Acts 7
1 Then the High Priest asked him, "Are these statements true?"
| آنگاه رئیس کهنه گفت: «آیا این امور چنین است؟» | ۱ |
2 The reply of Stephen was, "Sirs--brethren and fathers--listen to me. God Most Glorious appeared to our forefather Abraham when he was living in Mesopotamia, before he settled in Haran,
| او گفت: «ای برادران و پدران، گوش دهید. خدای ذوالجلال بر پدر ما ابراهیم ظاهر شد وقتی که در جزیره بود قبل از توقفش در حران. | ۲ |
3 and said to him, "'Leave your country and your relatives, and go into whatever land I point out to you.'
| و بدوگفت: “از وطن خود و خویشانت بیرون شده، به زمینی که تو را نشان دهم برو.” | ۳ |
4 "Thereupon he left Chaldaea and settled in Haran till after the death of his father, when God caused him to remove into this country where you now live.
| پس از دیارکلدانیان روانه شده، در حران درنگ نمود؛ و بعداز وفات پدرش، او را کوچ داد به سوی این زمین که شما الان در آن ساکن می‌باشید. | ۴ |
5 But he gave him no inheritance in it, no, not a single square yard of ground. And yet He promised to bestow the land as a permanent possession on him and his posterity after him--and promised this at a time when Abraham was childless.
| و او را در این زمین میراثی، حتی بقدر جای پای خود نداد، لیکن وعده داد که آن را به وی و بعد از او به ذریتش به ملکیت دهد، هنگامی که هنوز اولادی نداشت. | ۵ |
6 And God declared that Abraham's posterity should for four hundred years make their home in a country not their own, and be reduced to slavery and be oppressed.
| و خدا گفت که “ذریت تو در ملک بیگانه، غریب خواهند بود و مدت چهار صد سال ایشان را به بندگی کشیده، معذب خواهندداشت.” | ۶ |
7 "'And the nation, whichever it is, that enslaves them, I will judge,' said God; 'and afterwards they shall come out, and they shall worship Me in this place.'
| و خدا گفت: “من بر آن طایفه‌ای که ایشان را مملوک سازند داوری خواهم نمود و بعداز آن بیرون آمده، در این مکان مرا عبادت خواهند نمود.” | ۷ |
8 "Then He gave him the Covenant of circumcision, and under this Covenant he became the father of Isaac--whom he circumcised on the eighth day. Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve Patriarchs.
| و عهد ختنه را به وی داد که بنابراین چون اسحاق را آورد، در روز هشتم او رامختون ساخت و اسحاق یعقوب را و یعقوب دوازده پطریارخ را. | ۸ |
9 "The Patriarchs were jealous of Joseph and sold him into slavery in Egypt. But God was with him
| «و پطریارخان به یوسف حسد برده، او را به مصر فروختند. اما خدا با وی می‌بود | ۹ |
10 and delivered him from all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who appointed him governor over Egypt and all the royal household.
| و او را ازتمامی زحمت او رستگار نموده، در حضورفرعون، پادشاه مصر توفیق و حکمت عطا فرمودتا او را بر مصر و تمام خاندان خود فرمان فرما قرارداد. | ۱۰ |
11 But there came a famine throughout the whole of Egypt and Canaan--and great distress--so that our forefathers could find no food.
| پس قحطی و ضیقی شدید بر همه ولایت مصر و کنعان رخ نمود، بحدی که اجداد ما قوتی نیافتند. | ۱۱ |
12 When, however, Jacob heard that there was wheat to be had, he sent our forefathers into Egypt; that was the first time.
| اما چون یعقوب شنید که در مصر غله یافت می‌شود، بار اول اجداد ما را فرستاد. | ۱۲ |
13 On their second visit Joseph made himself known to his brothers, and Pharaoh was informed of Joseph's parentage.
| ودر کرت دوم یوسف خود را به برادران خودشناسانید و قبیله یوسف به نظر فرعون رسیدند. | ۱۳ |
14 Then Joseph sent and invited his father Jacob and all his family, numbering seventy-five persons, to come to him,
| پس یوسف فرستاده، پدر خود یعقوب و سایرعیالش را که هفتاد و پنج نفر بودند، طلبید. | ۱۴ |
15 and Jacob went down into Egypt. There he died, and so did our forefathers,
| پس یعقوب به مصر فرود آمده، او و اجداد ما وفات یافتند. | ۱۵ |
16 and they were taken to Shechem and were laid in the tomb which Abraham had bought from the sons of Hamor at Shechem for a sum of money paid in silver.
