Mark 5
1 So they arrived at the opposite shore of the Lake, in the country of the Gerasenes.
૧તેઓ સમુદ્રને પાર ગેરાસાનીઓના દેશમાં ગયા.
2 At once, on His landing, there came from the tombs to meet Him a man possessed by a foul spirit.
૨ઈસુ હોડીમાંથી ઊતર્યા, એટલે કબરસ્તાનમાંથી અશુદ્ધ આત્મા વળગેલો એક માણસ તેમને મળ્યો.
3 This man lived among the tombs, nor could any one now secure him even with a chain;
૩તે કબરસ્તાનોમાં રહેતો હતો; અને સાંકળોથી પણ કોઈ તેને બાંધી શકતું ન હતું;
4 for many a time he had been left securely bound in fetters and chains, but afterwards the chains lay torn link from link, and the fetters in fragments, and there was no one strong enough to master him.
૪કેમ કે તે ઘણીવાર બેડીઓ તથા સાંકળો વડે બંધાયો હતો, પણ તેણે સાંકળો તોડી નાખી તથા બેડીઓ ભાંગી નાખી હતી; કોઈ તેને વશ કરી શકતું ન હતું.
5 And constantly, day and night, he remained among the tombs or on the hills, shrieking, and mangling himself with sharp stones.
૫તે નિત્ય રાતદિવસ પહાડોમાં તથા કબરોમાં બૂમ પાડતો તથા પથ્થરોથી પોતાને ઘાયલ કરતો હતો.
6 And when he saw Jesus in the distance, he ran and threw himself at His feet,
૬પણ ઈસુને દૂરથી જોઈને તે દોડી આવ્યો અને તેમને પગે પડ્યો.
7 crying out in a loud voice, "What hast Thou to do with me, Jesus, Son of God Most High? In God's name I implore Thee not to torment me."
૭અને મોટે ઘાંટે પોકારીને બોલ્યો, ‘ઈસુ, પરાત્પર ઈશ્વરના દીકરા, મારે અને તમારે શું છે? હું તમને ઈશ્વરના સમ આપું છું કે, તમે મને પીડા ન આપો.’”
8 For He had said to him, "Foul spirit, come out of the man."
૮કેમ કે તેમણે તેને કહ્યું હતું કે, ‘અશુદ્ધ આત્મા, તું એ માણસમાંથી નીકળ.’”
9 Jesus also questioned him. "What is your name?" He said. "Legion," he replied, "for there are a host of us."
૯તેમણે તેને પૂછ્યું કે, ‘તારું નામ શું છે?’ તેણે ઉત્તર આપતાં કહ્યું કે, ‘મારું નામ સેના છે, કેમ કે અમે ઘણાં છીએ.’”
10 And he earnestly entreated Him not to send them away out of the country.
૧૦તેણે તેમને ઘણી વિનંતી કરી, કે તે તેઓને દેશમાંથી કાઢી મૂકે નહિ.
11 Feeding there, on the mountain slope, was a great herd of swine.
૧૧હવે ત્યાં પર્વતની બાજુ પર ભૂંડોનું એક મોટું ટોળું ચરતું હતું.
12 So they besought Jesus. "Send us to the swine," they said, "so that we may enter into them."
૧૨તેઓએ તેમને વિનંતી કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘તે ભૂંડોમાં અમે પ્રવેશીએ માટે અમને તેઓમાં મોકલો.
13 He gave them leave; and the foul spirits came out and entered into the swine, and the herd--about 2,000 in number--rushed headlong down the cliff into the Lake and were drowned in the Lake.
૧૩ઈસુએ તેઓને રજા આપી અને અશુદ્ધ આત્માઓ નીકળીને ભૂંડોમાં ગયા; તેઓ આશરે બે હજાર ભૂંડો હતાં. તે ટોળું ટેકરી પરથી સમુદ્રમાં ધસી પડ્યું; અને સમુદ્રમાં ડૂબી મર્યું.
14 The swineherds fled, and spread the news in town and country. So the people came to see what it was that had happened;
૧૪તેઓના ચરાવનારા ભાગ્યા. અને તેમણે શહેરમાં તથા ગામડાંઓમાં ખબર આપી; અને શું થયું તે જોવા લોકો બહાર આવ્યા.
15 and when they came to Jesus, they beheld the demoniac quietly seated, clothed and of sane mind--the man who had had the legion; and they were awe-stricken.
૧૫ઈસુની પાસે તેઓ આવ્યા ત્યારે દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલો હતો, એટલે જેનાંમાં સેના હતી, તેને તેઓએ બેઠેલો વસ્ત્ર પહેરેલો તથા હોશમાં આવેલો જોઈને તેઓ ગભરાઈ ગયા.
