Acts 2
1 At length, on the day of the Harvest Festival, they had all met in one place;
Cuando llegó el día del Pentecostés, todos estaban reunidos en un mismo lugar.
2 when suddenly there came from the sky a sound as of a strong rushing blast of wind. This filled the whole house where they were sitting;
De repente se escuchó un ruido que provenía del cielo, como un viento que aullaba y llenó toda la casa donde estaban.
3 and they saw tongues of what looked like fire distributing themselves over the assembly, and on the head of each person a tongue alighted.
Y vieron lo que parecía como diferentes llamas con forma de lenguas que se posaron sobre cada uno de ellos.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in foreign languages according as the Spirit gave them words to utter.
Todos fueron llenos del Espíritu Santo y comenzaron a hablar en diferentes lenguas a medida que el Espíritu se los permitía.
5 Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every part of the world.
En ese momento había allí judíos devotos provenientes de todas las naciones de la tierra, que vivían en Jerusalén.
6 So when this noise was heard, they came crowding together, and were amazed because everyone heard his own language spoken.
Cuando escucharon este ruido, se reunió una gran multitud de ellos. Estaban perplejos porque todos escuchaban hablar en su propio idioma.
7 They were beside themselves with wonder, and exclaimed, "Are not all these speakers Galilaeans?
Y estaban totalmente sorprendidos, diciendo: “Miren, ¿no son Galileos todos estos que están hablando?
8 How then does each of us hear his own native language spoken by them?
¿Cómo es posible que les escuchemos hablar en nuestros propios idiomas?
9 Some of us are Parthians, Medes, Elamites. Some are inhabitants of Mesopotamia, of Judaea or Cappadocia, of Pontus or the Asian Province, of Phrygia or Pamphylia,
Partos, Medos y Elamitas; gente de Mesopotamia, Judea y Capadocia, Ponto y Asia,
10 of Egypt or of the parts of Africa towards Cyrene. Others are visitors from Rome--being either Jews or converts from heathenism--and others are Cretans or Arabians.
Frigia y Panfilia; desde Egipto y el área de Libia alrededor de Cirene; visitantes de Roma, tanto judíos como conversos,
11 Yet we all alike hear these Galilaeans speaking in our own language about the wonderful things which God has done."

12 They were all astounded and bewildered, and asked one another, "What can this mean?"
Y todos estaban sorprendidos y confundidos. Y unos a otros se preguntaban “¿Qué significa esto?”
13 But others, scornfully jeering, said, "They are brim-full of sweet wine."
Pero había otros que se burlaban y decían: “¡De seguro han estado tomando mucho vino!”
14 Peter however, together with the Eleven, stood up and addressed them in a loud voice. "Men of Judaea, and all you inhabitants of Jerusalem," he said, "be in no uncertainty about this matter but pay attention to what I say.
Entonces Pedro se puso en pie con los otros once discípulos y habló en voz alta: “¡Hermanos judíos y todos los que viven aquí en Jerusalén: préstenme atención y les explicaré todo esto!
15 For this is not intoxication, as you suppose, it being only the third hour of the day.
Estos hombres no están ebrios, como ustedes insinúan. ¡Noten que apenas son las nueve de la mañana!
16 But that which was predicted through the Prophet Joel has happened:
Lo que está sucediendo es lo que fue predicho por el profeta Joel:
17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, God says, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall have dreams;
‘Dios dice: En los últimos días, derramaré mi Espíritu sobre toda la gente. Sus hijos e hijas profetizarán. Sus jóvenes tendrán visiones, y sus ancianos tendrán sueños.
18 and even upon My bondservants, both men and women, at that time, I will pour out My Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
En esos días derramaré mi Espíritu sobre mis siervos —hombres y mujeres por igual— y profetizarán.
19 I will display marvels in the sky above, and signs on the earth below, blood and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Y haré maravillas arriba en los cielos y señales abajo en la tierra: sangre, fuego y nubes de humo.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, to usher in the day of the Lord-- that great and illustrious day;
El sol se oscurecerá, y la luna se pondrá roja como la sangre antes de que llegue el día grande y glorioso del Señor.
21 and every one who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
Pero todo el que invoque el nombre del Señor será salvo’.
22 "Listen, Israelites, to what I say. Jesus, the Nazarene, a man accredited to you from God by miracles and marvels and signs which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know, Him--
“Pueblo de Israel, escuchen esto: como bien lo saben, Jesús de Nazaret fue un hombre confirmado por Dios ante ustedes por medio de los milagros poderosos y las señales que Dios hizo por medio de él.
23 delivered up through God's settled purpose and foreknowledge--you by the hands of Gentiles have nailed to a cross and have put to death.
Dios, sabiendo de antemano lo que sucedería, siguió su plan y resolvió entregarlo en manos de ustedes. Por mano de hombres malvados, ustedes lo mataron, clavándolo en una cruz.
24 But God has raised Him to life, having terminated the throes of death, for in fact it was not possible for Him to be held fast by death.
Pero Dios lo levantó nuevamente a la vida, libertándolo de la carga de la muerte, porque la muerte no tuvo poder para tenerlo prisionero.
