John 11
1 Now a certain man, named Lazarus, of Bethany, was lying ill-- Bethany being the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
১বৈথনিয়া গাৱঁৰ লাজাৰ নামৰ এজন ব্যক্তিৰ অসুখ হৈ আছিল। মৰিয়ম আৰু তাইৰ বায়েক মাৰ্থাও সেই গাৱঁতে থাকে।
2 (It was the Mary who poured the perfume over the Lord and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was ill.)
২এওঁ সেই জনী মৰিয়ম, যি গৰাকীয়ে পাছত প্রভুৰ ওপৰত বহুমূল্য সুগন্ধি তেল ঢালি নিজৰ চুলিৰে প্রভুৰ চৰণ মচি মচি সানি দিছিল। তেওঁৰে ভায়েক এই লাজাৰ অসুস্থ আছিল।
3 So the sisters sent to Him to say, "Master, he whom you hold dear is ill."
৩সেয়ে লাজাৰৰ বায়েক ভনীয়েক দুজনীয়ে যীচুলৈ এই কথা কৈ পঠিয়ালে, “প্ৰভু, চাওকহি, আপুনি যাক প্ৰেম কৰে, তেওঁ নৰিয়াত পৰি আছে।”
4 Jesus received the message and said, "This illness is not to end in death, but is to promote the glory of God, in order that the Son of God may be glorified by it."
৪যীচুৱে এই কথা শুনি ক’লে, “এই অসুখ তেওঁৰ মৃত্যুৰ কাৰণে হোৱা নাই, কিন্তু ঈশ্বৰৰ গৌৰৱৰ কাৰণেই হৈছে, যেন তাৰ দ্বাৰাই ঈশ্বৰৰ পুত্র মহিমান্বিত হয়।”
5 Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.
৫মাৰ্থা, তেওঁৰ ভনীয়েক আৰু লাজাৰক যীচুৱে প্ৰেম কৰিছিল।
6 When, however, He heard that Lazarus was ill, He still remained two days in that same place.
৬তেওঁ যেতিয়া শুনিলে যে লাজাৰ অসুস্থ, তেতিয়া তেওঁ যি ঠাইত আছিল তাতে পুনৰ দুদিন থাকিল।
7 Then, after that, He said to the disciples, "Let us return to Judaea."
৭তাৰ পাছতহে তেওঁ শিষ্য সকলক ক’লে, “ব’লা, আমি পুণৰ যিহুদীয়ালৈ যাওঁ।”
8 "Rabbi," exclaimed the disciples, "the Jews have just been trying to stone you, and do you think of going back there again?"
৮শিষ্য সকলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “ৰব্বি, এই কিছুদিনৰ আগেয়ে ইহুদী সকলে আপোনাক শিল দলিয়াই মাৰিবলৈ বিচাৰিছিল; আকৌ তালৈকে যায় নে?”
9 "Are there not twelve hours in the day?" replied Jesus. "If any one walks in the daytime, he does not stumble--because he sees the light of this world.
৯যীচুৱে উত্তৰ দিলে, “দিনটোত বাৰ ঘণ্টা পোহৰ হৈ নাথাকে জানো? কোনোৱে যদি দিনত ফুৰে, তেনেহলে তেওঁ উজুটি নাখায়; কিয়নো তেওঁ এই জগতৰ পোহৰ দেখে।
10 But if a man walks by night, he does stumble, because the light is not in him."
১০কিন্তু কোনোৱে যদি ৰাতি ফুৰে, তেনেহলে তেওঁ উজুটি খায়; কিয়নো পোহৰ তেওঁৰ মাজত নাই।”
11 He said this, and afterwards He added, "Our friend Lazarus is sleeping, but I will go and wake him."
১১এই কথা কোৱাৰ পাছত তেওঁ শিষ্য সকলক ক’লে, “আমাৰ বন্ধু লাজাৰ টোপনি গৈছে; তেওঁক টোপনিৰ পৰা জগাবলৈ মই যাওঁ।”
12 "Master," said the disciples, "if he is asleep he will recover."
