Matthew 18
1 Just then the disciples came to Jesus and asked, "Who ranks higher than others in the Kingdom of the Heavens?"
其時弟子等、イエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、天國にて大なる者は誰なりと思ひ給ふか、と。
2 So He called a young child to Him, and, bidding him stand in the midst of them,
イエズス一人の幼兒を召寄せ、彼等の眞中に立たせて、
3 said, "In solemn truth I tell you that unless you turn and become like little children, you will in no case be admitted into the Kingdom of the Heavens.
曰ひけるは、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、汝等若翻りて幼兒の如くに成らずば、天國に入らざるべし、
4 Whoever therefore shall humble himself as this young child, he it is who is superior to others in the Kingdom of the Heavens.
然れば総て此幼兒の如く自謙る人は、天國にて大なる者なり、
5 And whoever for my sake receives one young child such as this, receives me.
又我名の為に斯の如き一人の幼兒を承くる人は、我を承くる者なり。
6 But whoever shall occasion the fall of one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for him to have a millstone hung round his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
然れど我を信ずる此最小き者の一人を躓かする人は、驢馬挽磨を頚に懸けられ、海の深處に沈めらるるこそ彼に益あるなれ。
7 "Alas for the world because of causes of falling! They cannot but come, but alas for each man through whom they come!
躓あるが為に世は禍なる哉。躓は來らざるを得ざれども、躓を來す人は禍なる哉。
8 If your hand or your foot is causing you to fall into sin, cut it off and away with it. It is better for you to enter into Life crippled in hand or foot than to remain in possession of two sound hands or feet but be thrown into the fire of the Ages. (aiōnios g166)
然れば若汝の手或は足汝を躓かすならば、之を切りて棄てよ、隻手或は隻足にて生命に入るは、兩手或は兩足ありて永遠の火に投入れらるるより、汝に取りて勝れり。 (aiōnios g166)
9 And if your eye is causing you to fall into sin, tear it out and away with it; it is better for you to enter into Life with only one eye, than to remain in possession of two eyes but be thrown into the Gehenna of fire. (Geenna g1067)
又若汝の眼汝を躓かすならば、之を抉りて棄てよ、隻眼にて生命に入るは、兩眼ありて地獄の火に投入れらるるより、汝に取りて勝れり。 (Geenna g1067)
10 "Beware of ever despising one of these little ones, for I tell you that in Heaven their angels have continual access to my Father who is in Heaven.
汝等慎みて、此最小き者の一人をも軽んずること勿れ、我汝等に告ぐ、彼等の[天]使等天に在りて、天に在す我父の御顔を常に見るなり。
蓋人の子は失せたる者を救はんとて來れり。
12 What do you yourselves think? Suppose a man gets a hundred sheep and one of them strays away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go and look for the one that is straying?
汝等之を何とか思へる、百頭の羊を有てる者、若其一頭を失はば、九十九頭を山に措き、往きて其迷へるものを尋ぬるに非ずや。
13 And if he succeeds in finding it, in solemn truth I tell you that he rejoices over it more than he does over the ninety-nine that have not gone astray.
然て之を見出すに至らば、我誠に汝等に告ぐ、迷はざる九十九頭の羊の上よりも、尚此一頭の上を喜ぶなり。
14 Just so it is not the will of your Father in Heaven that one of these little ones should be lost.
斯の如く、此最小き者の一人にても、其亡ぶるは、天に在す汝等の父の御旨にあらざるなり。
15 "If your brother acts wrongly towards you, go and point out his fault to him when only you and he are there. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother.
若汝の兄弟汝に罪を犯さば、往きて汝と彼と相對して彼を諌めよ、若汝に聴きなば汝兄弟を得たるべし。
16 But if he will not listen to you, go again, and ask one or two to go with you, that every word spoken may be attested by two or three witnesses.
汝に聴かずば、二三の證人の口によりて事の凡て定らん為に、一二人を伴へ、
17 If he refuses to hear them, appeal to the Church; and if he refuses to hear even the Church, regard him just as you regard a Gentile or a tax-gatherer.
