John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
౧ప్రారంభంలో వాక్కు ఉన్నాడు. ఆ వాక్కు దేవుడి దగ్గర ఉన్నాడు. ఆ వాక్కు దేవుడే.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
౨ఆ వాక్కు ప్రారంభంలో దేవుడితో ఉన్నాడు.
3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing that exists came into being.
౩సృష్టి అంతా ఆ వాక్కు ద్వారానే కలిగింది. ఉనికిలో ఉన్న వాటిలో ఏదీ ఆయన లేకుండా కలగలేదు.
4 In Him was Life, and that Life was the Light of men.
౪ఆయనలో జీవం ఉంది. ఆ జీవం సమస్త మానవాళికీ వెలుగుగా ఉంది.
5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overpowered it.
౫ఆ వెలుగు చీకటిలో ప్రకాశిస్తున్నది. చీకటి ఆ వెలుగును లొంగదీసుకోలేక పోయింది.
6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
౬దేవుని దగ్గర నుండి వచ్చిన ఒక వ్యక్తి ఉన్నాడు. అతని పేరు యోహాను.
7 He came as a witness, in order that he might give testimony concerning the Light--so that all might believe through him.
౭అందరూ తన ద్వారా ఆ వెలుగును నమ్మడం కోసం అతడు ఆ వెలుగుకు సాక్షిగా ఉండడానికి వచ్చాడు.
8 He was not the Light, but he existed that he might give testimony concerning the Light.
౮ఈ యోహానే ఆ వెలుగు కాదు. కానీ ఆ వెలుగును గురించి సాక్ష్యం చెప్పడానికి వచ్చాడు.
9 The true Light was that which illumines every man by its coming into the world.
౯లోకంలోకి వస్తున్న నిజమైన వెలుగు ఇదే. ఈ వెలుగు ప్రతి వ్యక్తినీ వెలిగిస్తూ ఉంది.
10 He was in the world, and the world came into existence through Him, and the world did not recognize Him.
౧౦లోకం అంతా ఆయన ద్వారానే కలిగింది. ఆయన లోకంలో ఉన్నాడు. అయినా లోకం ఆయనను తెలుసుకోలేదు.
11 He came to the things that were His own, and His own people gave Him no welcome.
౧౧ఆయన తన సొంత ప్రజల దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. కానీ వారు ఆయనను స్వీకరించలేదు.
12 But all who have received Him, to them--that is, to those who trust in His name--He has given the privilege of becoming children of God;
౧౨తనను ఎవరెవరు అంగీకరించారో, అంటే తన నామంలో నమ్మకం ఉంచారో, వారికందరికీ దేవుని పిల్లలు అయ్యే హక్కును ఆయన ఇచ్చాడు.
13 who were begotten as such not by human descent, nor through an impulse of their own nature, nor through the will of a human father, but from God.
౧౩వారంతా దేవుని వలన పుట్టినవారే గాని, వారి పుట్టుకకు రక్తమూ, శరీర వాంఛలూ, మనుషుల ఇష్టాలూ కారణం కానే కావు.
14 And the Word came in the flesh, and lived for a time in our midst, so that we saw His glory--the glory as of the Father's only Son, sent from His presence. He was full of grace and truth.
౧౪ఆ వాక్కు శరీరంతో మన మధ్య కృపా సత్యాల సంపూర్ణ స్వరూపంగా నివసించాడు. తండ్రి నుండి వచ్చిన ఏకైక కుమారునికి ఉండే మహిమలాగా ఉన్న ఆయన మహిమను మేము చూశాము.
15 John gave testimony concerning Him and cried aloud, saying, "This is He of whom I said, 'He who is coming after me has been put before me,' for He was before me."
౧౫యోహాను ఆయనను గురించి పెద్ద స్వరంతో ఇలా సాక్ష్యం చెప్పాడు, “నా వెనుక వచ్చేవాడు నాకు ముందే ఉన్నవాడు కాబట్టి ఆయన నాకంటే గొప్పవాడు, అంటూ నేను ఎవరిని గురించి చెప్పానో ఆయనే ఈయన.”