১২তাতে শিষ্য সকলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “প্ৰভু, তেওঁ যদি টোপনি গৈছে, তেনেহলে ভাল হৈ যাব।”
13 Now Jesus had spoken of his death, but they thought He referred to the rest taken in ordinary sleep.
১৩যীচুৱে লাজাৰৰ মৃত্যুৰ বিষয়ে কৈছিল, কিন্তু শিষ্য সকলে ভাৱিলে যে যীচুৱে স্বাভাৱিক টোপনিত জিৰণি লোৱাৰ কথা কৈছে।
14 So then He told them plainly,
১৪যীচুৱে তেতিয়া স্পষ্টকৈ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “লাজাৰ মৰিল।
15 "Lazarus is dead; and for your sakes I am glad I was not there, in order that you may believe. But let us go to him."
১৫তোমালোকৰ বাবে মই আনন্দিত হৈছোঁ যে মই তাত নাছিলো; কাৰণ তোমালোকে যেন বিশ্বাস কৰিব পাৰা। আহা, আমি তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ যাওঁ।”
16 "Let us go also," Thomas, the Twin, said to his fellow disciples, "that we may die with him."
১৬তেতিয়া থোমা, যি জনক দিদুমো বোলা হয়, তেওঁ লগৰ শিষ্য সকলক ক’লে, “ব’লা, আমিও যাওঁ, আমিও যীচুৰ লগতে মৰিব পাৰিম।”
17 On His arrival Jesus found that Lazarus had already been three days in the tomb.
১৭যীচুৱে আহি শুনিব পাৰিলে যে লাজাৰক মৈদাম দিয়া চাৰি দিন হ’ল।
18 Bethany was near Jerusalem, the distance being a little less than two miles;
১৮বৈথনিয়া যিৰূচালেমৰ ওচৰতে, প্রায় দুই মাইলমানৰ দূৰত্ব;
19 and a considerable number of the Jews were with Martha and Mary, having come to express sympathy with them on the death of their brother.
১৯ইহুদী সকলৰ অনেকেই মাৰ্থা আৰু মৰিয়মক ভায়েকৰ কাৰণে সান্ত্বনা দিবলৈ আহি আছিল।
20 Martha, however, as soon as she heard the tidings, "Jesus is coming," went to meet Him; but Mary remained sitting in the house.
২০এনেতে মাৰ্থাই যেতিয়া যীচু অাহিছে বুলি শুনিলে, তেতিয়া তেওঁৰ লগত দেখা কৰিবলৈ গ’ল; কিন্তু মৰিয়ম তেতিয়াও ঘৰতে বহি আছিল।
21 So Martha came and spoke to Jesus. "Master, if you had been here," she said, "my brother would not have died.
২১মাৰ্থাই যীচুক ক’লে, “হে প্ৰভু, আপুনি ইয়াত থকা হ’লে, মোৰ ভাই নমৰিলহেঁতেন;
22 And even now I know that whatever you ask God for, God will give you."
২২কিন্তু এতিয়াও মই জানো যে, ঈশ্বৰৰ আগত আপুনি যিহকে যাচনা কৰিব, ঈশ্বৰে আপোনাক তাকে দিব।”
23 "Your brother shall rise again," replied Jesus.
২৩যীচুৱে তেওঁক ক’লে, “তোমাৰ ভায়েৰা পুনৰায় উঠিব।”
24 "I know," said Martha, "that he will rise again at the resurrection, on the last day."
২৪মাৰ্থাই তেওঁক ক’লে, “মই জানো, শেষৰ দিনা পুনৰুত্থানৰ কালত সি পুণৰায় উঠিব।”
25 "I am the Resurrection and the Life," said Jesus; "he who believes in me, even if he has died, he shall live;
২৫যীচুৱে মার্থাক ক’লে, “ময়েই পুনৰুত্থান আৰু জীৱনো; যি কোনোৱে মোক বিশ্বাস কৰে, তেওঁ মৰিলেও জীয়াই থাকিব;
26 and every one who is living and is a believer in me shall never, never die. Do you believe this?" (aiōn g165)
২৬আৰু যি কোনোৱে জীয়াই থাকি মোত বিশ্বাস কৰে, তেওঁ কোনো কালে নমৰিব। তুমি কি এই কথা বিশ্বাস কৰা নে?” (aiōn g165)
27 "Yes, Master," she replied; "I thoroughly believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."
