< Revelation 17 >
1 Then one of the seven angels who were carrying the seven bowls came and spoke to me. "Come with me," he said, "and I will show you the doom of the great Harlot who sits upon many waters.
Abɔfo baason no mu ɔbaako a okura nkuruwa ason no baa me nkyɛn bɛkae se, “Bra na menkyerɛ wo ɔkwan a wɔbɛfa so atwe oguamanfo kɛse a ɔte nsu pii so no aso.
2 The kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."
Wiase ahene ne no bɔɔ aguaman, na asase so nnipa bobow wɔ nʼaguaman nsa no mu.”
3 So he carried me away in the Spirit into a desert, and there I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet-colored Wild Beast which was covered with names of blasphemy and had seven heads and ten horns.
Honhom no faa me ma ɔbɔfo no de me kɔɔ sare so. Ɛhɔ na mihuu sɛ ɔbea bi te aboa kɔkɔɔ bi a wɔakyerɛw din a ɛyɛ abususɛm agu ne ho nyinaa. Na aboa no wɔ ti ason, ne mmɛn du.
4 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and was brilliantly attired with gold and jewels and pearls. She held in her hand a cup of gold, full of abominations, and she gave filthy indications of her fornication.
Na ɔbea no hyɛ atadetam kɔkɔɔ a ɔde sika mpɔw a ɛhyerɛn ne nhene a ne bo yɛ den ahyehyɛ ne ho. Na okura sika kuruwa a afide ne aguamammɔ ho nneɛma ayɛ no ma tɔ.
5 And on her forehead was a name written: "I am a symbol of great Babylon, the mother of the harlots and of the abominations of the earth."
Na wɔakyerɛw din bi wɔ ne moma so a ne nkyerɛase no wɔ ahintasɛm mu se, “Babilonia Kokuroko, Asase So Nguamanfo Ne Akyiwade Na.”
6 And I saw the woman drinking herself drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the witnesses of Jesus. And when I saw her I was filled with utter astonishment.
Na mihuu sɛ Onyankopɔn nkurɔfo ne Yesu akyidifo a wokum wɔn no mogya abow no. Mihuu no no, ɛyɛɛ me nwonwa.
7 Then the angel said to me, "Why are you so astonished? I will explain to you the secret meaning of the woman and of the seven-headed, ten-horned Wild Beast which carries her.
Ɔbɔfo no bisaa me se, “Adɛn nti na ɛyɛ wo nwonwa? Mɛkyerɛ wo ahintasɛm nkyerɛase a ɛwɔ ɔbea no ne aboa no a ɔwɔ ti ason ne mmɛn du a ɔte ne so no.
8 "The Wild Beast which you have seen was, and is not, and yet is destined to re-ascend, before long, out of the bottomless pit and go his way into perdition. And the inhabitants of the earth will be filled with amazement--all whose names are not in the Book of Life, having been recorded there ever since the creation of the world--when they see the Wild Beast: because he was, and is not, and yet is to come. (Abyssos )
Aboa a wuhuu no no na ɔte ase, nanso ɔnte ase bio. Ɔrebefi bun no mu aba ama wɔasɛe no. Sɛ nnipa a wɔte asase so a wɔankyerɛw wɔn din angu ateasefo nhoma no mu ansa na wɔrebɔ wiase no hu aboa no a, ɛbɛyɛ wɔn nwonwa. Na ɔte ase bere bi, nanso mprempren de, ɔnte ase na ɔbɛsan aba. (Abyssos )
9 Here is scope for the exercise of a mind that has wisdom! The seven heads are the seven hills on which the woman sits.
“Nyansa ne ntease ho hia wɔ ha. Eti ason no gyina hɔ ma mmepɔw ason, mmepɔw a ɔbea no tena so. Wɔyɛ ahene baason nso
10 And they are seven kings: five of them have fallen, and the one is still reigning. The seventh has not yet come, but when he comes he must continue for a short time.
a wɔn mu baanum awuwu, na ɔbaako da so di hene na ɔbaako a ɔka ho no mmae. Na sɛ ɔba a obedi hene kakra.
11 And the Wild Beast which once existed but does not now exist--he is an eighth king and yet is one of the seven and he goes his way into perdition.
Aboa no a anka na ɔte ase na afei de, ɔnte ase no yɛ ɔhene a ɔto so awotwe a ɔka baason a wodi kan no ho a ɔrekɔ ne sɛe mu.
12 "And the ten horns which you have seen are ten kings who have not yet come to the throne, but for a single hour they are to receive authority as kings along with the Wild Beast.
“Mmɛn du a wuhui no yɛ ahene du a womfii wɔn ahenni ase a wɔbɛma wɔn tumi na wɔne aboa no adi hene dɔnhwerew no.
13 They have one common policy, and they are to give their power and authority to the Wild Beast.
Wɔn nyinaa wɔ botae baako, na wɔde wɔn ahoɔden ne wɔn tumi bɛma aboa no.
14 They will make war upon the Lamb, and the Lamb will triumph over them; for He is Lord of lords and King of kings. And those who accompany Him--called, as they are, and chosen, and faithful--shall share in the victory."
Wɔbɛko atia Oguamma no, na ɔno ne nʼakyidifo, agyidifo ne nokwafo a wɔafrɛ wɔn no bedi wɔn so, efisɛ ɔyɛ awuranom mu Awurade ne ahene mu Hene.”
15 He also said to me, "The waters which you have seen, on which the Harlot sits, are peoples and multitudes, nations and languages.
Ɔbɔfo no nso ka kyerɛɛ me se, “Nsu a wuhuu sɛ oguamanfo no te so no yɛ nkurow ne nkurɔfo akuwakuw ne aman ne ɔkasa ahorow.
16 And the ten horns that you have seen--and the Wild Beast--these will hate the Harlot, and they will cause her to be laid waste and will strip her bare. They will eat her flesh, and burn her up with fire.
Mmɛn du ne aboa a wuhuu no no bekyi oguamanfo no. Wɔbɛfa biribiara a ɛwɔ ne ho ama wada adagyaw. Wɔbɛwe ne nam na wɔde ogya ahyew no.
17 For God has put it into their hearts to carry out His purpose, and to carry out a common purpose and to give their kingdom to the Wild Beast until God's words have come to pass.
Efisɛ Onyankopɔn de ahyɛ wɔn koma mu se wɔbɛpene so de wɔn tumi ama aboa no na wadi hene kosi sɛ Onyankopɔn asɛm no bɛba mu de ahyɛ ne botae no ma.
18 And the woman whom you have seen is the great city which has kingly power over the kings of the earth."
Ɔbea a wuhuu no no yɛ kurow kɛse a edi asase so ahene no so.”
