Matthew 12
1 About that time Jesus passed on the Sabbath through the wheatfields; and His disciples became hungry, and began to gather ears of wheat and eat them.
അനന്തരം യീശു ർവിശ്രാമവാരേ ശ്സ്യമധ്യേന ഗച്ഛതി, തദാ തച്ഛിഷ്യാ ബുഭുക്ഷിതാഃ സന്തഃ ശ്സ്യമഞ്ജരീശ്ഛത്വാ ഛിത്വാ ഖാദിതുമാരഭന്ത|
2 But the Pharisees saw it and said to Him, "Look! your disciples are doing what the Law forbids them to do on the Sabbath."
തദ് വിലോക്യ ഫിരൂശിനോ യീശും ജഗദുഃ, പശ്യ വിശ്രാമവാരേ യത് കർമ്മാകർത്തവ്യം തദേവ തവ ശിഷ്യാഃ കുർവ്വന്തി|
3 "Have you never read," He replied, "what David did when he and his men were hungry?
സ താൻ പ്രത്യാവദത, ദായൂദ് തത്സങ്ഗിനശ്ച ബുഭുക്ഷിതാഃ സന്തോ യത് കർമ്മാകുർവ്വൻ തത് കിം യുഷ്മാഭി ർനാപാഠി?
4 how he entered the House of God and ate the Presented Loaves, which it was not lawful for him or his men to eat, nor for any except the priests?
യേ ദർശനീയാഃ പൂപാഃ യാജകാൻ വിനാ തസ്യ തത്സങ്ഗിമനുജാനാഞ്ചാഭോജനീയാസ്ത ഈശ്വരാവാസം പ്രവിഷ്ടേന തേന ഭുക്താഃ|
5 And have you not read in the Law how on the Sabbath the priests in the Temple break the Sabbath without incurring guilt?
അന്യച്ച വിശ്രാമവാരേ മധ്യേമന്ദിരം വിശ്രാമവാരീയം നിയമം ലങ്വന്തോപി യാജകാ നിർദോഷാ ഭവന്തി, ശാസ്ത്രമധ്യേ കിമിദമപി യുഷ്മാഭി ർന പഠിതം?
6 But I tell you that there is here that which is greater than the Temple.
യുഷ്മാനഹം വദാമി, അത്ര സ്ഥാനേ മന്ദിരാദപി ഗരീയാൻ ഏക ആസ്തേ|
7 And if you knew what this means, 'It is mercy I desire, not sacrifice', you would not have condemned those who are without guilt.
കിന്തു ദയായാം മേ യഥാ പ്രീതി ർന തഥാ യജ്ഞകർമ്മണി| ഏതദ്വചനസ്യാർഥം യദി യുയമ് അജ്ഞാസിഷ്ട തർഹി നിർദോഷാൻ ദോഷിണോ നാകാർഷ്ട|
8 For the Son of Man is the Lord of the Sabbath."
അന്യച്ച മനുജസുതോ വിശ്രാമവാരസ്യാപി പതിരാസ്തേ|
9 Departing thence He went to their synagogue,
അനന്തരം സ തത്സ്ഥാനാത് പ്രസ്ഥായ തേഷാം ഭജനഭവനം പ്രവിഷ്ടവാൻ, തദാനീമ് ഏകഃ ശുഷ്കകരാമയവാൻ ഉപസ്ഥിതവാൻ|
10 where there was a man with a shrivelled arm. And they questioned Him, "Is it right to cure people on the Sabbath?" Their intention was to bring a charge against Him.
തതോ യീശുമ് അപവദിതും മാനുഷാഃ പപ്രച്ഛുഃ, വിശ്രാമവാരേ നിരാമയത്വം കരണീയം ന വാ?
11 "Which of you is there," He replied, "who, if he has but a single sheep and it falls into a hole on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?
തേന സ പ്രത്യുവാച, വിശ്രാമവാരേ യദി കസ്യചിദ് അവി ർഗർത്തേ പതതി, തർഹി യസ്തം ഘൃത്വാ ന തോലയതി, ഏതാദൃശോ മനുജോ യുഷ്മാകം മധ്യേ ക ആസ്തേ?
