1 Chronicles 26

1 For the divisions of the doorkeepers: of the Korahites, Meshelemiah the son of Kore, of the sons of Asaph.

2 Meshelemiah had sons: Zechariah the firstborn, Jediael the second, Zebadiah the third, Jathniel the fourth,

3 Elam the fifth, Jehohanan the sixth, and Eliehoenai the seventh.

4 Obed-Edom had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sacar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

Obed-Edom eut des fils: Schemaeja, le premier-né, Jehozabad, le deuxième, Joach, le troisième, Sacar, le quatrième, Nethanel, le cinquième,

5 Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, and Peullethai the eighth; for God blessed him.

Ammiel, le sixième, Issachar, le septième, et Peullethai, le huitième; car Dieu l'a béni.

6 Sons were also born to Shemaiah his son, who ruled over the house of their father; for they were mighty men of valour.

Des fils naquirent aussi à Schemaeja, son fils, qui régnèrent sur la maison de leur père; car ils étaient des hommes vaillants.

7 The sons of Shemaiah: Othni, Rephael, Obed, and Elzabad, whose relatives were valiant men, Elihu, and Semachiah.

Fils de Schemaeja: Othni, Rephaël, Obed et Elzabad, dont les parents étaient des hommes vaillants, Elihu et Semachia.

8 All these were of the sons of Obed-Edom with their sons and their brothers, able men in strength for the service: sixty-two of Obed-Edom.

Tous ceux-là étaient des fils d'Obed-Edom, avec leurs fils et leurs frères, des hommes vaillants pour le service: soixante-deux d'Obed-Edom.

9 Meshelemiah had sons and brothers, eighteen valiant men.

Meshelemia avait des fils et des frères, dix-huit hommes vaillants.

10 Also Hosah, of the children of Merari, had sons: Shimri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, yet his father made him chief),

Hosa, des fils de Merari, avait aussi des fils: Shimri, le chef (car, bien qu'il ne fût pas le premier-né, son père l'avait établi chef),

11 Hilkiah the second, Tebaliah the third, and Zechariah the fourth. All the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen.

Hilkija, le second, Tebalia, le troisième, et Zacharie, le quatrième. Tous les fils et frères de Hosah étaient au nombre de treize.

12 Of these were the divisions of the doorkeepers, even of the chief men, having offices like their brothers, to minister in the LORD’s house.

Voici les divisions des portiers, des chefs, qui avaient des fonctions comme leurs frères, pour faire le service dans la maison de l'Éternel.

13 They cast lots, the small as well as the great, according to their fathers’ houses, for every gate.

Ils tirèrent au sort, pour chaque porte, les petits et les grands, selon les maisons de leurs pères.

14 The lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counsellor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

Le lot de l'est échut à Shemiah. On tira au sort pour Zacharie, son fils, conseiller avisé, et son lot sortit au nord.

15 To Obed-Edom southward; and to his sons the storehouse.

A Obed-Edom, au sud; et à ses fils, l'entrepôt.

16 To Shuppim and Hosah westward, by the gate of Shallecheth, at the causeway that goes up, watchman opposite watchman.

A Shuppim et à Hosa, à l'occident, près de la porte de Schallécheth, sur la chaussée qui monte, sentinelle en face de sentinelle.

17 Eastward were six Levites, northward four a day, southward four a day, and for the storehouse two and two.

A l'est, il y avait six Lévites, au nord quatre par jour, au sud quatre par jour, et pour le magasin deux et deux.

18 For Parbar westward, four at the causeway, and two at Parbar.

19 These were the divisions of the doorkeepers; of the sons of the Korahites, and of the sons of Merari.

Telles étaient les divisions des portiers, des fils des Koréites et des fils de Merari.

20 Of the Levites, Ahijah was over the treasures of God’s house and over the treasures of the dedicated things.

Parmi les Lévites, Achija était responsable des trésors de la maison de Dieu et des trésors des objets consacrés.

21 The sons of Ladan, the sons of the Gershonites belonging to Ladan, the heads of the fathers’ households belonging to Ladan the Gershonite: Jehieli.

22 The sons of Jehieli: Zetham, and Joel his brother, over the treasures of the LORD’s house.

23 Of the Amramites, of the Izharites, of the Hebronites, of the Uzzielites:

24 Shebuel the son of Gershom, the son of Moses, was ruler over the treasuries.

Shebuel, fils de Gershom, fils de Moïse, était chef des trésors.

25 His brothers: of Eliezer, Rehabiah his son, and Jeshaiah his son, and Joram his son, and Zichri his son, and Shelomoth his son.

Ses frères: d'Éliézer, Rehabia, son fils, et Jeshaiah, son fils, et Joram, son fils, et Zichri, son fils, et Shelomoth, son fils.

26 This Shelomoth and his brothers were over all the treasuries of the dedicated things, which David the king, and the heads of the fathers’ households, the captains over thousands and hundreds, and the captains of the army, had dedicated.

Ce Shelomoth et ses frères étaient responsables de tous les trésors des objets consacrés, que le roi David, les chefs de famille, les chefs de milliers et de centaines, et les chefs de l'armée avaient consacrés.

27 They dedicated some of the plunder won in battles to repair the LORD’s house.

Ils consacrèrent une partie du butin gagné dans les batailles pour réparer la maison de Yahvé.

28 All that Samuel the seer, Saul the son of Kish, Abner the son of Ner, and Joab the son of Zeruiah had dedicated, whoever had dedicated anything, it was under the hand of Shelomoth and of his brothers.

Tout ce que Samuel le voyant, Saül, fils de Kish, Abner, fils de Ner, et Joab, fils de Tseruja, avaient consacré, quiconque avait consacré quelque chose, était sous la main de Shelomoth et de ses frères.

29 Of the Izharites, Chenaniah and his sons were appointed to the outward business over Israel, for officers and judges.

D'entre les Jizharites, Chenania et ses fils furent chargés des affaires extérieures d'Israël, comme officiers et comme juges.

30 Of the Hebronites, Hashabiah and his brothers, one thousand and seven hundred men of valour, had the oversight of Israel beyond the Jordan westward, for all the business of the LORD and for the service of the king.

Parmi les Hébronites, Haschabia et ses frères, mille sept cents hommes vaillants, avaient la surveillance d'Israël au-delà du Jourdain, à l'ouest, pour toutes les affaires de l'Éternel et pour le service du roi.

31 Of the Hebronites, Jerijah was the chief of the Hebronites, according to their generations by fathers’ households. They were sought for in the fortieth year of the reign of David, and mighty men of valour were found amongst them at Jazer of Gilead.

Parmi les Hébronites, Jerijah était le chef des Hébronites, selon leurs générations par maisons de pères. On les rechercha la quarantième année du règne de David, et l'on trouva parmi eux des hommes vaillants à Jazer de Galaad.

32 His relatives, men of valour, were two thousand and seven hundred, heads of fathers’ households, whom King David made overseers over the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of the Manassites, for every matter pertaining to God and for the affairs of the king.

Ses parents, hommes vaillants, étaient au nombre de deux mille sept cents, chefs de famille, que le roi David établit comme surveillants des Rubénites, des Gadites et de la demi-tribu des Manassites, pour tout ce qui concernait Dieu et les affaires du roi.