২৭তেওঁ ক’লে, “হয় প্ৰভু; মই বিশ্বাস কৰিছোঁ যে জগতলৈ যি জন আহিব লগা আছে, আপুনিয়েই সেই অভিষিক্ত জন, ঈশ্বৰৰ পুত্ৰ; খ্ৰীষ্ট।”
28 After saying this, she went and called her sister Mary privately, telling her, "The Rabbi is here and is asking for you."
২৮এই কথা কৈ, মার্থা তাৰ পৰা আতৰি গ’ল আৰু ভনীয়েক মৰিয়মক গুপুতে মাতি ক’লে, “গুৰু আহিল, আৰু তোমাক মাতিছে।”
29 So she, on hearing that, rose up quickly to go to Him.
২৯মৰিয়মে তাকে শুনি ততাতৈয়াকৈ উঠি তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ গ’ল।
30 Now Jesus was not yet come into the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met Him.
৩০যীচুৱে তেতিয়াও গাঁৱৰ মাজত প্রৱেশ কৰা নাছিল। মাৰ্থাই যি ঠাইত তেওঁৰ লগত দেখা কৰিবলৈ আহিছিল, তেওঁ সেই ঠাইতে আছিল।
31 So the Jews who were with Mary in the house sympathizing with her, when they saw that she had risen hastily and had gone out, followed her, supposing that she was going to the tomb to weep aloud there.
৩১যি ইহুদী সকল মৰিয়মৰ সৈতে ঘৰত আছিল আৰু তেওঁক সান্ত্বনা দি আছিল, তেওঁলোকে মৰিয়মক বেগাই উঠি বাহিৰলৈ যোৱা দেখি, তেওঁৰ পাছে পাছে আহিল। তেওঁলোকে ভাৱিলে যে মৰিয়মে মৈদামৰ ওচৰত কান্দিবলৈ গৈছে।
32 Mary then, when she came to Jesus and saw Him, fell at His feet and exclaimed, "Master, if you had been here, my brother would not have died."
৩২যি ঠাইত যীচু আছিল, মৰিয়মে সেই ঠাই পাই, তেওঁৰ চৰণত পৰি ক’লে, “হে প্ৰভু, আপুনি ইয়াত থকা হ’লে, মোৰ ভাই নমৰিলেহেঁতেন।”
33 Seeing her weeping aloud, and the Jews in like manner weeping who had come with her, Jesus, curbing the strong emotion of His spirit,
৩৩যীচুৱে যেতিয়া দেখিলে যে মৰিয়মে কান্দিছে আৰু তেওঁৰ লগত অহা ইহুদী সকলেও কান্দিছে, তেতিয়া তেওঁ আত্মাত যন্ত্ৰণা পালে আৰু গভীৰ ভাবে উদ্বিগ্ন হৈ পৰিল।
34 though deeply troubled, asked them, "Where have you laid him?" "Master, come and see," was their reply.
৩৪তেওঁ ক’লে, “তোমালোকে তেওঁক ক’ত ৰাখিছা?” তেওঁলোকে ক’লে, “প্ৰভু, আহি চাওকহি।”
35 Jesus wept.
৩৫যীচুৱে ক্ৰন্দন কৰিলে।
36 "See how dear he held him," said the Jews.
৩৬ইহুদী সকলে ক’লে, “চোৱা, তেওঁ লাজাৰক কিমান যে প্ৰেম কৰিছিল!”
37 But others of them asked, "Was this man who opened the blind man's eyes unable to prevent this man from dying?"
৩৭কিন্তু তেওঁলোকৰ কোনো কোনোৱে ক’লে, “যি জনে এজন অন্ধৰ চকু মুকলি কৰিলে, তেওঁ এই মানুহ জনৰো মৃত্যু নহবলৈ এনে একো কৰিব নোৱাৰিলেহেঁতেন নে?”
38 Jesus, however, again restraining His strong feeling, came to the tomb. It was a cave, and a stone had been laid against the mouth of it.
৩৮তেতিয়া যীচুৱে পুনৰ নিজে অন্তৰত যন্ত্ৰণা পালে, আৰু মৈদামৰ ওচৰলৈ গ’ল। সেই মৈদাম এটা গুহা আছিল। গুহাৰ মুখত এচটা শিল পাতি থোৱা আছিল।
39 "Take away the stone," said Jesus. Martha, the sister of the dead man, exclaimed, "Master, by this time there is a foul smell; for it is three days since he died."