12 Is not a man, however, far superior to a sheep? Therefore it is right to do good on the Sabbath."
അവേ ർമാനവഃ കിം നഹി ശ്രേയാൻ? അതോ വിശ്രാമവാരേ ഹിതകർമ്മ കർത്തവ്യം|
13 Then He said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." And he stretched it out, and it was restored quite sound like the other.
അനന്തരം സ തം മാനവം ഗദിതവാൻ, കരം പ്രസാരയ; തേന കരേ പ്രസാരിതേ സോന്യകരവത് സ്വസ്ഥോഽഭവത്|
14 But the Pharisees after leaving the synagogue consulted together against Him, how they might destroy Him.
തദാ ഫിരൂശിനോ ബഹിർഭൂയ കഥം തം ഹനിഷ്യാമ ഇതി കുമന്ത്രണാം തത്പ്രാതികൂല്യേന ചക്രുഃ|
15 Aware of this, Jesus departed elsewhere; and a great number of people followed Him, all of whom He cured.
തതോ യീശുസ്തദ് വിദിത്വാ സ്ഥനാന്തരം ഗതവാൻ; അന്യേഷു ബഹുനരേഷു തത്പശ്ചാദ് ഗതേഷു താൻ സ നിരാമയാൻ കൃത്വാ ഇത്യാജ്ഞാപയത്,
16 But He gave them strict injunctions not to blaze abroad His doings,
യൂയം മാം ന പരിചായയത|
17 that those words of the Prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled,
തസ്മാത് മമ പ്രീയോ മനോനീതോ മനസസ്തുഷ്ടികാരകഃ| മദീയഃ സേവകോ യസ്തു വിദ്യതേ തം സമീക്ഷതാം| തസ്യോപരി സ്വകീയാത്മാ മയാ സംസ്ഥാപയിഷ്യതേ| തേനാന്യദേശജാതേഷു വ്യവസ്ഥാ സംപ്രകാശ്യതേ|
18 "This is My servant whom I have chosen, My dearly loved One in whom My soul takes pleasure. I will put My spirit upon Him, and He will announce justice to the nations.
കേനാപി ന വിരോധം സ വിവാദഞ്ച കരിഷ്യതി| ന ച രാജപഥേ തേന വചനം ശ്രാവയിഷ്യതേ|
19 He will not wrangle or raise His voice, nor will His voice be heard in the broadways.
വ്യവസ്ഥാ ചലിതാ യാവത് നഹി തേന കരിഷ്യതേ| താവത് നലോ വിദീർണോഽപി ഭംക്ഷ്യതേ നഹി തേന ച| തഥാ സധൂമവർത്തിഞ്ച ന സ നിർവ്വാപയിഷ്യതേ|
20 A crushed reed He will not utterly break, nor will He quench the still smouldering wick, until He has led on Justice to victory.
പ്രത്യാശാഞ്ച കരിഷ്യന്തി തന്നാമ്നി ഭിന്നദേശജാഃ|
21 And on His name shall the nations rest their hopes."
യാന്യേതാനി വചനാനി യിശയിയഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനാ പ്രോക്താന്യാസൻ, താനി സഫലാന്യഭവൻ|
22 At that time a demoniac was brought to Him, blind and dumb; and He cured him, so that the dumb man could speak and see.
അനന്തരം ലോകൈ സ്തത്സമീപമ് ആനീതോ ഭൂതഗ്രസ്താന്ധമൂകൈകമനുജസ്തേന സ്വസ്ഥീകൃതഃ, തതഃ സോഽന്ധോ മൂകോ ദ്രഷ്ടും വക്തുഞ്ചാരബ്ധവാൻ|
23 And the crowds of people were all filled with amazement and said, "Can this be the Son of David?"
അനേന സർവ്വേ വിസ്മിതാഃ കഥയാഞ്ചക്രുഃ, ഏഷഃ കിം ദായൂദഃ സന്താനോ നഹി?
