Gaa zoonụ onwe unu nʼọgba nkume miri emi, nʼihi na aga m eme ka ihe ọjọọ bịakwasị Ịsọ, nʼoge ahụ m ga-ata ya ahụhụ.
9 If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave some gleaning grapes? If thieves came by night, wouldn’t they steal until they had enough?
Ọ bụrụ na ndị na-aghọrọ mkpụrụ vaịnị abịakwute gị, ọ bụ na ha agaghị ahapụrụ gị mkpụrụ ole na ole? Ọ bụrụkwa na ndị ohi abịa nʼabalị, ọ bụghị naanị ihe ha chọrọ ka ha ga-akwakọrọ?
10 But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he will not be able to hide himself. His offspring is destroyed, with his brothers and his neighbours; and he is no more.
11 Leave your fatherless children. I will preserve them alive. Let your widows trust in me.”
‘Hapụnụ ụmụ mgbei unu niile, nʼihi na mụ onwe m ga-edebe ha ndụ. Ndị inyom unu niile ndị di ha nwụrụ nwere ike ịtụkwasị m obi.’”
12 For the LORD says: “Behold, they to whom it didn’t pertain to drink of the cup will certainly drink; and are you he who will altogether go unpunished? You won’t go unpunished, but you will surely drink.
Ihe ndị a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru, “Ọ bụrụ na e mere ka ndị ahụ na-ekwesighị ịṅụ ihe dị nʼiko ahụ ṅụọ ya, a ga-esi aṅaa ghara ịta gị ahụhụ? A ghaghị ịta gị ahụhụ; ị ghakwaghị ịṅụ site nʼiko ahụ.”
13 For I have sworn by myself,” says the LORD, “that Bozrah will become an astonishment, a reproach, a waste, and a curse. All its cities will be perpetual wastes.”
“Eji m onwe m ṅụọ iyi, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwupụtara, sị, na Bozra ga-aghọ mkpọmkpọ ebe, na ihe iju anya, na ihe ịta ụta, na ihe ịbụ ọnụ. Obodo ya niile ga-aghọkwa mkpọmkpọ ebe ruo mgbe ebighị ebi.”
14 I have heard news from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent amongst the nations, saying, “Gather yourselves together! Come against her! Rise up to the battle!”
15 “For, behold, I have made you small amongst the nations, and despised amongst men.
Ugbu a, aga m eme ka ị dị nta nʼetiti mba dị iche iche, ihe nlelị na-ebe mmadụ nọ.
16 As for your terror, the pride of your heart has deceived you, O you who dwell in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill, though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there,” says the LORD.
Ịdị egwu gị nke na-eyinye ndị mmadụ egwu, na nganga nke obi gị eduhiela gị, gị onye na-ebi na mgbawa niile nke nkume dị elu, gị onye ji ebe niile dị elu nke ugwu nʼaka ya. A sịkwarị na i wuo akwụ gị nʼebe dị elu, dịka ebe ugo ga-ewu akwụ ya, aga m esite nʼebe ahụ kpụdata gị nʼala, otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwubiri ya.
17 “Edom will become an astonishment. Everyone who passes by it will be astonished, and will hiss at all its plagues.
“Edọm ga-aghọ ihe iju anya. Ndị niile na-esi nʼakụkụ ya agafe ga-anọ nʼọnọdụ iju anya, ha ga-eledakwa ya anya nʼihi ọnya ya niile.
18 As in the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah and its neighbour cities,” says the LORD, “no man will dwell there, neither will any son of man live therein.
Otu a kwa, ọ dịghị onye ọbụla ga-ebi nʼebe ahụ; nwa mmadụ ọbụla agakwaghị ebi nʼime ya,” otu a ka Onyenwe anyị kwuru.
19 “Behold, he will come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation; for I will suddenly make them run away from it, and whoever is chosen, I will appoint him over it. For who is like me? Who will appoint me a time? Who is the shepherd who will stand before me?”
“Aga m esi nʼala ya chụpụ Edọm nʼotu ntabi anya, dịka mgbe ọdụm na-esi nʼoke ọhịa Jọdan na-arịgopụta nʼebe ịta nri nke ụmụ anụmanụ jupụtara nʼahịhịa ndụ. 20 Therefore hear the counsel of the LORD, that he has taken against Edom, and his purposes that he has purposed against the inhabitants of Teman: Surely they will drag them away, the little ones of the flock. Surely he will make their habitation desolate over them.
A ga-adọkpụrụ ndị dị nta nʼetiti igwe ewu na atụrụ ahụ, ebe ịta nri ha ga-anọ nʼọnọdụ mgbagwoju anya nʼihi nke a.

22 Behold, he will come up and fly as the eagle, and spread out his wings against Bozrah. The heart of the mighty men of Edom at that day will be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.

24 Damascus has grown feeble, she turns herself to flee, and trembling has seized her. Anguish and sorrows have taken hold of her, as of a woman in travail.

26 Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, and all the men of war will be brought to silence in that day,” says the LORD of Armies.

31 Arise! Go up to a nation that is at ease, that dwells without care,” says the LORD; “that has neither gates nor bars, that dwells alone.
