< Acts 2 >
1 At length, on the day of the Harvest Festival, they had all met in one place;
Awo olunaku lwa Pentekoote bwe lwatuuka bonna baali bakuŋŋaanidde mu kisenge kimu.
2 when suddenly there came from the sky a sound as of a strong rushing blast of wind. This filled the whole house where they were sitting;
Amangwago okuwuuma, nga kuli ng’empewo ey’amaanyi ennyo ekunta, ne kuva mu ggulu, ne kujjula mu nnyumba yonna mwe baali batudde.
3 and they saw tongues of what looked like fire distributing themselves over the assembly, and on the head of each person a tongue alighted.
Ku buli omu ne kutuulako ennimi ng’ez’omuliro.
4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in foreign languages according as the Spirit gave them words to utter.
Bonna ne bajjuzibwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu, ne batandika okwogera ennimi ez’enjawulo nga Mwoyo Mutukuvu bwe yabasobozesa.
5 Now there were Jews residing in Jerusalem, devout men from every part of the world.
Waaliwo Abayudaaya bangi abatya Katonda abaali bazze mu Yerusaalemi nga bavudde mu buli ggwanga wansi w’eggulu.
6 So when this noise was heard, they came crowding together, and were amazed because everyone heard his own language spoken.
Bwe baawulira okuwuuma okwo, ekibiina kinene ne kikuŋŋaana, ne beewuunya okuwulira nga buli muntu awulira olulimi lw’ewaabwe.
7 They were beside themselves with wonder, and exclaimed, "Are not all these speakers Galilaeans?
Ne bawuniikirira ne beewuunya ne bagamba nti, “Bano bonna aboogera si Bagaliraaya?
8 How then does each of us hear his own native language spoken by them?
Kale lwaki tuwulira buli muntu olulimi lw’ewaffe gye twazaalibwa?
9 Some of us are Parthians, Medes, Elamites. Some are inhabitants of Mesopotamia, of Judaea or Cappadocia, of Pontus or the Asian Province, of Phrygia or Pamphylia,
Tubawulira nga boogera eby’amagero bya Katonda mu nnimi ez’Abapaazi, n’Abameedi, n’Abeeramiti, n’ez’abalala abava e Mesopotamiya, ne Buyudaaya, ne Kapadokiya, mu Ponto ne mu Asiya,
10 of Egypt or of the parts of Africa towards Cyrene. Others are visitors from Rome--being either Jews or converts from heathenism--and others are Cretans or Arabians.
ne mu Fulugiya ne mu Panfuliya, n’abamu abava mu Misiri, n’ensi za Libiya okuliraana Kuleene, n’abagenyi Abaruumi,
11 Yet we all alike hear these Galilaeans speaking in our own language about the wonderful things which God has done."
Abayudaaya, n’abakyuka ne basoma Ekiyudaaya, n’Abakuleete n’Abawalabu.”
12 They were all astounded and bewildered, and asked one another, "What can this mean?"
Bonna ne beewuunya nga bawuniikiridde, ne bagambagana nti, “Kino kitegeeza ki?”
13 But others, scornfully jeering, said, "They are brim-full of sweet wine."
Naye abalala ne baseka busesi nga bagamba nti, “Banywedde mwenge musu!”
14 Peter however, together with the Eleven, stood up and addressed them in a loud voice. "Men of Judaea, and all you inhabitants of Jerusalem," he said, "be in no uncertainty about this matter but pay attention to what I say.
Awo Peetero n’asituka n’abatume ekkumi n’omu, n’asitula ku ddoboozi n’ayogera eri ekibiina, n’abagamba nti, “Abasajja Abayudaaya, nammwe mwenna ababeera mu Yerusaalemi, mutegeere bino era mumpulirize.
15 For this is not intoxication, as you suppose, it being only the third hour of the day.
Abantu bano tebatamidde nga bwe mulowooza, kubanga essaawa ziri ssatu ez’enkya!
16 But that which was predicted through the Prophet Joel has happened:
Naye kino kye kyayogerwako nnabbi Yoweeri nti,
17 "And it shall come to pass in the last days, God says, that I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall have dreams;
“‘Olulituuka mu nnaku ez’oluvannyuma, bw’ayogera Katonda, ndifuka Omwoyo wange ku balina omubiri bonna. Batabani bammwe ne bawala bammwe baliwa obunnabbi; n’abavubuka bammwe balyolesebwa, n’abakadde baliroota ebirooto.
18 and even upon My bondservants, both men and women, at that time, I will pour out My Spirit, and they shall prophesy.
Mu biro ebyo ndifuka Omwoyo wange, ku baweereza bange abasajja n’abakazi; baliwa obunnabbi.
19 I will display marvels in the sky above, and signs on the earth below, blood and fire, and pillars of smoke.
Era ndikola ebyamagero mu ggulu waggulu, n’obubonero ku nsi wansi, omusaayi n’omuliro n’ekikoomi eky’omukka.
20 The sun shall be turned into darkness and the moon into blood, to usher in the day of the Lord-- that great and illustrious day;
Enjuba erifuuka ekizikiza, n’omwezi gulimyuka ng’omusaayi, olunaku lwa Mukama olukulu era olw’ekitiibwa nga terunnatuuka.
21 and every one who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
Na buli muntu alikoowoola erinnya lya Mukama, alirokolebwa.’
