Acts 3
1 One day Peter and John were going up to the Temple for the hour of prayer--the ninth hour--and, just then,
E Pedro e João subiam juntos ao templo á hora da oração, a nona.
2 some men were carrying there one who had been lame from birth, whom they were wont to place every day close to the Beautiful Gate (as it was called) of the Temple, for him to beg from the people as they went in.
E era trazido um varão que desde o ventre de sua mãe era côxo, o qual cada dia punham á porta do templo, chamada Formosa, para pedir esmola aos que entravam no templo.
3 Seeing Peter and John about to go into the Temple, he asked them for alms.
O qual, vendo a Pedro e João, que iam entrando no templo, pediu que lhe déssem uma esmola.
4 Peter fixing his eyes on him, as John did also, said, "Look at us."
E Pedro, com João, fitando os olhos n'elle, disse: Olha para nós.
5 So he looked and waited, expecting to receive something from them.
E olhou para elles, esperando receber d'elles alguma coisa.
6 "I have no silver or gold," Peter said, "but what I have, I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene-- walk!"
E disse Pedro: Não tenho prata nem oiro; mas o que tenho isso te dou. Em nome de Jesus Christo, o Nazareno, levanta-te e anda.
7 Then taking his hand Peter lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankles were strengthened.
E, tomando-o pela mão direita, o levantou, e logo os seus pés e artelhos se firmaram.
8 Leaping up, he stood upright and began to walk, and went into the Temple with them, walking, leaping, and praising God.
E, saltando elle, poz-se em pé, e andou, e entrou com elles no templo, andando, e saltando, e louvando a Deus;
9 All the people saw him walking and praising God;
E todo o povo o viu andar e louvar a Deus;
10 and recognizing him as the man who used to sit at the Beautiful Gate of the Temple asking for alms, they were filled with awe and amazement at what had happened to him.
E conheciam-n'o, que era elle o que se assentava á esmola á porta Formosa do templo, e ficaram cheios de pasmo e assombro, pelo que lhe acontecera.
11 While he still clung to Peter and John, the people, awe-struck, ran up crowding round them in what was known as Solomon's Portico.
E, apegando-se o côxo, que fôra curado, a Pedro e João, todo o povo correu attonito para junto d'elles, ao alpendre chamado de Salomão.
12 Peter, seeing this, spoke to the people. "Israelites," he said, "why do you wonder at this man? Or why gaze at us, as though by any power or piety of our own we had enabled him to walk?
E Pedro, vendo isto, disse ao povo: Varões israelitas, porque vos maravilhaes d'isto? Ou, porque olhaes tanto para nós, como se por nossa propria virtude ou sanctidade o fizessemos andar?
13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our forefathers, has conferred this honour on His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and disowned in the presence of Pilate, when he had decided to let Him go.
O Deus d'Abrahão, e de Isaac e de Jacob, o Deus de nossos paes, glorificou a seu filho Jesus, a quem vós entregastes e perante a face de Pilatos negastes, julgando elle que devia ser solto.
14 Yes, you disowned the holy and righteous One, and asked as a favour the release of a murderer.
Mas vós negastes o Sancto e o Justo, e pedistes que se vos désse um homem homicida.
15 The Prince of Life you put to death; but God has raised Him from the dead, and we are witnesses as to that.
E matastes o Principe da vida, ao qual Deus resuscitou dos mortos, do que nós somos testemunhas.
16 It is His name-- faith in that name being the condition--which has strengthened this man whom you behold and know; and the faith which He has given has made this man sound and strong again, as you can all see.
E pela fé no seu nome o seu nome fortaleceu a este que vêdes e conheceis; e a fé que é por elle deu a este, na presença de todos vós, esta perfeita saude
17 "And now, brethren, I know that it was in ignorance that you did it, as was the case with your rulers also.
E agora, irmãos, eu sei que o fizestes por ignorancia, como tambem os vossos principes:
18 But in this way God has fulfilled the declarations He made through all the Prophets, that His Christ would suffer.
Mas Deus assim cumpriu o que já d'antes pela bocca de todos os seus prophetas havia annunciado; que o Christo havia de padecer.
19 Repent, therefore, and reform your lives, so that the record of your sins may be cancelled, and that there may come seasons of revival from the Lord,
Arrependei-vos, pois, e convertei-vos, para que sejam apagados os vossos peccados, quando vierem os tempos do refrigerio pela presença do Senhor,
20 and that He may send the Christ appointed beforehand for you--even Jesus.
E elle enviar a Jesus Christo, que já d'antes vos foi prégado:
21 Heaven must receive Him until those times of which God has spoken from the earliest ages through the lips of His holy Prophets--the times of the reconstitution of all things. (aiōn g165)
O qual convem que o céu contenha até aos tempos da restauração de todas as coisas, das quaes Deus fallou pela bocca de todos os seus sanctos prophetas, desde todo o seculo. (aiōn g165)
22 Moses declared, "'The Lord your God will raise up a Prophet for you from among your brethren as He has raised me. In all that He says to you, you must listen to Him.
Porque Moysés disse aos paes: O Senhor vosso Deus levantará d'entre vossos irmãos um propheta similhante a mim: a elle ouvireis em tudo quanto vos disser.
23 And every one, without exception, who refuses to listen to that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the People.'
E acontecerá que toda a alma que não escutar esse propheta será exterminada d'entre o povo.
24 Yes, and all the Prophets, from Samuel onwards--all who have spoken--have also announced the coming of this present time.
E tambem todos os prophetas, desde Samuel, e todos quantos depois teem fallado, já d'antes annunciaram esses dias.
25 "You are the heirs of the Prophets, and of the Covenant which God made with your forefathers when He said to Abraham, 'And through your posterity all the families of the world shall be blessed.'
Vós sois os filhos dos prophetas, e do concerto que Deus fez com nossos paes, dizendo a Abrahão: Na tua descendencia serão bemditas todas as familias da terra.
26 It is to you first that God, after raising His Servant from the grave, has sent Him to bless you, by causing every one of you to turn from your wickedness."
Resuscitando Deus a seu Filho Jesus, primeiro o enviou a vós, para que n'isso vos abençoasse, e vos desviasse, a cada um, das vossas maldades.