| و ایشان را به شکیم برده، در مقبره‌ای که ابراهیم از بنی حمور، پدر شکیم به مبلغی خریده بود، دفن کردند. | ۱۶ |
17 "But as the time drew near for the fulfilment of the promise which God had made to Abraham, the people became many times more numerous in Egypt,
| «و چون هنگام وعده‌ای که خدا با ابراهیم قسم خورده بود نزدیک شد، قوم در مصر نموکرده، کثیر می‌گشتند. | ۱۷ |
18 until there arose a foreign king over Egypt who knew nothing of Joseph.
| تا وقتی که پادشاه دیگرکه یوسف را نمی شناخت برخاست. | ۱۸ |
19 He adopted a crafty policy towards our race, and oppressed our forefathers, making them cast out their infants so that they might not be permitted to live.
| او با قوم ما حیله نموده، اجداد ما را ذلیل ساخت تا اولادخود را بیرون انداختند تا زیست نکنند. | ۱۹ |
20 At this time Moses was born--a wonderfully beautiful child; and for three months he was cared for in his father's house.
| در آن وقت موسی تولد یافت وبغایت جمیل بوده، مدت سه ماه در خانه پدر خود پرورش یافت. | ۲۰ |
21 At length he was cast out, but Pharaoh's daughter adopted him, and brought him up as her own son.
| و چون او را بیرون افکندند، دختر فرعون او رابرداشته، برای خود به فرزندی تربیت نمود. | ۲۱ |
22 So Moses was educated in all the learning of the Egyptians, and possessed great influence through his eloquence and his achievements.
| وموسی در تمامی حکمت اهل مصر تربیت یافته، در قول و فعل قوی گشت. | ۲۲ |
23 "And when he was just forty years old, it occurred to him to visit his brethren the descendants of Israel.
| چون چهل سال ازعمر وی سپری گشت، به‌خاطرش رسید که ازبرادران خود، خاندان اسرائیل تفقد نماید. | ۲۳ |
24 Seeing one of them wrongfully treated he took his part, and secured justice for the ill-treated man by striking down the Egyptian.
| وچون یکی را مظلوم دید او را حمایت نمود وانتقام آن عاجز را کشیده، آن مصری را بکشت. | ۲۴ |
25 He supposed his brethren to be aware that by him God was sending them deliverance; this, however, they did not understand.
| پس گمان برد که بردرانش خواهند فهمید که خدا به‌دست او ایشان را نجات خواهد داد. امانفهمیدند. | ۲۵ |
26 The next day, also, he came and found two of them fighting, and he endeavoured to make peace between them. "'Sirs,' he said, 'you are brothers. Why are you wronging one another?'
| و در فردای آن روز خود را به دو نفراز ایشان که منازعه می‌نمودند، ظاهر کرد وخواست مابین ایشان مصالحه دهد. پس گفت: “ای مردان، شما برادر می‌باشید. به یکدیگر چرا ظلم می‌کنید؟” | ۲۶ |
27 "But the man who was doing the wrong resented his interference, and asked, "'Who appointed you magistrate and judge over us?
| آنگاه آنکه بر همسایه خودتعدی می‌نمود، او را رد کرده، گفت: “که تو را بر ماحاکم و داور ساخت؟ | ۲۷ |
28 Do you mean to kill me as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?'
| آیا می‌خواهی مرابکشی چنانکه آن مصری را دیروز کشتی؟” | ۲۸ |
29 "Alarmed at this question, Moses fled from the country and went to live in the land of Midian. There he became the father of two sons.
| پس موسی از این سخن فرار کرده، در زمین مدیان غربت اختیار کرد و در آنجا دو پسر آورد. | ۲۹ |
30 "But at the end of forty years there appeared to him in the Desert of Mount Sinai an angel in the middle of a flame of fire in a bush.
| و چون چهل سال گذشت، در بیابان کوه سینا، فرشته خداوند در شعله آتش از بوته به وی ظاهر شد. | ۳۰ |
31 When Moses saw this he wondered at the sight; but on his going up to look further, the voice of the Lord was heard, saying,
| موسی چون این را دید از آن رویا درعجب شد و چون نزدیک می‌آمد تا نظر کند، خطاب از خداوند به وی رسید | ۳۱ |
32 "'I am the God of your forefathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob.' "Quaking with fear Moses did not dare gaze.