若是等に聴かずば教會に告げよ、教會にも聴かずば、汝に取りて異邦人税吏の如き者と見視做すべし。
18 I solemnly tell you that whatever you as a Church bind on earth will in Heaven be held as bound, and whatever you loose on earth will in Heaven be held to be loosed.
我誠に汝等に告ぐ、総て汝等が地上にて繋がん所は、天にても繋がるべし、又総て汝等が地上にて釈かん所は、天にても釈かるべし。
19 I also solemnly tell you that if two of you here on earth agree together concerning anything whatever that they shall ask, the boon will come to them from my Father who is in Heaven.
我更に汝等に告ぐ、若汝等の中二人地上にて同意せば、何事を願ふとも、天に在す我父より賜はるべし。
20 For where there are two or three assembled in my name, there am I in the midst of them."
蓋我名を以て二三人相集れる處には、我其中に在り、と。
21 At this point Peter came to Him with the question, "Master, how often shall my brother act wrongly towards me and I forgive him? seven times?"
時にペトロイエズスに近づきて云ひけるは、主よ、我兄弟の我に罪を犯すを、幾度か宥すべき、七度までか。
22 "I do not say seven times," answered Jesus, "but seventy times seven times.
イエズス曰ひけるは、我汝に七度までとは云はず、七度を七十倍するまでせよ。
23 "For this reason the Kingdom of the Heavens may be compared to a king who determined to have a settlement of accounts with his servants.
然れば天國は、其臣下に會計せしめんとせる王の如し、
24 But as soon as he began the settlement, one was brought before him who owed 10,000 talents,
會計を始めしに、王に一萬タレントの負債ある者差出されしが、
25 and was unable to pay. So his master ordered that he and his wife and children and everything that he had should be sold, and payment be made.
返す術なき儘に、主君は彼と、其妻子と凡ての所有物とを売りて還す事を命ぜり。
26 The servant therefore falling down, prostrated himself at his feet and entreated him. "'Only give me time,' he said, 'and I will pay you the whole.'
然るに其臣下平伏して願ひけるは、暫く我を忍容し給へ、我悉く返済せん、と。
27 "Whereupon his master, touched with compassion, set him free and forgave him the debt.
主君其臣下を憐みて之を許し、其負債をも免せり。
28 But no sooner had that servant gone out, than he met with one of his fellow servants who owed him 100 shillings; and seizing him by the throat and nearly strangling him he exclaimed, "'Pay me all you owe.'
然て彼臣下出でて、己に百デナリオの負債ある、一人の同僚に遇ひしかば、負債を還せと云ひつつ、執へて其喉を扼むるに、
29 "His fellow servant therefore fell at his feet and entreated him, "'Only give me time,' he said, 'and I will pay you.'
同僚平伏して、姑く我を忍容し給へ、我悉く返済せん、と願へども、
30 "He would not, however, but went and threw him into prison until he should pay what was due.
彼肯ぜずして去り、負債を還すまで之を監獄に入れたり。
31 His fellow servants, therefore, seeing what had happened, were exceedingly angry; and they came and told their master without reserve all that had happened.
同僚等は、其顛末を見て甚く憂ひ、來りて事の次第を悉く主君に語りしかば、
32 At once his master called him and said, "'Wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you entreated me:
主君彼を召して云ひけるは、汝兇惡の臣、汝の願に因りて、我悉く負債を汝に免せり、
33 ought not you also to have had pity on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?'
然れば我が汝を憐みし如く、汝も亦同僚を憐むべかりしに非ずや、と。
34 "So his master, greatly incensed, handed him over to the jailers until he should pay all he owed him.
斯て主君怒りて、負債を盡く還すまで彼を刑吏に付せり。
35 "In the same way my Heavenly Father will deal with you, if you do not all of you forgive one another from your hearts."
汝等若各心より己が兄弟を宥さずば、我が天父も亦、汝等に斯の如く為し給ふべし。