24 The Pharisees heard it and said, "This man only expels demons by the power of Baal-zebul, the Prince of demons."
കിന്തു ഫിരൂശിനസ്തത് ശ്രുത്വാ ഗദിതവന്തഃ, ബാൽസിബൂബ്നാമ്നോ ഭൂതരാജസ്യ സാഹായ്യം വിനാ നായം ഭൂതാൻ ത്യാജയതി|
25 Knowing their thoughts He said to them, "Every kingdom in which civil war has raged suffers desolation; and every city or house in which there is internal strife will be brought low.
തദാനീം യീശുസ്തേഷാമ് ഇതി മാനസം വിജ്ഞായ താൻ അവദത് കിഞ്ചന രാജ്യം യദി സ്വവിപക്ഷാദ് ഭിദ്യതേ, തർഹി തത് ഉച്ഛിദ്യതേ; യച്ച കിഞ്ചന നഗരം വാ ഗൃഹം സ്വവിപക്ഷാദ് വിഭിദ്യതേ, തത് സ്ഥാതും ന ശക്നോതി|
26 And if Satan is expelling Satan, he has begun to make war on himself: how therefore shall his kingdom last?
തദ്വത് ശയതാനോ യദി ശയതാനം ബഹിഃ കൃത്വാ സ്വവിപക്ഷാത് പൃഥക് പൃഥക് ഭവതി, തർഹി തസ്യ രാജ്യം കേന പ്രകാരേണ സ്ഥാസ്യതി?
27 And if it is by Baal-zebul's power that I expel the demons, by whose power do your disciples expel them? They therefore shall be your judges.
അഹഞ്ച യദി ബാൽസിബൂബാ ഭൂതാൻ ത്യാജയാമി, തർഹി യുഷ്മാകം സന്താനാഃ കേന ഭൂതാൻ ത്യാജയന്തി? തസ്മാദ് യുഷ്മാകമ് ഏതദ്വിചാരയിതാരസ്ത ഏവ ഭവിഷ്യന്തി|
28 But if it is by the power of the Spirit of God that I expel the demons, it is evident that the Kingdom of God has come upon you.
കിന്തവഹം യദീശ്വരാത്മനാ ഭൂതാൻ ത്യാജയാമി, തർഹീശ്വരസ്യ രാജ്യം യുഷ്മാകം സന്നിധിമാഗതവത്|
29 Again, how can any one enter the house of a strong man and carry off his goods, unless first of all he masters and secures the strong man: then he will ransack his house.
അന്യഞ്ച കോപി ബലവന്ത ജനം പ്രഥമതോ ന ബദ്വ്വാ കേന പ്രകാരേണ തസ്യ ഗൃഹം പ്രവിശ്യ തദ്ദ്രവ്യാദി ലോഠയിതും ശക്നോതി? കിന്തു തത് കൃത്വാ തദീയഗൃസ്യ ദ്രവ്യാദി ലോഠയിതും ശക്നോതി|
30 "The man who is not with me is against me, and he who is not gathering with me is scattering abroad.
യഃ കശ്ചിത് മമ സ്വപക്ഷീയോ നഹി സ വിപക്ഷീയ ആസ്തേ, യശ്ച മയാ സാകം ന സംഗൃഹ്ലാതി, സ വികിരതി|
31 This is why I tell you that men may find forgiveness for every other sin and impious word, but that for impious speaking against the Holy Spirit they shall find no forgiveness.
അതഏവ യുഷ്മാനഹം വദാമി, മനുജാനാം സർവ്വപ്രകാരപാപാനാം നിന്ദായാശ്ച മർഷണം ഭവിതും ശക്നോതി, കിന്തു പവിത്രസ്യാത്മനോ വിരുദ്ധനിന്ദായാ മർഷണം ഭവിതും ന ശക്നോതി|
32 And whoever shall speak against the Son of Man may obtain forgiveness; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, neither in this nor in the coming age shall he obtain forgiveness." (aiōn g165)
യോ മനുജസുതസ്യ വിരുദ്ധാം കഥാം കഥയതി, തസ്യാപരാധസ്യ ക്ഷമാ ഭവിതും ശക്നോതി, കിന്തു യഃ കശ്ചിത് പവിത്രസ്യാത്മനോ വിരുദ്ധാം കഥാം കഥയതി നേഹലോകേ ന പ്രേത്യ തസ്യാപരാധസ്യ ക്ഷമാ ഭവിതും ശക്നോതി| (aiōn g165)
33 "Either grant the tree to be wholesome and its fruit wholesome, or the tree poisonous and its fruit poisonous; for the tree is known by its fruit.