৩৯যীচুৱে ক’লে, “শিলচটা গুচাই দিয়া।” মৃত লাজাৰৰ বায়েক মাৰ্থাই যীচুক ক’লে, “প্ৰভু, এতিয়া শৰীৰ পচি দুৰ্গন্ধ হৈছে; কিয়নো সি মৰাৰ আজি চাৰি দিন হ’ল।”
40 "Did I not promise you," replied Jesus, "that if you believe, you shall see the glory of God?"
৪০যীচুৱে তেওঁক ক’লে, “মই জানো তোমাক কোৱা নাছিলো, যদি বিশ্বাস কৰা, তেনেহলে ঈশ্বৰৰ মহিমা দেখিবলৈ পাবা?”
41 So they removed the stone. Then Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, "Father, I thank Thee that Thou hast heard me.
৪১তেতিয়া লোক সকলে শিলচটা আতৰাই দিলে। যীচুৱে ওপৰলৈ চকু তুলি ক’লে, “হে পিতৃ, তুমি মোৰ কথা শুনাৰ কাৰণে মই তোমাক ধন্যবাদ দিওঁ।
42 I know that Thou always hearest me; but for the sake of the crowd standing round I have said this--that they may believe that Thou didst send me."
৪২মই জানো, তুমি সকলো সময়তে মোৰ কথা শুনি থাকা। কিন্তু মোৰ চাৰিওফালে থিয় হৈ থকা লোক সকলৰ কাৰণে মই এই কথা কৈছোঁ, তেওঁলোকে যেন বিশ্বাস কৰে যে তুমি মোক পঠাইছা।”
43 After speaking thus, He called out in a loud voice, "Lazarus, come out."
৪৩ইয়াকে কৈ, তেওঁ ডাঙৰ মাতেৰে ক’লে, “লাজাৰ বাহিৰলৈ ওলাই আহা!”
44 The dead man came out, his hands and feet wrapped in cloths, and his face wrapped round with a towel. "Untie him," said Jesus, "and let him go free."
৪৪তেতিয়াই মৃত লাজাৰ সেই মৈদামৰ পৰা বাহিৰ ওলাই আহিল। তেওঁৰ হাত-ভৰি মৈদামৰ কাপোৰেৰে মেৰিয়াই বন্ধা আছিল আৰু তেওঁৰ মুখ এখন গামোচাৰে বন্ধা আছিল। যীচুৱে তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “বান্ধ খুলি দিয়া আৰু তেওঁক যাবলৈ দিয়া।”
45 Thereupon a considerable number of the Jews--namely those who had come to Mary and had witnessed His deeds--became believers in Him;
৪৫মৰিয়মৰ ওচৰলৈ যি সকল ইহুদী লোক আহিছিল, সেই লোক সকলৰ মাজৰ অনেকে যীচুৱে যি কৰিলে তাকে দেখি তেওঁক বিশ্বাস কৰিলে।
46 though some of them went off to the Pharisees and told them what He had done.
৪৬কিন্তু তেওঁলোকৰ কিছুমানে ফৰীচী সকলৰ ওচৰলৈ গৈ, যীচুৱে যি কৰিলে, সেই সকলোকে তেওঁলোকক জনালে।।
47 Therefore the High Priests and the Pharisees held a meeting of the Sanhedrin. "What steps are we taking?" they asked one another; "for this man is performing a great number of miracles.
৪৭তেতিয়া প্ৰধান পুৰোহিত আৰু ফৰীচী সকলে একেলগে পৰিষদক লগত লৈ মহাসভা পাতি ক’লে, “আমি এতিয়া কি কৰিম? এই মানুহে দেখোন অনেক আচৰিত চিনৰ কার্য কৰিছে;
48 If we leave him alone in this way, everybody will believe in him, and the Romans will come and blot out both our city and our nation."