| که “منم خدای پدرانت، خدای ابراهیم و خدای اسحاق و خدای یعقوب.” آنگاه موسی به لرزه درآمده، جسارت نکرد که نظر کند. | ۳۲ |
33 "'Take off your shoes,' said the Lord, 'for the spot on which you are standing is holy ground.
| خداوند به وی گفت: “نعلین از پایهایت بیرون کن زیرا جایی که در آن ایستاده‌ای، زمین مقدس است. | ۳۳ |
34 I have seen, yes, I have seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt and have heard their groans, and I have come down to deliver them. And now I will send you to Egypt.'
| همانا مشقت قوم خود را که در مصرند دیدم و ناله ایشان راشنیدم و برای رهانیدن ایشان نزول فرمودم. الحال بیا تا تو را به مصر فرستم.” | ۳۴ |
35 "The Moses whom they rejected, asking him, 'Who appointed you magistrate and judge?' --that same Moses we find God sending as a magistrate and a deliverer by the help of the angel who appeared to him in the bush.
| همان موسی را که رد کرده، گفتند: “که تو را حاکم و داورساخت؟” خدا حاکم و نجات‌دهنده مقرر فرموده، به‌دست فرشته‌ای که در بوته بر وی ظاهر شد، فرستاد. | ۳۵ |
36 This was he who brought them out, after performing marvels and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea, and in the Desert for forty years.
| او با معجزات و آیاتی که مدت چهل سال در زمین مصر و بحر قلزم و صحرا به ظهورمی آورد، ایشان را بیرون آورد. | ۳۶ |
37 This is the Moses who said to the descendants of Israel, "'God will raise up a Prophet for you, from among your brethren, just as He raised me up.'
| این همان موسی است که به بنی‌اسرائیل گفت: “خدا نبی‌ای را مثل من از میان برادران شما برای شما مبعوث خواهد کرد. سخن او را بشنوید.” | ۳۷ |
38 'This is he who was among the Congregation in the Desert, together with the angel who spoke to him on Mount Sinai and with our forefathers, who received ever-living utterances to hand on to us.
| همین است آنکه در جماعت در صحرا باآن فرشته‌ای که در کوه سینا بدو سخن می‌گفت وبا پدران ما بود و کلمات زنده را یافت تا به مارساند، | ۳۸ |
39 "Our forefathers, however, would not submit to him, but spurned his authority and in their hearts turned back to Egypt.
| که پدران ما نخواستند او را مطیع شوندبلکه او را رد کرده، دلهای خود را به سوی مصرگردانیدند، | ۳۹ |
40 They said to Aaron, "'Make gods for us, to march in front of us; for as for this Moses who brought us out of the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.'
| و به هارون گفتند: “برای ما خدایان ساز که در‌پیش ما بخرامند زیرا این موسی که ما رااز زمین مصر برآورد، نمی دانیم او را چه شده است.” | ۴۰ |
41 "Moreover they made a calf at that time, and offered a sacrifice to the idol and kept rejoicing in the gods which their own hands had made.
| پس در آن ایام گوساله‌ای ساختند وبدان بت قربانی گذرانیده به اعمال دستهای خودشادی کردند. | ۴۱ |
42 So God turned from them and gave them up to the worship of the Host of Heaven, as it is written in the Book of the Prophets, "'Were they victims and sacrifices which you offered Me, forty years in the Desert, O House of Israel?
| از این جهت خدا رو گردانیده، ایشان را واگذاشت تا جنود آسمان را پرستش نمایند، چنانکه در صحف انبیا نوشته شده است که “ای خاندان اسرائیل، آیا مدت چهل سال دربیابان برای من قربانی‌ها و هدایا گذرانیدید؟ | ۴۲ |
43 Yes, you lifted up Moloch's tent and the Star of the God Rephan--the images which you made in order to worship them; and I will remove you beyond Babylon.'
| وخیمه ملوک و کوکب، خدای خود رمفان رابرداشتید یعنی اصنامی را که ساختید تا آنها راعبادت کنید. پس شما را بدان طرف بابل منتقل سازم.” | ۴۳ |
44 "Our forefathers had the Tent of the Testimony in the Desert, built as He who spoke to Moses had instructed him to make it in imitation of the model which he had seen.
