Luke 18
1 He also taught them by a parable that they must always pray and never lose heart.
௧சோர்ந்துபோகாமல் எப்பொழுதும் ஜெபம்பண்ணவேண்டும் என்பதைக்குறித்து அவர்களுக்கு அவர் ஒரு உவமையைச் சொன்னார்.
2 "In a certain town," He said, "there was a judge who had no fear of God and no respect for man.
௨ஒரு பட்டணத்திலே ஒரு நியாயாதிபதி இருந்தான்; அவன் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படாதவனும் மனிதர்களை மதிக்காதவனுமாக இருந்தான்.
3 And in the same town was a widow who repeatedly came and entreated him, saying, "'Give me justice and stop my oppressor.'
௩அந்தப் பட்டணத்திலே ஒரு விதவையும் இருந்தாள்; அவள் அவனிடத்தில் போய்: எனக்கும் என் எதிராளிக்கும் இருக்கிற காரியத்தில் எனக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்யவேண்டும் என்று விண்ணப்பம்பண்ணினாள்.
4 "For a time he would not, but afterwards he said to himself, "'Though I have neither reverence for God nor respect for man,
௪வெகுநாட்கள்வரை அவனுக்கு மனதில்லாதிருந்தது. பின்பு அவன்: நான் தேவனுக்குப் பயப்படாமலும் மனிதர்களை மதிக்காமலும் இருந்தும்,
5 yet because she annoys me I will give her justice, to prevent her from constantly coming to pester me.'"
௫இந்த விதவை என்னை எப்பொழுதும் தொந்தரவு செய்கிறபடியினால், இவள் அடிக்கடி வந்து என்னைத் தொந்தரவுசெய்யாதபடி இவளுக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்யவேண்டும் என்று தனக்குள்ளே சொல்லிக்கொண்டான் என்றார்.
6 And the Lord said, "Hear those words of the unjust judge.
௬பின்னும் கர்த்தர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: அநீதியுள்ள அந்த நியாயாதிபதி சொன்னதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள்.
7 And will not God avenge the wrongs of His own People who cry aloud to Him day and night, although He seems slow in taking action on their behalf?
௭அந்தப்படியே தேவன் தம்மை நோக்கி இரவும் பகலும் கூப்பிடுகிறவர்களாகிய தம்மால் தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்டவர்களின் காரியத்தில் நீடிய பொறுமையுள்ளவராக இருந்து அவர்களுக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்யாமலிருப்பாரோ?
8 Yes, He will soon avenge their wrongs. Yet, when the Son of Man comes, will He find faith on earth?"
௮சீக்கிரத்திலே அவர்களுக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்வார் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். ஆனாலும் மனிதகுமாரன் வரும்போது பூமியிலே விசுவாசத்தைக் காண்பாரோ என்றார்.
9 And to some who relied on themselves as being righteous men, and looked down upon all others, He addressed this parable.
௯அன்றியும், தங்களை நீதிமான்களென்று நம்பி, மற்றவர்களை அற்பமாக எண்ணின சிலரைக்குறித்து, அவர் ஒரு உவமையைச் சொன்னார்.
10 "Two men went up to the Temple to pray," He said; "one being a Pharisee and the other a tax-gatherer.
௧0இரண்டு மனிதர்கள் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்படி தேவாலயத்திற்குப் போனார்கள்; ஒருவன் பரிசேயன், மற்றவன் வரி வசூலிப்பவன்.
11 The Pharisee, standing erect, prayed as follows by himself: "'O God, I thank Thee that I am not like other people--I am not a thief nor a cheat nor an adulterer, nor do I even resemble this tax-gatherer.
௧௧பரிசேயன் நின்று: தேவனே! நான் கொள்ளைக்காரர்கள், அநியாயக்காரர்கள், விபசாரக்காரர்கள் ஆகிய மற்ற மனிதர்களைப்போலவும், இந்த வரி வசூலிப்பவனைப்போலவும் இராததினால் உமக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துகிறேன்.
12 I fast twice a week. I pay the tithe on all my gains.'
௧௨வாரத்தில் இரண்டுமுறை உபவாசிக்கிறேன்; என் சம்பாத்தியத்திலெல்லாம் பத்தில் ஒரு பங்கு காணிக்கை செலுத்தி வருகிறேன் என்று, தனக்குள்ளே ஜெபம்பண்ணினான்.
13 "But the tax-gatherer, standing far back, would not so much as lift his eyes to Heaven, but kept beating his breast and saying, "'O God, be reconciled to me, sinner that I am.'
௧௩வரி வசூலிப்பவன் தூரத்திலே நின்று, தன் கண்களையும் வானத்திற்கு ஏறெடுக்கத் துணியாமல், தன் மார்பிலே அடித்துக்கொண்டு: தேவனே! பாவியாகிய என்மேல் கிருபையாக இரும் என்றான்.