৪৮তাক যদি আমি এইভাৱে এনেয়ে এৰি দিওঁ, তেনেহলে সকলো মানুহে তাক বিশ্বাস কৰিব। তেতিয়া ৰোম দেশীয় লোক সকলে আহি আমাৰ জাতি আৰু ঠাই উভয়কে অধিকাৰ কৰি ল’ব।”
49 But one of them, named Caiaphas, being High Priest that year, said, "You know nothing about it.
৪৯কিন্তু তেওঁলোকৰ মাজত কায়াফা নামৰ এজন, যি জন সেই বছৰত মহা-পুৰোহিত হৈছিল, তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক ক’লে, “তোমালোকে একোকে নাজানা।
50 You do not reflect that it is to your interest that one man should die for the people rather than the whole nation perish."
৫০তোমালোকে ভাৱিও নোচোঁৱা যে, সকলোৰে লগত আমাৰ জাতিৰ বিনাশ হোৱাতকৈ, বৰং তোমালোকৰ পক্ষে সকলো লোকৰ কাৰণে এজন মানুহৰ মৃত্যু হোৱাই ভাল।”
51 It was not as a mere man that he thus spoke. But being High Priest that year he was inspired to declare that Jesus was to die for the nation,
৫১এই কথা কায়াফাই যে নিজৰ পৰা ক’লে এনে নহয়; কিন্তু সেই বছৰত মহা-পুৰোহিত হোৱা বাবে ভাববাণী স্বৰূপে ক’লে যে, সকলো জাতিৰ কাৰণে যীচুৱে মৃত্যুবৰণ কৰিব লাগিব।
52 and not for the nation only, but in order to unite into one body all the far-scattered children of God.
৫২কিন্তু যীচুৱে যে কেৱল ইহুদী জাতিৰ কাৰণে মৃত্যুবৰণ কৰিব, তেনে নহয়; কিন্তু ঈশ্বৰৰ যি সকলো সন্তান চাৰিওফালে সিচঁৰতি হৈ আছে, সেই সকলোকে যেন একত্রিত কৰিব পাৰে, এই কাৰণে যীচুৱে মৃত্যুবৰণ কৰিব।
53 So from that day forward they planned and schemed in order to put Him to death.
৫৩সেইদিনা খনৰ পৰা তেওঁলোকে যীচুক বধ কৰিবলৈ ষড়যন্ত্র কৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে।
54 Therefore Jesus no longer went about openly among the Jews, but He left that neighbourhood and went into the district near the Desert, to a town called Ephraim, and remained there with the disciples.
৫৪সেয়ে, যীচুৱে তেতিয়া প্রকাশ্যে ইহুদী সকলৰ মাজত চলা-ফুৰা বন্ধ কৰি দিলে। তেওঁ সেই ঠাইৰ পৰা মৰুপ্রান্তৰৰ ওচৰৰ দেশত থকা ইফ্ৰয়িম নামেৰে এখন নগৰলৈ গ’ল আৰু তাত তেওঁ শিষ্য সকলৰ সৈতে থাকিল।
55 The Jewish Passover was coming near, and many from that district went up to Jerusalem before the Passover, to purify themselves.
৫৫ইহুদী সকলৰ নিস্তাৰ-পৰ্বৰ দিন ওচৰ চাপি আহিছিল আৰু দেশৰ বহুলোকে পর্বৰ আগেয়ে নিজকে শুচি কৰিবৰ কাৰণে যিৰূচালেমলৈ গ’ল।
56 They therefore looked out for Jesus, and asked one another as they stood in the Temple, "What do you think? --will he come to the Festival at all?"
৫৬তাত তেওঁলোকে যীচুক বিচাৰিবলৈ ধৰিলে। তেওঁলোকে মন্দিৰত থিয় হৈ পৰস্পৰে কোৱা-কুই কৰিলে, “তেওঁ কি এই পৰ্বলৈ নাহিব নেকি? আপোনালোকে কি ভাৱে?”
57 Now the High Priests and the Pharisees had issued orders that if any one knew where He was, he should give information, so that they might arrest Him.
৫৭প্ৰধান পুৰোহিত আৰু ফৰীচী সকলে এই আজ্ঞা দিছিল যে, যীচু ক’ত আছে সেই বিষয়ে যদি কোনোবাই জানে, তেনেহলে খবৰটো তেওঁলোকক জনাওঁক যাতে তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক ধৰিব পাৰে।
