1 Chronicles 18
1 After this, David defeated the Philistines and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
Darnach schlug David die Philister und demütigte sie und entriß Gat und seine Dörfer der Hand der Philister.
2 He defeated Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David and brought tribute.
Auch schlug er die Moabiter, so daß die Moabiter David untertan wurden und ihm Gaben brachten.
3 David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, towards Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
Und David schlug auch Hadar-Eser, den König von Zoba, gegen Chamat hin, als er hinzog, seine Macht am Strome Euphrat aufzurichten.
4 David took from him one thousand chariots, seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them enough for one hundred chariots.
Und David nahm von ihm tausend Wagen und siebentausend Reiter und zwanzigtausend Mann Fußvolk. Und David lähmte alle Wagenpferde; aber hundert Wagenpferde behielt er übrig.
5 When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck twenty-two thousand men of the Syrians.
Und die Syrer von Damaskus kamen, um Hadar-Eser, dem König von Zoba, zu helfen. Aber David erschlug von den Syrern 22000 Mann.
6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.
Und David legte Besatzungen in das damaszenische Syrien, so daß die Syrer David untertan wurden und ihm Gaben brachten; denn der HERR half David überall, wo er hinzog.
7 David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
Und David nahm die goldenen Schilde, welche die Knechte Hadar-Esers getragen hatten, und brachte sie nach Jerusalem.
8 From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.
Auch nahm David aus Tibchat und Kun, den Städten Hadar-Esers, sehr viel Erz, woraus Salomo das eherne Meer und die Säulen und die ehernen Geräte machte.
9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
Als aber Tohu, der König von Chamat, hörte, daß David die ganze Macht Hadar-Esers, des Königs von Zoba, geschlagen hatte,
10 he sent Hadoram his son to King David to greet him and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him (for Hadadezer had wars with Tou); and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.
sandte er seinen Sohn Hadoram zum König David, um ihn zu begrüßen und ihn zu beglückwünschen, daß er mit Hadar-Eser gestritten und ihn geschlagen hatte (denn Tohu war im Kriegszustand mit Hadar-Eser), und er hatte bei sich allerlei goldene, silberne und eherne Geräte.
11 King David also dedicated these to the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations: from Edom, from Moab, from the children of Ammon, from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
Auch diese heiligte der König David dem HERRN, samt dem Silber und Gold, das er von allen Nationen genommen hatte, nämlich von den Edomitern, Moabitern, den Kindern Ammon, den Philistern und Amalekitern.
12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck eighteen thousand of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt.
Und Abisai, der Sohn der Zeruja, erschlug von den Edomitern im Salztal achtzehntausend [Mann]
13 He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.
und legte Besatzungen in Edom, so daß alle Edomiter David untertan wurden. Denn der HERR half dem David überall, wo er hinzog.
14 David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness for all his people.
Also regierte David über ganz Israel und verschaffte all seinem Volk Recht und Gerechtigkeit.
15 Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
Joab aber, der Sohn der Zeruja, war über das Heer gesetzt, und Josaphat, der Sohn Achiluds, war Kanzler,
16 Zadok the son of Ahitub and Abimelech the son of Abiathar were priests; Shavsha was scribe;
Zadok, der Sohn Achitubs, und Abimelech, der Sohn Abjatars, waren Priester, Schawscha war Staatsschreiber,
17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief officials serving the king.
Benaja, der Sohn Jojadas, war über die Kreter und Pleter; und die Söhne Davids waren die Ersten zur Hand des Königs.
