Luke 6
1 Now on the second-first Sabbath while He was passing through the wheatfields, His disciples were plucking the ears and rubbing them with their hands to eat the grain.
Одного разу в Суботу [Ісус] зі своїми учнями проходив через засіяні поля пшениці. Вони збирали колосся та, розтираючи їх руками, їли [зерна].
2 And some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what the Law forbids on the Sabbath?"
Тоді деякі з фарисеїв сказали: ―Чому ви робите те, чого не дозволено робити в Суботу?
3 "Have you never read so much as this," answered Jesus--"what David did when he and his followers were hungry;
Ісус у відповідь сказав їм: ―Ви не читали, що зробив Давид, коли зголоднів він, а також і ті, що були з ним?
4 how he entered the house of God and took and ate the Presented Loaves and gave some to his followers--loaves which none but the Priests are allowed to eat?"
Як увійшов у Дім Божий, узяв та з’їв хліби покладання, і як дав і тим, хто був із ним, хоча їх не дозволено було їсти нікому, окрім священників?
5 "The Son of Man," He added, "is Lord of the Sabbath also."
І додав: ―Син Людський – Господь Суботи.
6 On another Sabbath He had gone to the synagogue and was teaching there; and in the congregation was a man whose right arm was withered.
Довелося ж і в іншу Суботу увійти Йому в синагогу й навчати. Там був чоловік, у якого права рука всохла.
7 The Scribes and the Pharisees were on the watch to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath that they might be able to bring an accusation against Him.
Книжники та фарисеї уважно стежили за Ісусом, чи буде Він зцілювати в Суботу, щоб знайти обвинувачення проти Нього.
8 He knew their thoughts, and said to the man with the withered arm, "Rise, and stand there in the middle." And he rose and stood there.
Але Він, знаючи їхні думки, сказав чоловікові, що мав всохлу руку: «Підведися й стань посередині!» Той піднявся й став.
9 Then Jesus said to them, "I put it to you all whether we are allowed to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil; to save a life, or to destroy it."
Ісус промовив до них: «Я питаю вас: що дозволено робити в Суботу – добро чи зло? Спасти життя чи згубити?»
10 And looking round upon them all He said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He did so, and the arm was restored.
І, поглянувши на них усіх, сказав чоловікові: «Простягни свою руку!» Той зробив це, і його рука була зцілена.
11 But they were filled with madness, and began to discuss with one another what they should do to Jesus.
Вони ж розлютилися та [почали] радитись між собою, як вчинити з Ісусом.
12 About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.
У ті дні [Ісус] вийшов на гору, щоб молитись, і провів усю ніч у молитві до Бога.
13 When it was day, He called His disciples; and He selected from among them twelve, whom He also named Apostles.
Коли настав день, Він покликав учнів і обрав дванадцятьох, яких назвав апостолами:
14 These were Simon, to whom also He had given the name of Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;
Симона, якого назвав Петром, Андрія, його брата, Якова, Івана, Филипа, Варфоломія,
15 Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon called the Zealot;
Матвія, Фому, Якова, сина Алфеєвого, Симона, званого Зилотом,
16 James's relative Judas, and Judas Iscariot who proved to be a traitor.
Юду, [сина] Якова, і Юду Іскаріота, котрий потім став зрадником.
17 With these He came down till He reached a level place, where there was a great crowd of His disciples, and a multitude of people from every part of Judaea, from Jerusalem, and from the sea-side district of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases;
[Ісус], зійшовши разом із ними з гори, зупинився на рівному місці. Великий натовп Його учнів і велика кількість народу зі всієї Юдеї, Єрусалима та приморського Тира й Сидона
18 and those who were tormented by foul spirits were cured.
прийшли послухати Його та отримати зцілення від хвороб. Ті, що страждали від нечистих духів, теж були зцілені.
19 The whole crowd were eager to touch Him, because power went forth from him and cured every one.
Весь натовп хотів доторкнутися до Ісуса, бо від Нього виходила сила, яка зцілювала всіх.
20 Then fixing His eyes upon His disciples, Jesus said to them, "Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.
[Ісус], звівши очі на Своїх учнів, почав говорити: «Блаженні бідні, бо ваше є Царство Боже.
21 "Blessed are you who hunger now, because your hunger shall be satisfied. "Blessed are you who now weep aloud, because you shall laugh.
Блаженні голодні нині, бо будете насичені. Блаженні, що плачете тепер, бо ви зрадієте.
22 "Blessed are you when men shall hate you and exclude you from their society and insult you, and spurn your very names as evil things, for the Son of Man's sake.
Блаженні ви, коли люди зненавидять вас, коли проженуть вас, ображатимуть вас і відкидатимуть ваше ім’я як щось погане через Сина Людського.
23 "Be glad at such a time, and dance for joy; for your reward is great in Heaven; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the Prophets!
Радійте того дня й веселіться, бо велика ваша нагорода на небі. Так само робили з пророками їхні батьки.
24 "But alas for you rich men, because you already have your consolation!
Але горе вам, багатії, бо ви вже отримали всю вашу втіху.
25 "Alas for you who now have plenty to eat, because you will be hungry! "Alas for you who laugh now, because you will mourn and weep aloud!
Горе вам, ситі нині, бо будете голодувати. Горе вам, що радієте нині, бо будете плакати й ридати.
26 "Alas for you when men shall all have spoken well of you; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the false Prophets!