16 For He it is from whose fulness we have all received, and grace upon grace.
౧౬ఆయన సంపూర్ణతలో నుండి మనమందరం కృప తరువాత కృపను పొందాం.
17 For the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
౧౭మోషే ద్వారా దేవుడు ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని ఇచ్చాడు. కృప, సత్యం యేసు క్రీస్తు మూలంగా కలిగాయి.
18 No human eye has ever seen God: the only Son, who is in the Father's bosom--He has made Him known.
౧౮దేవుణ్ణి ఇంతవరకూ ఎవరూ చూడలేదు. తండ్రిని అనునిత్యం హత్తుకుని ఉండే దేవుడైన ఏకైక కుమారుడే ఆయనను వెల్లడి చేశాడు.
19 This also is John's testimony, when the Jews sent to him a deputation of Priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him who he was.
౧౯యెరూషలేము నుండి యూదులు, “నువ్వు ఎవరు?” అని యోహానును అడగడానికి యాజకుల నుండీ లేవీయుల నుండీ కొందరిని పంపించారు. అప్పుడు అతడు ఇదే సాక్ష్యం ఇచ్చాడు.
20 He avowed--he did not conceal the truth, but avowed, "I am not the Christ."
౨౦అతడు, “నాకు తెలియదు” అనకుండా, “నేను క్రీస్తును కాదు” అంటూ ఒప్పుకున్నాడు.
21 "What then?" they inquired; "are you Elijah?" "I am not," he said. "Are you the Prophet?" "No," he answered.
౨౧కాబట్టి వారు, “అయితే నువ్వు ఎవరివి? ఏలీయావా?” అంటే అతడు, “కాదు” అన్నాడు. “నువ్వు ప్రవక్తవా?” అని అడిగితే కాదని జవాబిచ్చాడు.
22 So they pressed the question. "Who are you?" they said--"that we may take an answer to those who sent us. What account do you give of yourself?"
౨౨దాంతో వారు, “అయితే అసలు నువ్వు ఎవరివి? మమ్మల్ని పంపిన వారికి మేమేం చెప్పాలి? అసలు నీ గురించి నువ్వేం చెప్పుకుంటున్నావ్?” అన్నారు.
23 "I am the voice," he replied, "of one crying aloud, 'Make straight the Lord's way in the Desert,' fulfilling the words of the Prophet Isaiah."
౨౩దానికి అతడు, “యెషయా ప్రవక్త పలికినట్టు నేను, ‘ప్రభువు కోసం దారి తిన్నగా చేయండి’ అని అరణ్యంలో బిగ్గరగా కేక పెట్టే ఒక వ్యక్తి స్వరాన్ని” అన్నాడు.
24 They were Pharisees who had been sent.
౨౪అలాగే అక్కడ పరిసయ్యులు పంపిన కొందరున్నారు.
25 Again they questioned him. "Why then do you baptize," they said, "if you are neither the Christ nor Elijah nor the Prophet?"
౨౫వారు, “నువ్వు క్రీస్తువు కావు, ఏలీయావు కావు, ప్రవక్తవూ కావు. అలాంటప్పుడు మరి బాప్తిసం ఎందుకు ఇస్తున్నావు?” అని అడిగారు.
26 "I baptize in water only," John answered, "but in your midst stands One whom you do not know--
౨౬దానికి యోహాను, “నేను నీళ్లలో బాప్తిసం ఇస్తున్నాను. కాని మీ మధ్య మీరు గుర్తించని వ్యక్తి నిలిచి ఉన్నాడు.
27 He who is to come after me, and whose sandal-strap I am not worthy to unfasten."
౨౭నా వెనుక వస్తున్నది ఆయనే. నేను ఆయన చెప్పుల పట్టీ విప్పడానికి కూడా యోగ్యుణ్ణి కాదు” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.
28 This conversation took place at Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
౨౮ఈ విషయాలన్నీ యొర్దాను నదికి అవతల వైపు ఉన్న బేతనీలో జరిగాయి. ఇక్కడే యోహాను బాప్తిసం ఇస్తూ ఉండేవాడు.
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming towards him and exclaimed, "Look, that is the Lamb of God who is to take away the sin of the world!