പാദപം യദി ഭദ്രം വദഥ, തർഹി തസ്യ ഫലമപി സാധു വക്തവ്യം, യദി ച പാദപം അസാധും വദഥ, തർഹി തസ്യ ഫലമപ്യസാധു വക്തവ്യം; യതഃ സ്വീയസ്വീയഫലേന പാദപഃ പരിചീയതേ|
34 O vipers' brood, how can you speak what is good when you are evil? For it is from the overflow of the heart that the mouth speaks.
രേ ഭുജഗവംശാ യൂയമസാധവഃ സന്തഃ കഥം സാധു വാക്യം വക്തും ശക്ഷ്യഥ? യസ്മാദ് അന്തഃകരണസ്യ പൂർണഭാവാനുസാരാദ് വദനാദ് വചോ നിർഗച്ഛതി|
35 A good man from his good store produces good things, and a bad man from his bad store produces bad things.
തേന സാധുർമാനവോഽന്തഃകരണരൂപാത് സാധുഭാണ്ഡാഗാരാത് സാധു ദ്രവ്യം നിർഗമയതി, അസാധുർമാനുഷസ്ത്വസാധുഭാണ്ഡാഗാരാദ് അസാധുവസ്തൂനി നിർഗമയതി|
36 But I tell you that for every careless word that men shall speak they will be held accountable on the day of Judgement.
കിന്ത്വഹം യുഷ്മാൻ വദാമി, മനുജാ യാവന്ത്യാലസ്യവചാംസി വദന്തി, വിചാരദിനേ തദുത്തരമവശ്യം ദാതവ്യം,
37 For each of you by his words shall be justified, or by his words shall be condemned."
യതസ്ത്വം സ്വീയവചോഭി ർനിരപരാധഃ സ്വീയവചോഭിശ്ച സാപരാധോ ഗണിഷ്യസേ|
38 Then He was accosted by some of the Scribes and of the Pharisees who said, "Teacher, we wish to see a sign given by you."
തദാനീം കതിപയാ ഉപാധ്യായാഃ ഫിരൂശിനശ്ച ജഗദുഃ, ഹേ ഗുരോ വയം ഭവത്തഃ കിഞ്ചന ലക്ഷ്മ ദിദൃക്ഷാമഃ|
39 "Wicked and faithless generation!" He replied, "they clamour for a sign, but none shall be given to them except the sign of the Prophet Jonah.
തദാ സ പ്രത്യുക്തവാൻ, ദുഷ്ടോ വ്യഭിചാരീ ച വംശോ ലക്ഷ്മ മൃഗയതേ, കിന്തു ഭവിഷ്യദ്വാദിനോ യൂനസോ ലക്ഷ്മ വിഹായാന്യത് കിമപി ലക്ഷ്മ തേ ന പ്രദർശയിഷ്യന്തേ|
40 For just as Jonah was three days in the sea-monster's belly, so will the Son of Man be three days in the heart of the earth.
യതോ യൂനമ് യഥാ ത്ര്യഹോരാത്രം ബൃഹന്മീനസ്യ കുക്ഷാവാസീത്, തഥാ മനുജപുത്രോപി ത്ര്യഹോരാത്രം മേദിന്യാ മധ്യേ സ്ഥാസ്യതി|
41 There will stand up men of Nineveh at the Judgement together with the present generation, and will condemn it; because they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and mark! there is One greater than Jonah here.
