Matthew 17
1 Six day later, Jesus took with Him Peter and the brothers James and John, and brought them up a high mountain to a solitary place.
௧ஆறு நாட்களுக்குப்பின்பு, இயேசு பேதுருவையும் யாக்கோபையும் அவனுடைய சகோதரனாகிய யோவானையும் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு தனித்திருக்கும்படி உயர்ந்த மலையின்மேல்போய்,
2 There in their presence His form underwent a change; His face shone like the sun, and His raiment became as white as the light.
௨அவர்களுக்கு முன்பாக மறுரூபமடைந்தார்; அவருடைய முகம் சூரியனைப்போலப் பிரகாசித்தது, அவருடைய உடை ஒளியைப்போல வெண்மையானது.
3 And suddenly Moses and Elijah appeared to them conversing with Him.
௩அப்பொழுது மோசேயும் எலியாவும் அவரோடு பேசுகிறவர்களாக அவர்களுக்குக் காணப்பட்டார்கள்.
4 Then Peter said to Jesus, "Master, we are thankful to you that we are here. If you approve, I will put up three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
௪அப்பொழுது பேதுரு இயேசுவைப் பார்த்து: ஆண்டவரே, நாம் இங்கே இருக்கிறது நல்லது; உமக்கு விருப்பமானால், இங்கே உமக்கு ஒரு கூடாரமும், மோசேக்கு ஒரு கூடாரமும், எலியாவிற்கு ஒரு கூடாரமுமாக, மூன்று கூடாரங்களைப் போடுவோம் என்றான்.
5 He was still speaking when a luminous cloud spread over them; and a voice was heard from within the cloud, which said, "This is My Son dearly beloved, in whom is My delight. Listen to Him."
௫அவன் பேசும்போது, இதோ, ஒளியுள்ள ஒரு மேகம் அவர்கள்மேல் நிழலிட்டது. இவர் என்னுடைய நேசகுமாரன், இவரில் பிரியமாக இருக்கிறேன், இவருக்குச் செவிகொடுங்கள் என்று அந்த மேகத்திலிருந்து ஒரு சத்தம் உண்டானது.
6 On hearing this voice, the disciples fell on their faces and were filled with terror.

7 But Jesus came and touched them, and said, "Rouse yourselves and have no fear."
௭அப்பொழுது, இயேசு வந்து, அவர்களைத் தொட்டு: எழுந்திருங்கள், பயப்படாமலிருங்கள் என்றார்.
8 So they looked up, and saw no one but Jesus.
௮அவர்கள் தங்களுடைய கண்களை ஏறெடுத்துப் பார்க்கும்போது இயேசுவைத்தவிர வேறொருவரையும் காணவில்லை.
9 As they were descending the mountain, Jesus laid a command upon them. "Tell no one," He said, "of the sight you have seen till the Son of Man has risen from among the dead."
௯அவர்கள் மலையிலிருந்து இறங்குகிறபோது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மனிதகுமாரன் மரித்தோரிலிருந்து உயிரோடு எழுந்திருக்கும்வரைக்கும் இந்தத் தரிசனத்தை ஒருவருக்கும் சொல்லவேண்டாம் என்று கட்டளையிட்டார்.
10 "Why then," asked the disciples, "do the Scribes say that Elijah must first come?"
௧0அப்பொழுது, அவருடைய சீடர்கள் அவரைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியானால் எலியா முந்தி வரவேண்டும் என்று வேதபண்டிதர்கள் சொல்லுகிறார்களே, அது எப்படியென்று கேட்டார்கள்.
11 "Elijah was indeed to come," He replied, "and would reform everything.
௧௧இயேசு அவர்களுக்கு மறுமொழியாக: எலியா முந்திவந்து எல்லாவற்றையும் ஒழுங்குபடுத்துவது உண்மைதான்.
12 But I tell you that he has already come, and they did not recognize him, but dealt with him as they chose. And before long the Son of Man will be treated by them in a similar way."
௧௨ஆனாலும், எலியா வந்தாயிற்று என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; அவனை அறியாமல் தங்களுடைய விருப்பப்படி அவனுக்குச் செய்தார்கள்; இவ்விதமாக மனிதகுமாரனும் அவர்களால் பாடுகள்படுவார் என்றார்.
13 Then it dawned upon the disciples that it was John the Baptist about whom He had spoken to them.
௧௩அவர் யோவான்ஸ்நானனைக்குறித்துத் தங்களுக்குச் சொன்னார் என்று சீடர்கள் அப்பொழுது அறிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
14 When they had returned to the people, there came to Him a man who fell on his knees before Him and besought Him.
௧௪அவர்கள் மக்களிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, ஒரு மனிதன் அவரிடத்தில் வந்து, அவர் முன்பாக முழங்கால்படியிட்டு:
15 "Sir," he said, "have pity on my son, for he is an epileptic and is very ill. Often he falls into the fire and often into the water.
௧௫ஆண்டவரே, என் மகனுக்கு இரங்கும், அவன் வலிப்பு வியாதியினால் கொடிய வேதனைப்படுகிறான்; அடிக்கடி தீயிலும், அடிக்கடி தண்ணீரிலும் விழுகிறான்.