౨౯మరుసటిరోజు యేసు యోహాను దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. ఆయనను చూసి యోహాను ఇలా అన్నాడు, “చూడండి, లోకపాపాన్ని తీసివేసే దేవుని గొర్రెపిల్ల!
30 This is He about whom I said, 'After me is to come One who has been put before me, because He was before me.'
౩౦‘నా వెనక వచ్చేవాడు నాకు ముందే ఉన్నవాడు కాబట్టి ఆయన నాకంటే గొప్పవాడు’ అంటూ నేను ఎవరి గురించి చెప్పానో ఆయనే ఈయన.
31 I did not yet know Him; but that He may be openly shown to Israel is the reason why I have come baptizing in water."
౩౧నేను ఆయనను గుర్తించలేదు, కానీ ఆయన ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకు వెల్లడి కావాలని నేను నీళ్ళలో బాప్తిసం ఇస్తూ వచ్చాను.”
32 John also gave testimony by stating: "I have seen the Spirit coming down like a dove out of Heaven; and it remained upon Him.
౩౨యోహాను ఇంకా సాక్షమిస్తూ, “ఆత్మ ఒక పావురంలా ఆకాశం నుండి దిగి వచ్చి ఆయనపై నిలిచి పోవడం చూశాను.
33 I did not yet know Him, but He who sent me to baptize in water said to me, "'The One on whom you see the Spirit coming down, and remaining, He it is who baptizes in the Holy Spirit.'
౩౩నేను ఆయనను గుర్తు పట్టలేదు. కాని ‘ఎవరి మీద ఆత్మ దిగివచ్చి నిలిచిపోవడం చూస్తావో ఆయనే పరిశుద్ధాత్మలో బాప్తిసం ఇచ్చేవాడు’ అని నీళ్ళలో బాప్తిసం ఇవ్వడానికి నన్ను పంపినవాడు నాకు చెప్పాడు.
34 "This I have seen, and I have become a witness that He is the Son of God."
౩౪ఈయనే దేవుని కుమారుడని నేను తెలుసుకున్నాను, సాక్షం ఇచ్చాను.”
35 Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,
౩౫మరుసటి రోజు యోహాను తన శిష్యులు ఇద్దరితో నిలబడి ఉన్నాడు.
36 when he saw Jesus passing by, and said, "Look! that is the Lamb of God!"
౩౬అప్పుడు యేసు అక్కడ నడిచి వెళ్తుంటే యోహాను ఆయన వైపు చూసి, “ఇదిగో, చూడండి, దేవుని గొర్రెపిల్ల” అన్నాడు.
37 The two disciples heard his exclamation, and they followed Jesus.
౩౭అతడు చెప్పిన మాట విని ఆ యిద్దరు శిష్యులు యేసు వెనకే వెళ్ళారు.
38 Then Jesus turned round, and seeing them following He asked them, "What is your wish?" "Rabbi," they replied--'Rabbi' means 'Teacher' --"where are you staying?"
౩౮యేసు వెనక్కి తిరిగి, వారు తన వెనకాలే రావడం చూసి, “మీకేం కావాలి?” అని అడిగాడు. వారు, “రబ్బీ, (రబ్బీ అనే మాటకు బోధకుడు అని అర్థం) నువ్వు ఎక్కడ ఉంటున్నావ్?” అని అడిగారు.
39 "Come and you shall see," He said. So they went and saw where He was staying, and they remained and spent that day with Him. It was then about ten o'clock in the morning.
౩౯ఆయన, “వచ్చి చూడండి” అన్నాడు. వారు వచ్చి ఆయన ఉంటున్న స్థలం చూశారు. అప్పటికి సాయంత్రం నాలుగు గంటలైంది. దాంతో వారు ఆ రోజుకి ఆయనతో ఉండిపోయారు.
40 Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, was one of the two who heard John's exclamation and followed Jesus.
౪౦యోహాను మాట విని ఆయన వెనకాల వెళ్ళిన ఇద్దరిలో ఒకరు అంద్రెయ. ఇతడు సీమోను పేతురు సోదరుడు.