16 And those who had seen it told them the particulars of what had happened to the demoniac, and all about the swine.
૧૬દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગેલો કેવી રીતે તંદુરસ્ત થયો તેની તથા ભૂંડો સંબંધીની વાત જેઓએ જોઈ હતી તે તેઓએ લોકોને કહી.
17 Then they began entreating Him to depart from their district.
૧૭તેઓ ઈસુને તેમના પ્રદેશમાંથી નીકળી જવાની વિનંતી કરવા લાગ્યા કે ‘અમારા પ્રદેશમાંથી ચાલ્યા જાઓ.’”
18 As He was embarking, the man who had been possessed asked permission to accompany Him.
૧૮તે વહાણમાં ચઢતાં હતા એટલામાં જેને દુષ્ટાત્મા વળગ્યો હતો તેણે તેમની સાથે રહેવા સારુ વિનંતી કરી.
19 But He would not allow it. "Go home to your family," He said, "and report to them all that the Lord has done for you, and the mercy He has shown you."
૧૯પણ ઈસુએ તેને આવવા ન દીધો; પણ તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘તારે ઘરે તારાં લોકોની પાસે જા, અને પ્રભુએ તારે સારુ કેટલું બધું કર્યું છે અને તારા પર દયા રાખી છે, તેની ખબર તેઓને આપ.’”
20 So the man departed, and related publicly everywhere in the Ten Towns all that Jesus had done for him; and all were astonished.
૨૦તે ગયો અને ઈસુએ તેને સારુ કેટલું બધું કર્યું હતું તે દસનગરમાં પ્રગટ કરવા લાગ્યો; અને લોકો આશ્ચર્ય પામ્યા.
21 When Jesus had re-crossed in the boat to the other side, a vast multitude came crowding to Him; and He was on the shore of the Lake,
૨૧જયારે ઈસુ ફરી હોડીમાં બેસીને પેલે પાર ગયા, ત્યારે અતિ ઘણાં લોકો તેમની પાસે ભેગા થયા; અને ઈસુ સમુદ્રની પાસે હતા.
22 when there came one of the Wardens of the Synagogue--he was called Jair--who, on beholding Him, threw himself at His feet,
૨૨સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીઓમાંનો યાઈર નામે એક જણ આવ્યો અને તેમને જોઈને તેમના પગે પડયો;
23 and besought Him with many entreaties. "My little daughter," he said, "is at the point of death: I pray you come and lay your hands upon her, that she may recover and live."
૨૩તેણે તેમને ઘણી વિનંતી કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘મારી નાની દીકરી મરણતોલ માંદી છે; માટે આવીને તેને હાથ લગાડો એ સારુ કે તે સાજી થઈને જીવે.’”
24 And Jesus went with him. And a dense crowd followed Him, and thronged Him on all sides.
૨૪ઈસુ તેની સાથે ગયા; અને અતિ ઘણાં લોકો તેમની પાછળ ચાલ્યા અને તેમના પર પડાપડી કરી.
25 Now a woman who for twelve years had suffered from haemorrhage,
૨૫એક સ્ત્રી જેને બાર વર્ષોથી લોહીવા થયેલો હતો
26 and had undergone many different treatments under a number of doctors and had spent all she had without receiving benefit but on the contrary growing worse,
૨૬અને તેણે ઘણાં વૈદોથી ઘણું સહ્યું હતું, પોતાનું બધું ખરચી નાખ્યું હતું અને તેને કંઈ ફરક પડ્યો નહોતો, પણ તેથી ઊલટું વધારે બીમાર થઈ હતી,
27 heard of Jesus. And she came in the crowd behind Him and touched His cloak;
૨૭તે ઈસુ સંબંધીની વાતો સાંભળીને ભીડમાં તેમની પાછળ આવી અને તેમના ઝભ્ભાને અડકી.
28 for she said, "If I but touch His clothes, I shall be cured."
૨૮કેમ કે તેણે ધાર્યું કે, ‘જો હું માત્ર તેમના ઝભ્ભાને અડકું તો હું સાજી થઈશ.’”
29 In a moment the flow of her blood ceased, and she felt in herself that her complaint was cured.
૨૯તે જ ઘડીએ તેનો રક્તસ્રાવ બંધ થઈ ગયો અને શરીરમાં તેને લાગ્યું કે ‘હું બીમારીથી સાજી થઈ છું.’”