25 For David says in reference to Him, "'I constantly fixed my eyes upon the Lord, because He is at my right hand in order that I may continue unshaken.
“David dice de él: ‘Vi al Señor siempre conmigo. No seré sacudido, porque él está aquí a mi lado.
26 For this reason my heart is glad and my tongue exults. My body also shall rest in hope.
¡Con razón mi corazón está contento, y mi lengua grita sus alabanzas! Mi cuerpo descansa en esperanza.
27 For Thou wilt not leave me in the Unseen World forsaken, nor give up Thy holy One to undergo decay. (Hadēs g86)
Pues tú no dejarás mi alma entre los muertos ni permitirás que tu Santo se pudra en la tumba. (Hadēs g86)
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of Life: Thou wilt fill me with gladness in Thy presence.'
Me has mostrado el camino de la vida y me llenarás con la alegría de tu presencia’.
29 "As to the patriarch David, I need hardly remind you, brethren, that he died and was buried, and that we still have his tomb among us.
“Mis hermanos y hermanas, permítanme decirles claramente que nuestro antepasado David murió y fue sepultado, y su tumba está aquí con nosotros hasta el día de hoy.
30 Being a Prophet, however, and knowing that God had solemnly sworn to him to seat a descendant of his upon his throne,
Pero él era un profeta, y sabía que Dios había prometido bajo juramento poner en su trono a uno de sus descendientes.
31 with prophetic foresight he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, to the effect that He was not left forsaken in the Unseen World, nor did His body undergo decay. (Hadēs g86)
David vio lo que sucedería y habló sobre la resurrección de Cristo, porque Cristo no fue abandonado en su tumba, ni sufrió descomposición. (Hadēs g86)
32 This Jesus, God has raised to life-- a fact to which all of us testify.
“Dios ha levantado a este Jesús de entre los muertos, y todos nosotros somos testigos de eso.
33 "Being therefore lifted high by the mighty hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out this which you see and hear.
Ahora él ha sido exaltado a la diestra de Dios y ha recibido del Padre al Espíritu Santo, el cual prometió, y ha derramado lo que ustedes están viendo y oyendo.
34 For David did not ascend into Heaven, but he says himself, "'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand
Porque David no ascendió al cielo, pero dijo: ‘El Señor dijo a mi Señor; siéntate a mi diestra,
35 until I make thy foes a footstool under thy feet.'
entretanto que pongo a tus enemigos por estrado de tus pies’.
36 "Therefore let the whole House of Israel know beyond all doubt that God has made Him both LORD and CHRIST--this Jesus whom you crucified."
Ahora esté todo Israel convencido de esto: ¡Dios ha puesto a este Jesús, a quien ustedes mataron en una cruz, como Señor y Mesías!”
37 Stung to the heart by these words, they said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles, "Brethren, what are we to do?"
Cuando la gente escuchó esto, sintieron remordimiento de conciencia. Entonces le preguntaron a Pedro y a los apóstoles: “Hermanos, ¿qué debemos hacer?”
38 "Repent," replied Peter, "and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, with a view to the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
“¡Arrepiéntanse!” les dijo Pedro. “Todos deben bautizarse en el nombre de Jesús para perdón de sus pecados, y recibirán el don del Espíritu Santo.
39 For to you belongs the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, whoever the Lord our God may call."
Esta promesa es para ustedes, para sus hijos, y para todos los extranjeros. Para todo aquél a quien el Señor nuestro Dios llama”.
40 And with many more appeals he solemnly warned and entreated them, saying, "Escape from this crooked generation."
Luego Pedro siguió hablando, dándoles más evidencias. Les advirtió: “Sálvense de esta generación perversa”.
41 Those, therefore, who joyfully welcomed his Message were baptized; and on that one day about three thousand persons were added to them;
Aquellos que aceptaban lo que él decía, eran bautizados, sumándose así cerca de tres mil personas al grupo de creyentes en ese día.
42 and they were constant in listening to the teaching of the Apostles and in their attendance at the Communion, that is, the Breaking of the Bread, and at prayer.
Ellos se comprometieron a seguir lo que los apóstoles les habían enseñado, y a la hermandad de los creyentes, “partiendo el pan” y orando juntos.
43 Fear came upon every one, and many marvels and signs were done by the Apostles.
Todos estaban asombrados, y a través de los apóstoles se realizaban muchos milagros y señales.
44 And all the believers kept together, and had everything in common.
Y todos los creyentes estaban juntos y compartían todo lo que tenían.
45 They sold their lands and other property, and distributed the proceeds among all, according to every one's necessities.
Ellos vendían sus propiedades y pertenencias, compartiendo las ganancias con todos, en cuanto lo necesitaban.
46 And, day by day, attending constantly in the Temple with one accord, and breaking bread in private houses, they took their meals with great happiness and single-heartedness,
Día tras día siguieron reuniéndose en el Templo, y comían juntos en sus casas. Disfrutaban de las comidas con humildad y alegría. Alababan a Dios, y todos pensaban bien de ellos.
47 praising God and being regarded with favour by all the people. Also, day by day, the Lord added to their number those whom He was saving.
Cada día el Señor agregaba al grupo aquellos que iban siendo salvos.