41 He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found the Messiah!" --that is to say, the Anointed One.
౪౧ఇతడు అన్నిటికంటే ముందు తన సోదరుడైన సీమోనును వెతికి పట్టుకుని, అతనితో, “మేము మెస్సీయను (మెస్సీయ అంటే క్రీస్తు అని అర్థం) కనుక్కున్నాం” అని చెప్పాడు.
42 He brought him to Jesus. Jesus looked at him and said, "You are Simon, son of John: you shall be called Cephas" --that is to say, Peter (or 'Rock').
౪౨యేసు దగ్గరికి అతణ్ణి తీసుకుని వచ్చాడు. యేసు అతణ్ణి చూసి, “నువ్వు యోహాను కొడుకువి, నీ పేరు సీమోను. నిన్ను ఇక కేఫా అని పిలుస్తారు” అన్నాడు (కేఫా అనే మాటకి పేతురు (రాయి) అని అర్థం).
43 The next day, having decided to leave Bethany and go into Galilee, Jesus found Philip, and invited him to follow Him.
౪౩మర్నాడు యేసు గలిలయకు వెళ్ళాలని బయలుదేరినప్పుడు ఫిలిప్పును చూశాడు. ఫిలిప్పుతో, “నా వెనకే రా” అన్నాడు.
44 (Now Philip came from Bethsaida, the same town as Andrew and Peter.)
౪౪ఫిలిప్పు సొంత ఊరు బేత్సయిదా. అంద్రెయ, పేతురుల సొంత ఊరు కూడా అదే.
45 Then Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, "We have found him about whom Moses in the Law wrote, as well as the Prophets--Jesus, the son of Joseph, a man of Nazareth."
౪౫ఫిలిప్పు నతనయేలును చూసి, “ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో మోషే, ప్రవక్తలూ ఎవరి గురించి రాశారో ఆ వ్యక్తిని మేము చూశాం. ఆయన నజరేతు వాడూ, యోసేపు కుమారుడూ అయిన యేసు” అని చెప్పాడు.
46 "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" replied Nathanael. "Come and see," said Philip.
౪౬దానికి నతనయేలు, “నజరేతులో నుండి మంచిదేమన్నా రాగలదా?” అన్నాడు. ఫిలిప్పు, “నువ్వే వచ్చి చూడు” అన్నాడు.
47 Jesus saw Nathanael approaching, and said of him, "Look! here is a true Israelite, in whom there is no deceitfulness!"
౪౭నతనయేలు తన దగ్గరికి రావడం యేసు చూసి, “చూడండి. ఇతడు నిజమైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుడు. ఇతనిలో ఎలాంటి కపటమూ లేదు” అన్నాడు.
48 "How do you know me?" Nathanael asked. "Before Philip called you," said Jesus, "when you were under the fig-tree I saw you."
౪౮అప్పుడు నతనయేలు, “నేను నీకెలా తెలుసు?” అన్నాడు. అందుకు యేసు, “ఫిలిప్పు నిన్ను పిలవక ముందు ఆ అంజూరపు చెట్టు కింద ఉన్నప్పుడే నేను నిన్ను చూశాను” అన్నాడు.
49 "Rabbi," cried Nathanael, "you are the Son of God, you are Israel's King!"
౪౯దానికి నతనయేలు, “బోధకా, నువ్వు దేవుని కుమారుడివి! ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజువి నువ్వే” అని ఆయనకు బదులిచ్చాడు.
50 "Because I said to you, 'I saw you under the fig-tree,'" replied Jesus, "do you believe? You shall see greater things than that."
౫౦అందుకు యేసు, “ఆ అంజూరు చెట్టు కింద నిన్ను చూశానని చెప్పినందుకే నువ్వు నమ్మేస్తున్నావా? దీని కంటే గొప్ప విషయాలు చూస్తావు” అన్నాడు.
51 "I tell you all in most solemn truth," He added, "that you shall see Heaven opened wide, and God's angels going up, and coming down to the Son of Man."
౫౧తరువాత యేసు ఇలా అన్నాడు, “నేను కచ్చితంగా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ఆకాశం తెరుచుకోవడం, దేవుని దూతలు మనుష్య కుమారుడి మీదుగా ఎక్కడం, దిగడం చేస్తూ ఉండడం మీరు చూస్తారు.”