14 "I tell you that this man went home more thoroughly absolved from guilt than the other; for every one who uplifts himself will be humbled, but he who humbles himself will be uplifted."
௧௪அவனல்ல, இவனே நீதிமானாக்கப்பட்டவனாகத் தன் வீட்டிற்குத் திரும்பிப்போனான் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்; ஏனென்றால், தன்னை உயர்த்துகிறவனெவனும் தாழ்த்தப்படுவான், தன்னைத் தாழ்த்துகிறவன் உயர்த்தப்படுவான் என்றார்.
15 On one occasion people also brought with them their infants, for Him to touch them; but the disciples, noticing this, proceeded to find fault with them.
௧௫பின்பு குழந்தைகளை அவர் தொடும்படிக்கு அவர்களை அவரிடத்தில் கொண்டுவந்தார்கள். சீடர்கள் அதைக் கண்டு, கொண்டுவந்தவர்களை அதட்டினார்கள்.
16 Jesus however called the infants to Him. "Let the little children come to me," He said; "do not hinder them; for it is to those who are childlike that the Kingdom of God belongs.
௧௬இயேசுவோ அவர்களைக் கொண்டுவரும்படி கட்டளையிட்டு: சிறு பிள்ளைகள் என்னிடத்தில் வருகிறதற்கு இடங்கொடுங்கள், அவர்களைத் தடைபண்ணாதிருங்கள்; தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் அப்படிப்பட்டவர்களுடையது.
17 I tell you in solemn truth that, whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a little child will certainly not enter it."
௧௭எவனாவது சிறு பிள்ளையைப்போல தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளாவிட்டால், அதில் பிரவேசிக்கமாட்டான் என்று உண்மையாகவே உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
18 The question was put to Him by a Ruler: "Good Rabbi, what shall I do to inherit the Life of the Ages?" (aiōnios g166)
௧௮அப்பொழுது தலைவன் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: நல்ல போதகரே, நித்தியஜீவனை பெற்றுக்கொள்வதற்க்கு நான் என்னசெய்யவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டான். (aiōnios g166)
19 "Why do you call me good?" replied Jesus; "there is no one good but One, namely God.
௧௯அதற்கு இயேசு: நீ என்னை நல்லவன் என்று சொல்லுவானேன்? தேவன் ஒருவர்தவிர நல்லவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லையே.
20 You know the Commandments: 'Do not commit adultery;' 'Do not murder;' 'Do not steal;' 'Do not lie in giving evidence;' 'Honour thy father and thy mother.'"
௨0விபசாரம் செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, கொலை செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, களவு செய்யாதிருப்பாயாக, பொய்ச்சாட்சி சொல்லாதிருப்பாயாக, உன் தகப்பனையும் உன் தாயையும் கனம்பண்ணுவாயாக என்கிற கட்டளைகளை நீ தெரிந்திருக்கிறாயே என்றார்.
21 "All of those," he replied, "I have kept from my youth."
௨௧அதற்கு அவன்: இவைகளையெல்லாம் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் கைக்கொண்டிருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.
22 On receiving this answer Jesus said to him, "There is still one thing wanting in you. Sell everything you possess and give the money to the poor, and you shall have wealth in Heaven; and then come, follow me."
௨௨இயேசு அதைக்கேட்டு: இன்னும் உன்னிடத்தில் ஒரு குறைவு உண்டு; உனக்கு உண்டானவைகளையெல்லாம் விற்றுத் தரித்திரர்களுக்குக் கொடு, அப்பொழுது பரலோகத்திலே உனக்கு செல்வம் உண்டாயிருக்கும்; பின்பு என்னைப் பின்பற்றிவா என்றார்.
23 But on hearing these words he was deeply sorrowful, for he was exceedingly rich.
௨௩அவன் அதிக செல்வந்தனானபடியினால், இதைக் கேட்டபொழுது, மிகுந்த துக்கமடைந்தான்.
24 Jesus saw his sorrow, and said, "With how hard a struggle do the possessors of riches ever enter the Kingdom of God!
௨௪அவன் மிகுந்த துக்கமடைந்ததை இயேசு கண்டு: செல்வந்தர்கள் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பது எவ்வளவு அரிதாக இருக்கிறது.
25 Why, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle's eye than for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God."
௨௫செல்வந்தன் தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தில் பிரவேசிப்பதைவிட, ஒட்டகமானது ஊசியின் காதிலே நுழைவது சுலபமாக இருக்கும் என்றார்.
26 "Who then can be saved?" exclaimed the hearers.