16 I have brought him to your disciples, and they have not been able to cure him."
௧௬அவனை உம்முடைய சீடர்களிடம் கொண்டுவந்தேன்; அவனை குணமாக்க அவர்களால் முடியாமற்போனது என்றான்.
17 "O unbelieving and perverse generation!" replied Jesus; "how long shall I be with you? how long shall I endure you? Bring him to me."
௧௭இயேசு மறுமொழியாக: விசுவாசமில்லாத மாறுபாடுள்ள சந்ததியே, எதுவரைக்கும் நான் உங்களோடு இருப்பேன்? எதுவரைக்கும் உங்களிடம் பொறுமையாக இருப்பேன்? அவனை என்னிடத்தில் கொண்டுவாருங்கள் என்றார்.
18 Then Jesus reprimanded the demon, and it came out and left him; and the boy was cured from that moment.
௧௮இயேசு பிசாசை அதட்டினார்; உடனே அது அவனைவிட்டுப் வெளியேபோனது; அந்த நேரமே அந்த இளைஞன் குணமானான்.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and asked Him, "Why could not we expel the demon?"
௧௯அப்பொழுது, சீடர்கள் இயேசுவினிடத்தில் தனிமையில் வந்து: அதைத் துரத்திவிட எங்களால் ஏன் முடியாமற்போனது என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
20 "Because your faith is so small," He replied; "for I solemnly declare to you that if you have faith like a mustard-seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Remove from this place to that,' and it will remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.
௨0அதற்கு இயேசு: உங்களுடைய விசுவாசக்குறைவினாலேதான்; கடுகுவிதையளவு விசுவாசம் உங்களுக்கு இருந்தால் நீங்கள் இந்த மலையைப் பார்த்து, இந்த இடத்தைவிட்டு அப்புறம் போ என்று சொல்ல அது அப்புறம் போகும்; உங்களால் செய்யமுடியாத காரியம் ஒன்றுமிராது என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
21 But an evil spirit of this kind is only driven out by prayer and fasting."
௨௧இந்த வகைப் பிசாசு ஜெபத்தினாலும் உபவாசத்தினாலுமேதவிர மற்ற எவ்விதத்தினாலும் புறப்பட்டுப்போகாது என்றார்.
22 As they were travelling about in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men;
௨௨அவர்கள் கலிலேயாவிலே வாழ்ந்தபோது, இயேசு அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: மனிதகுமாரன் மனிதர்களுடைய கைகளில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவார்.
23 they will put Him to death, but on the third day He will be raised to life again." And they were exceedingly distressed.
௨௩அவர்கள் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்வார்கள்; ஆனாலும் மூன்றாம்நாளிலே உயிரோடு எழுந்திருப்பார் என்றார். அவர்கள் மிகுந்த துக்கமடைந்தார்கள்.
24 After their arrival at Capernaum the collectors of the half-shekel came and asked Peter, "Does not your Teacher pay the half-shekel?"
௨௪அவர்கள் கப்பர்நகூமில் வந்தபோது, வரிப்பணம் வாங்குகிறவர்கள் பேதுருவினிடத்தில் வந்து: உங்களுடைய போதகர் வரிப்பணம் செலுத்துகிறதில்லையா என்று கேட்டார்கள்; செலுத்துகிறார் என்றான்.
25 "Yes," he replied, and then went into the house. But before he spoke a word Jesus said, "What think you, Simon? From whom do this world's kings receive customs or capitation tax? from their own children, or from others?"
௨௫அவன் வீட்டிற்குள் வந்தபோது, அவன் பேசுகிறதற்கு முன்னமே இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: சீமோனே, உனக்கு எப்படித் தோன்றுகிறது? பூமியின் ராஜாக்கள் வருமானவரியையும் மற்ற வரியையும் தங்களுடைய பிள்ளைகளிடத்திலோ, அந்நியர்களிடத்திலோ, யாரிடத்தில் வாங்குகிறார்கள் என்று கேட்டார்.
26 "From others," he replied. "Then the children go free," said Jesus.
௨௬அதற்குப் பேதுரு: அந்நியர்களிடத்தில் வாங்குகிறார்கள் என்றான். இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: அப்படியானால் பிள்ளைகள் அதைச் செலுத்தவேண்டியதில்லையே.
27 "However, lest we cause them to sin, go and throw a hook into the Lake, and take the first fish that comes up. When you open its mouth, you will find a shekel in it: bring that coin and give it to them for yourself and me."
௨௭ஆனாலும், நாம் அவர்களுக்கு இடறலாக இல்லாதபடிக்கு, நீ கடலுக்குப்போய், தூண்டில்போட்டு, முதலாவது அகப்படுகிற மீனைப் பிடித்து, அதின் வாயைத் திறந்துபார்; ஒரு வெள்ளிக்காசைக் காண்பாய்; அதை எடுத்து எனக்காகவும் உனக்காகவும் அவர்களிடம் கொடு என்றார்.