അപരം നീനിവീയാ മാനവാ വിചാരദിന ഏതദ്വംശീയാനാം പ്രതികൂലമ് ഉത്ഥായ താൻ ദോഷിണഃ കരിഷ്യന്തി, യസ്മാത്തേ യൂനസ ഉപദേശാത് മനാംസി പരാവർത്തയാഞ്ചക്രിരേ, കിന്ത്വത്ര യൂനസോപി ഗുരുതര ഏക ആസ്തേ|
42 The Queen of the south will awake at the Judgement together with the present generation, and will condemn it; because she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon, and mark! there is One greater than Solomon here.
പുനശ്ച ദക്ഷിണദേശീയാ രാജ്ഞീ വിചാരദിന ഏതദ്വംശീയാനാം പ്രതികൂലമുത്ഥായ താൻ ദോഷിണഃ കരിഷ്യതി യതഃ സാ രാജ്ഞീ സുലേമനോ വിദ്യായാഃ കഥാം ശ്രോതും മേദിന്യാഃ സീമ്ന ആഗച്ഛത്, കിന്തു സുലേമനോപി ഗുരുതര ഏകോ ജനോഽത്ര ആസ്തേ|
43 "No sooner however has the foul spirit gone out of the man, then he roams about in places where there is no water, seeking rest but finding none.
അപരം മനുജാദ് ബഹിർഗതോ ഽപവിത്രഭൂതഃ ശുഷ്കസ്ഥാനേന ഗത്വാ വിശ്രാമം ഗവേഷയതി, കിന്തു തദലഭമാനഃ സ വക്തി, യസ്മാ; നികേതനാദ് ആഗമം, തദേവ വേശ്മ പകാവൃത്യ യാമി|
44 Then he says, 'I will return to my house that I left;' and he comes and finds it unoccupied, swept clean, and in good order.
പശ്ചാത് സ തത് സ്ഥാനമ് ഉപസ്ഥായ തത് ശൂന്യം മാർജ്ജിതം ശോഭിതഞ്ച വിലോക്യ വ്രജൻ സ്വതോപി ദുഷ്ടതരാൻ അന്യസപ്തഭൂതാൻ സങ്ഗിനഃ കരോതി|
45 Then he goes and brings back with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they come in and dwell there; and in the end that man's condition becomes worse than it was at first. So will it be also with the present wicked generation."
തതസ്തേ തത് സ്ഥാനം പ്രവിശ്യ നിവസന്തി, തേന തസ്യ മനുജസ്യ ശേഷദശാ പൂർവ്വദശാതോതീവാശുഭാ ഭവതി, ഏതേഷാം ദുഷ്ടവംശ്യാനാമപി തഥൈവ ഘടിഷ്യതേ|
46 While He was still addressing the people His mother and His brothers were standing on the edge of the crowd desiring to speak to Him.
മാനവേഭ്യ ഏതാസാം കഥനാം കഥനകാലേ തസ്യ മാതാ സഹജാശ്ച തേന സാകം കാഞ്ചിത് കഥാം കഥയിതും വാഞ്ഛന്തോ ബഹിരേവ സ്ഥിതവന്തഃ|
47 So some one told Him, "Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and desire to speak to you."
തതഃ കശ്ചിത് തസ്മൈ കഥിതവാൻ, പശ്യ തവ ജനനീ സഹജാശ്ച ത്വയാ സാകം കാഞ്ചന കഥാം കഥയിതും കാമയമാനാ ബഹിസ്തിഷ്ഠന്തി|
48 "Who is my mother?" He said to the man; "and who are my brothers?"
കിന്തു സ തം പ്രത്യവദത്, മമ കാ ജനനീ? കേ വാ മമ സഹജാഃ?
49 And pointing to His disciples He added, "See here are my mother and my brothers.
പശ്ചാത് ശിഷ്യാൻ പ്രതി കരം പ്രസാര്യ്യ കഥിതവാൻ, പശ്യ മമ ജനനീ മമ സഹജാശ്ചൈതേ;
50 To obey my Father who is in Heaven--that is to be my brother and my sister and my mother."
യഃ കശ്ചിത് മമ സ്വർഗസ്ഥസ്യ പിതുരിഷ്ടം കർമ്മ കുരുതേ, സഏവ മമ ഭ്രാതാ ഭഗിനീ ജനനീ ച|