௨௬அதைக் கேட்டவர்கள்: அப்படியானால் யார் இரட்சிக்கப்படக்கூடும் என்றார்கள்.
27 "Things impossible with man," He replied, "are possible with God."
௨௭அதற்கு அவர்: மனிதர்களால் கூடாதவைகள் தேவனால் கூடும் என்றார்.
28 Then Peter said, "See, we have given up our homes and have followed you."
௨௮அப்பொழுது பேதுரு அவரை நோக்கி: இதோ, நாங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும்விட்டு, உம்மைப் பின்பற்றினோமே என்றான்.
29 "I solemnly tell you," replied Jesus, "that there is no one who has left house or wife, or brothers or parents or children, for the sake of God's Kingdom,
௨௯அதற்கு அவர்: தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தினிமித்தம் வீட்டையாவது, பெற்றோரையாவது, சகோதரர்களையாவது, மனைவியையாவது, பிள்ளைகளையாவது விட்டுவிட்ட எவனும்,
31 Then He drew the Twelve to Him and said, "See, we are going up to Jerusalem, and everything written in the Prophets which refers to the Son of Man will be fulfilled.
௩௧பின்பு அவர் பன்னிருவரையும் தம்மிடத்தில் அழைத்து: இதோ, எருசலேமுக்குப் போகிறோம், மனிதகுமாரனைக்குறித்துத் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளால் எழுதப்பட்டவைகளெல்லாம் நிறைவேறும்.
32 For He will be given up to the Gentiles, and be mocked, outraged and spit upon.
௩௨எப்படியென்றால், அவர் யூதரல்லாதவரிடத்தில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டு, பரிகாசமும் நிந்தையும் அடைந்து, துப்பப்படுவார்.
33 They will scourge Him and put Him to death, and on the third day He will rise to life again."
௩௩அவரை சாட்டையினால் அடித்து, கொலைசெய்வார்கள்; மூன்றாம்நாளிலே அவர் உயிரோடு எழுந்திருப்பார் என்றார்.
34 Nothing of this did they understand. The words were a mystery to them, nor could they see what He meant.
௩௪இவைகளில் ஒன்றையும் அவர்கள் உணரவில்லை; அவைகளின் பொருள் அவர்களுக்கு மறைவாக இருந்தது, அவர் சொன்னவைகளை அவர்கள் அறிந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.
35 As Jesus came near to Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the way-side begging.
௩௫பின்பு இயேசு எரிகோவிற்கு சமீபமாக வந்தபோது, ஒரு குருடன் வழியருகே உட்கார்ந்து பிச்சை கேட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.
36 He heard a crowd of people going past, and inquired what it all meant.
௩௬மக்கள் நடக்கிற சத்தத்தை அவன் கேட்டு, இதென்ன என்று விசாரித்தான்.
37 "Jesus the Nazarene is passing by," they told him.
௩௭நசரேயனாகிய இயேசு போகிறார் என்று அவனுக்கு அறிவித்தார்கள். அப்பொழுது அவன்: இயேசுவே, தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று கூப்பிட்டான்.
38 Then, at the top of his voice, he cried out, "Jesus, son of David, take pity on me."
௩௮முன் நடப்பவர்கள் அவன் பேசாமலிருக்கும்படி அவனை அதட்டினார்கள். அவனோ: இயேசுவே தாவீதின் குமாரனே, எனக்கு இரங்கும் என்று மிகவும் அதிகமாகக் கூப்பிட்டான்.
39 Those in front reproved him and tried to silence him; but he continued shouting, louder than ever, "Son of David, take pity on me."
௩௯இயேசு நின்று, அவனைத் தம்மிடத்தில் கொண்டுவரும்படி சொன்னார்.
40 At length Jesus stopped and desired them to bring the man to Him; and when he had come close to Him He asked him,
௪0அவன் அருகில் வந்தபோது, இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி:
41 "What shall I do for you?" "Sir," he replied, "let me recover my sight."
௪௧நான் உனக்கு என்னசெய்யவேண்டும் என்றிருக்கிறாய் என்று கேட்டார். அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, நான் பார்வையடையவேண்டும் என்றான்.
42 "Recover your sight," said Jesus: "your faith has cured you."
௪௨இயேசு அவனை நோக்கி: நீ பார்வையடைவாயாக, உன் விசுவாசம் உன்னை இரட்சித்தது என்றார்.
43 No sooner were the words spoken than the man regained his sight and followed Jesus, giving glory to God; and all the people, seeing it, gave praise to God.
௪௩உடனே அவன் பார்வையடைந்து, தேவனை மகிமைப்படுத்திக்கொண்டே, அவருக்குப் பின்னேசென்றான். மக்களெல்லோரும் அதைக் கண்டு, தேவனைப் புகழ்ந்தார்கள்.