| و خیمه شهادت با پدران ما در صحرابود چنانکه امر فرموده، به موسی گفت: “آن رامطابق نمونه‌ای که دیده‌ای بساز.” | ۴۴ |
45 That Tent was bequeathed to the next generation of our forefathers. Under Joshua they brought it with them when they were taking possession of the land of the Gentile nations, whom God drove out before them. So it continued till David's time.
| و آن را اجداد ما یافته، همراه یوشع درآوردند به ملک امت هایی که خدا آنها را ازپیش روی پدران ما بیرون افکند تا ایام داود. | ۴۵ |
46 David obtained favour with God, and asked leave to provide a dwelling-place for the God of Jacob.
| که او در حضور خدا مستفیض گشت و درخواست نمود که خود مسکنی برای خدای یعقوب پیدانماید. | ۴۶ |
47 But it was Solomon who built a house for Him.
| اما سلیمان برای او خانه‌ای بساخت. | ۴۷ |
48 Yet the Most High does not dwell in buildings erected by men's hands. But, as the Prophet declares,
| و لیکن حضرت اعلی در خانه های مصنوع دستها ساکن نمی شود چنانکه نبی گفته است | ۴۸ |
49 "'The sky is My throne, and earth is the footstool for My feet. What kind of house will you build for Me, says the Lord, or what resting place shall I have?
| که “خداوند می‌گوید آسمان کرسی من است وزمین پای انداز من. چه خانه‌ای برای من بنامی کنید و محل آرامیدن من کجاست؟ | ۴۹ |
50 Did not My hand form this universe.'
| مگردست من جمیع این چیزها را نیافرید.” | ۵۰ |
51 "O stiff-necked men, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you also are continually at strife with the Holy Spirit--just as your forefathers were.
| ای گردنکشان که به دل و گوش نامختونید، شما پیوسته با روح‌القدس مقاومت می‌کنید، چنانکه پدران شما همچنین شما. | ۵۱ |
52 Which of the Prophets did not your forefathers persecute? Yes, they killed those who announced beforehand the advent of the righteous One, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become--
| کیست ازانبیا که پدران شما بدو جفا نکردند؟ و آنانی راکشتند که از آمدن آن عادلی که شما بالفعل تسلیم کنندگان و قاتلان او شدید، پیش اخبارنمودند. | ۵۲ |
53 you who received the Law given through angels, and yet have not obeyed it."
| شما که به توسط فرشتگان شریعت رایافته، آن را حفظ نکردید!» | ۵۳ |
54 As they listened to these words, they became infuriated and gnashed their teeth at him.
| چون این را شنیدند دلریش شده، بر وی دندانهای خود را فشردند. | ۵۴ |
55 But, full of the Holy Spirit and looking up to Heaven, Stephen saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at God's right hand.
| اما او از روح‌القدس پر بوده، به سوی آسمان نگریست و جلال خدا رادید و عیسی را بدست راست خدا ایستاده وگفت: | ۵۵ |
56 "I can see Heaven wide open," he said, "and the Son of Man standing at God's right hand."
| «اینک آسمان را گشاده، و پسر انسان رابه‌دست راست خدا ایستاده می‌بینم.» | ۵۶ |
57 Upon this, with a loud outcry they stopped their ears, rushed upon Stephen in a body,
| آنگاه به آواز بلند فریاد برکشیدند و گوشهای خود راگرفته، به یکدل بر او حمله کردند، | ۵۷ |
58 dragged him out of the city, and stoned him, the witnesses throwing off their outer garments and giving them into the care of a young man called Saul.
| و از شهربیرون کشیده، سنگسارش کردند. و شاهدان، جامه های خود را نزد پایهای جوانی که سولس نام داشت گذاردند. | ۵۸ |
59 So they stoned Stephen, while he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
| و چون استیفان را سنگسارمی کردند، او دعا نموده، گفت: «ای عیسی خداوند، روح مرا بپذیر.» | ۵۹ |
60 Then, rising on his knees, he cried aloud, "Lord, do not reckon this sin against them." And with these words he fell asleep.
| پس زانو زده، به آوازبلند ندا در‌داد که «خداوندا این گناه را بر اینهامگیر.» این را گفت و خوابید. | ۶۰ |