Горе вам, коли про вас говоритимуть добре всі люди, бо так робили лжепророкам їхні батьки.
27 "But to you who are listening to me I say, Love your enemies; seek the welfare of those who hate you;
Але вам, хто слухає, Я кажу: любіть ворогів ваших, робіть добро тим, хто ненавидить вас;
28 bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you.
благословляйте тих, хто проклинає вас; моліться за тих, хто кривдить вас.
29 To him who gives you a blow on one side of the face offer the other side also; and to him who is robbing you of your outer garment refuse not the under one also.
Тому, хто вдарив тебе по щоці, підстав і другу, а тому, хто забирає твій верхній одяг, не забороняй взяти й сорочку.
30 To every one who asks, give; and from him who takes away your property, do not demand it back.
Кожному, хто просить у тебе, дай, і від того, хто забере твоє, не проси назад.
31 And behave to your fellow men just as you would have them behave to you.
Як бажаєте, щоб вам робили люди, так само й ви робіть їм.
32 "If you love those who love you, what credit is it to you? Why, even bad men love those who love them.
Якщо ви любите [тільки] тих, хто любить вас, яка вам за це дяка? Адже й грішники люблять тих, хто любить їх.
33 And if you are kind to those who are kind to you, what credit is it to you? Even bad men act thus.
І якщо ви робите добро [тільки] тим, хто вам робить добро, яка вам за це дяка? Грішники так само роблять.
34 And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is it to you? Even bad men lend to their fellows so as to receive back an equal amount.
І якщо позичаєте [тільки] тим, від кого сподіваєтесь отримати, яка вам за це дяка? Грішники так само позичають, щоб отримати стільки ж.
35 Nevertheless love your enemies, be beneficent; and lend without hoping for any repayment. Then your recompense shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
Але ви любіть ворогів ваших, робіть добро й позичайте, не очікуючи нічого. І буде вам велика нагорода, будете синами Всевишнього, бо Він добрий до невдячних та злих.
36 Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.
Будьте милосердні, як і Отець ваш милосердний.
37 "Judge not, and you shall not be judged; condemn not, and you shall not be condemned; pardon, and you shall be pardoned;
Не судіть, і вас не судитимуть! Не засуджуйте, то й вас не засудять! Прощайте, то й вам проститься!
38 give, and gifts shall be bestowed on you. Full measure, pressed, shaken down, and running over, shall they pour into your laps; for with the same measure that you use they shall measure to you in return."
Давайте, і вам дадуть; доброю мірою, притиснутою, струснутою і переповненою дадуть вам. Бо якою мірою міряєте ви, такою ж виміряють і вам».
39 He also spoke to them in figurative language. "Can a blind man lead a blind man?" He asked; "would not both fall into the ditch?
Він також розповів їм притчу: «Чи може сліпий водити сліпого? Чи не впадуть обидва в яму?
40 There is no disciple who is superior to his teacher; but every one whose instruction is complete will be like his teacher.
Учень не вищий за свого вчителя, але, вдосконалившись, кожний стане, як його вчитель.
41 "And why look at the splinter in your brother's eye instead of giving careful attention to the beam in your own?
Чому ж ти дивишся на скалку в оці твого брата, а колоди у своєму оці не помічаєш?
42 How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take that splinter out of your eye,' when all the while you yourself do not see the beam in your own eye? Vain pretender! take the beam out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother's eye.
Як можеш сказати братові своєму: „Брате, дозволь вийняти скалку з твого ока“, якщо сам у твоєму оці колоди не бачиш? Лицеміре, витягни спочатку колоду зі свого ока, а тоді побачиш, як вийняти скалку з ока твого брата.
43 "There is no good tree that yields unsound fruit, nor again any unsound tree that yields good fruit.
Немає доброго дерева, яке приносило б поганий плід, і немає поганого дерева, яке б приносило добрий плід.
44 Every tree is known by its own fruit. It is not from thorns that men gather figs, nor from the bramble that they can get a bunch of grapes.
Бо кожне дерево пізнається за його плодом: не збирають смокви з терну й винограду з ожини.
45 A good man from the good stored up in his heart brings out what is good; and an evil man from the evil stored up brings out what is evil; for from the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
Добра людина з доброї скарбниці свого серця виносить добро, а погана людина з лихого скарбу свого серця виносить зло. Адже чим переповнене серце, те говорять її вуста.
46 "And why do you all call me 'Master, Master' and yet not do what I tell you?
Чому кличете Мене: „Господи! Господи!“, а не робите того, що Я кажу?
47 Every one who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them in practice, I will show you whom he is like.
Скажу вам, до кого подібний кожний, хто приходить до Мене, чує слова Мої та виконує їх.
48 He is like a man building a house, who digs and goes deep, and lays the foundation on the rock; and when a flood comes, the torrent bursts upon that house, but is unable to shake it, because it is securely built.
Він подібний до чоловіка, що, будуючи свій дім, вкопав глибоко та поклав основу на камені. Коли прийшла злива, і потік вдарив у той дім, то не зміг його похитнути, бо він був добре збудований.
49 But he who has heard and not practised is like a man who has built a house upon the soft soil without a foundation, against which the torrent bursts, and immediately it collapses, and terrible is the wreck and ruin of that house."
А той, хто слухає й не виконує, схожий на чоловіка, який збудував свій дім на землі, без основи. Коли вдарив потік, то він відразу впав, і руйнування того дому було велике».