30 Immediately Jesus, well knowing that healing power had gone from within Him, turned round in the crowd and asked, "Who touched my clothes?"
૩૦મારામાંથી પરાક્રમ નીકળ્યું છે એવું પોતાને ખબર પડવાથી, ઈસુએ તરત લોકોની ભીડમાં પાછળ ફરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘કોણે મારા વસ્ત્રને સ્પર્શ કર્યો?’”
31 "You see the multitude pressing you on all sides," His disciples exclaimed, "and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'"
૩૧તેના શિષ્યોએ તેમને કહ્યું કે, ‘તમે જુઓ છો કે, ઘણાં લોકો તમારા પર પડાપડી કરે છે અને શું તમે કહો છો કે, કોણે મને સ્પર્શ કર્યો?’”
32 But He continued looking about to see the person who had done this,
૩૨જેણે એ કામ કર્યું તેને જોવા સારુ તેમણે આસપાસ નજર ફેરવી.
33 until the woman, frightened and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and threw herself at His feet, and told Him all the truth.
૩૩તે સ્ત્રી ડરતી તથા ધ્રૂજતી, તેને જે થયું તે જાણીને આવી, અને તેમના પગે પડી અને તેમને બધું સાચે સાચું કહ્યું.
34 "Daughter," He said, "your faith has cured you: go in peace, and be free from your complaint."
૩૪ઈસુએ તેને કહ્યું કે, ‘દીકરી, તારા વિશ્વાસે તને સાજી કરી છે; શાંતિએ જા અને તારી બીમારીથી મુક્ત થા.’”
35 While He is yet speaking, men come from the house to the Warden, and say, "Your daughter is dead: why trouble the Rabbi further?"
૩૫તે હજી બોલતા હતા એટલામાં સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીને ત્યાંથી લોકો આવીને કહે છે કે, ‘તારી દીકરી તો મરી ગઈ છે, તું હવે ઉપદેશકને તકલીફ શું કરવા આપે છે?’”
36 But Jesus, overhearing the words, said to the Warden, "Do not be afraid; only have faith."
૩૬પણ ઈસુ તે વાત પર ધ્યાન ન આપતાં સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીને કહે છે કે, ‘ગભરાઈશ નહિ, માત્ર વિશ્વાસ રાખ.’”
37 And He allowed no one to accompany Him except Peter and the brothers James and John.
૩૭અને પિતર, યાકૂબ, તથા યાકૂબના ભાઈ યોહાન સિવાય, તેમણે પોતાની સાથે કોઈને આવવા ન દીધાં.
38 So they come to the Warden's house. Here He gazes on a scene of uproar, with people weeping aloud and wailing.
૩૮સભાસ્થાનના અધિકારીના ઘરમાં તેઓ આવે છે; અને કલ્પાંત, રુદન તથા વિલાપ કરનારાઓને જુએ છે.
39 He goes in. "Why all this outcry and loud weeping?" He asks; "the child is asleep, not dead."
૩૯તે અંદર આવીને તેઓને કહે છે કે, ‘તમે કેમ કલ્પાંત કરો છો અને રડો છો? છોકરી મરી નથી ગઈ; પણ ઊંઘે છે.’”
40 To this their reply is a scornful laugh. He, however, puts them all out, takes the child's father and mother and those He has brought with Him, and enters the room where the child lies.
૪૦તેઓએ તેમને હસી કાઢ્યાં. પણ બધાને બહાર મોકલીને, છોકરીનાં માબાપને તથા જેઓ પોતાની સાથે હતા તેઓને લઈને, જ્યાં છોકરી હતી ત્યાં તે અંદર ગયા.
41 Then, taking her by the hand, He says to her, "Talitha, koum;" that is to say, "Little girl, I command you to wake!"
૪૧છોકરીનો હાથ પકડીને તેઓ તેને કહે છે કે, ‘ટલિથા કૂમ, જેનો અર્થ એ છે કે, છોકરી, હું તને કહું છું, ઊઠ.’”
42 Instantly the little girl rises to her feet and begins to walk (for she was twelve years old). They were at once beside themselves with utter astonishment;
૪૨તરત છોકરી ઊઠીને ચાલવા લાગી; કેમ કે તે બાર વર્ષની હતી; અને તેઓ ઘણાં વિસ્મિત થયાં.
43 but He gave strict injunctions that the matter should not be made known, and directed them to give her something to eat.
૪૩ઈસુએ તેઓને તાકીદ કરી કે, ‘કોઈ એ ન જાણે;’ અને તેમણે તેને કંઈ ખાવાનું આપવાની આજ્ઞા કરી.
