Colossians 3
1 If however you have risen with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, enthroned at God's right hand.
Protož povstali-li jste s Kristem, vrchních věcí hledejte, kdež Kristus na pravici Boží sedí.
2 Give your minds to the things that are above, not to the things that are on the earth.
O svrchní věci pečujte, ne o zemské.
3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Nebo zemřeli jste, a život váš skryt jest s Kristem v Bohu.
4 When Christ appears--He is our true Life--then you also will appear with Him in glory.
Když se pak ukáže Kristus, život náš, tehdy i vy ukážete se s ním v slávě.
5 Therefore put to death your earthward inclinations--fornication, impurity, sensual passion, unholy desire, and all greed, for that is a form of idolatry.
Protož mrtvěte údy své zemské, smilstvo, nečistotu, chlípnost, žádost zlou, i lakomství, jenž jest modlám sloužení.
6 It is on account of these very sins that God's anger is coming,
Pro kteréžto věci přichází hněv Boží na syny zpurné.
7 and you also were once addicted to them, while you were living under their power.
V kterýchžto hříších i vy někdy chodili jste, když jste živi byli v nich.
8 But now you must rid yourselves of every kind of sin--angry and passionate outbreaks, ill-will, evil speaking, foul-mouthed abuse--so that these may never soil your lips.
Ale již nyní složtež i vy všecko to, hněv, prchlivost, zlobivost, zlořečení i mrzkomluvnost zapuďte od úst vašich.
9 Do not speak falsehoods to one another, for you have stripped off the old self with its doings,
Nelžete jedni na druhé, když jste svlékli s sebe starého člověka s skutky jeho,
10 and have clothed yourselves with the new self which is being remoulded into full knowledge so as to become like Him who created it.
A oblékli toho nového, obnovujícího se k známosti jasné, podle obrazu toho, jenž jej stvořil,
11 In that new creation there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor free man, but Christ is everything and is in all of us.
Kdežto není Řek a Žid, obřízka a neobřízka, cizozemec a Scýta, služebník a svobodný ale všecko a ve všech Kristus.
12 Clothe yourselves therefore, as God's own people holy and dearly loved, with tender-heartedness, kindness, lowliness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;
Protož oblectež se jako vyvolení Boží, svatí, a milí, v srdce lítostivé, v dobrotivost, nízké o sobě smýšlení, krotkost, trpělivost,
13 bearing with one another and readily forgiving each other, if any one has a grievance against another. Just as the Lord has forgiven you, you also must forgive.
Snášejíce jeden druhého a odpouštějíce sobě vespolek, měl-li by kdo proti komu jakou žalobu; jako i Kristus odpustil vám, tak i vy.
14 And over all these put on love, which is the perfect bond of union;
Nadto pak nade všecko oblečeni buďte v lásku, kteráž jest svazek dokonalosti.
15 and let the peace which Christ gives settle all questionings in your hearts, to which peace indeed you were called as belonging to His one Body; and be thankful.
A pokoj Boží vítěziž v srdcích vašich, k němuž i povoláni jste v jedno tělo; a buďtež vděčni.
16 Let the teaching concerning Christ remain as a rich treasure in your hearts. In all wisdom teach and admonish one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, and sing with grace in your hearts to God.
Slovo Kristovo přebývejž v vás bohatě se vší moudrostí; učíce a napomínajíce sebe vespolek Žalmy, a zpěvy, a písničkami duchovními, s milostí zpívajíce v srdci vašem Pánu.
17 And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, and let it be through Him that you give thanks to God the Father.
A všecko, cožkoli činíte v slovu nebo v skutku, všecko čiňte ve jménu Pána Ježíše, díky činíce Bohu a Otci skrze něho.
18 Married women, be submissive to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.
Ženy poddány buďte mužům svým tak, jakž sluší, v Pánu.
19 Married men, be affectionate to your wives, and do not treat them harshly.
Muži milujte ženy své, a nemějtež se přísně k nim.
20 Children be obedient to your parents in everything; for that is right for Christians.
Dítky poslouchejte rodičů ve všem; nebo to jest dobře libé Pánu.
21 Fathers, do not fret and harass your children, or you may make them sullen and morose.
Otcové nepopouzejte k hněvivosti dítek svých, aby sobě nezoufaly.
22 Slaves, be obedient in everything to your earthly masters; not in acts of eye service, as aiming only to please men, but with simplicity of purpose, because you fear the Lord.
Služebníci poslušni buďte ve všem pánů svých tělesných, ne na oko toliko sloužíce, jako ti, jenž se usilují lidem líbiti, ale v sprostnosti srdce, bojíce se Boha.
23 Whatever you are doing, let your hearts be in your work, as a thing done for the Lord and not for men.
A všecko, což byste koli činili, z té duše čiňte, jakožto Pánu, a ne lidem,
24 For you know that it is from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. Christ is the Master whose bondservants you are.
Vědouce, že ode Pána vzíti máte odplatu věčného dědictví; nebo Pánu Kristu sloužíte.
25 The man who perpetrates a wrong will find the wrong repaid to him; and with God there are no merely earthly distinctions.
Kdož by pak nepravost páchal, odměnu své nepravosti vezme. A neníť přijímání osob u Boha.