22 "Listen, Israelites, to what I say. Jesus, the Nazarene, a man accredited to you from God by miracles and marvels and signs which God did among you through Him, as you yourselves know, Him--
“Abasajja Abayisirayiri, muwulirize ebigambo bino! Yesu Omunnazaaleesi omuntu Katonda gwe yakakasa gye muli n’ebyamagero eby’ekitalo, Katonda bye yamukozesanga ng’ali mu mmwe, nga mwenna bwe mumanyi.
23 delivered up through God's settled purpose and foreknowledge--you by the hands of Gentiles have nailed to a cross and have put to death.
Naye ng’enteekateeka ya Katonda bwe yali, omuntu oyo yaweebwayo mu mikono gy’abantu abatagoberera mateeka, ne mumutta nga mumukomeredde ku musaalaba.
24 But God has raised Him to life, having terminated the throes of death, for in fact it was not possible for Him to be held fast by death.
Kyokka Katonda yamuzuukiza ng’asaanyizaawo obulumi bw’okufa, kubanga okufa tekwayinza kumunyweza.
25 For David says in reference to Him, "'I constantly fixed my eyes upon the Lord, because He is at my right hand in order that I may continue unshaken.
Kubanga Dawudi amwogerako nti, “‘Nalaba nga Mukama ali nange bulijjo, kubanga ali ku mukono gwange ogwa ddyo, nneme okusagaasagana.
26 For this reason my heart is glad and my tongue exults. My body also shall rest in hope.
Noolwekyo omutima gwange kyeguvudde gusanyuka, n’olulimi lwange ne lukutendereza. Era n’omubiri gwange gunaabeeranga mu ssuubi.
27 For Thou wilt not leave me in the Unseen World forsaken, nor give up Thy holy One to undergo decay. (Hadēs )
Kubanga tolireka mwoyo gwange kuzikirira so toliganya mutukuvu wo kuvunda. (Hadēs )
28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of Life: Thou wilt fill me with gladness in Thy presence.'
Wandaga amakubo g’obulamu, era olinzijuza essanyu nga ndi mu maaso go.’
29 "As to the patriarch David, I need hardly remind you, brethren, that he died and was buried, and that we still have his tomb among us.
“Abasajja abooluganda, nnyinza okwogera n’obuvumu gye muli ku bifa ku jjajjaffe Dawudi nga yafa n’aziikibwa, era n’amalaalo ge weegali ne kaakano.
30 Being a Prophet, however, and knowing that God had solemnly sworn to him to seat a descendant of his upon his throne,
Naye Dawudi yali nnabbi, n’amanya nga Katonda yamulayirira ekirayiro, nti mu bibala eby’omu ntumbwe ze mwe muliva alituula ku ntebe ey’obwakabaka bwe,
31 with prophetic foresight he spoke of the resurrection of the Christ, to the effect that He was not left forsaken in the Unseen World, nor did His body undergo decay. (Hadēs )
bwe yakiraba olubereberye nayogera ku kuzuukira kwa Kristo nga teyalekebwa magombe so nga n’omubiri gwe tegwavunda. (Hadēs )
32 This Jesus, God has raised to life-- a fact to which all of us testify.
Yesu oyo Katonda yamuzuukiza, era ffe ffenna tuli bajulirwa.
33 "Being therefore lifted high by the mighty hand of God, He has received from the Father the promised Holy Spirit and has poured out this which you see and hear.
Awo bwe yagulumizibwa n’alaga ku mukono ogwa ddyo ogwa Katonda, n’aweebwa Mwoyo Mutukuvu eyamusuubizibwa Kitaffe, n’alyoka atuwa kino nammwe kye mwerabiddeko era kye mwewuliriddeko.
34 For David did not ascend into Heaven, but he says himself, "'The Lord said to my Lord, Sit at My right hand
Kubanga Dawudi teyalinnya mu ggulu, naye agamba nti, “‘Mukama yagamba Mukama wange nti, “Tuula ku mukono gwange ogwa ddyo,
35 until I make thy foes a footstool under thy feet.'
okutuusa lwe ndifuula abalabe bo entebe y’ebigere byo.”’
36 "Therefore let the whole House of Israel know beyond all doubt that God has made Him both LORD and CHRIST--this Jesus whom you crucified."
“Noolwekyo ennyumba yonna eya Isirayiri, bamanyire ddala nti oyo Yesu gwe mwakomerera ku musaalaba, Katonda yamufuula Mukama era Kristo!”
37 Stung to the heart by these words, they said to Peter and the rest of the Apostles, "Brethren, what are we to do?"
Awo bwe baawuulira ebigambo ebyo, emitima ne gibaluma, ne bagamba Peetero n’abatume abalala, nti, “Abooluganda, kiki kye tusaanidde okukola?”
38 "Repent," replied Peter, "and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, with a view to the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Peetero n’abagamba nti, “Mwenenye, buli omu ku mmwe abatizibwe mu linnya lya Yesu Kristo musonyiyibwe ebibi byammwe, olwo nammwe mujja kufuna ekirabo ekya Mwoyo Mutukuvu.
39 For to you belongs the promise, and to your children, and to all who are far off, whoever the Lord our God may call."
Kubanga ekisuubizo kiri eri mmwe n’eri abaana bammwe, n’eri bonna abali mu nsi ezeewala abalikoowoola Mukama Katonda waffe.”
40 And with many more appeals he solemnly warned and entreated them, saying, "Escape from this crooked generation."
Awo Peetero n’abategeeza mu bigambo ebirala bingi n’ababuulira ng’agamba nti mulokolebwe okuva mu mulembe guno ogwakyama.
41 Those, therefore, who joyfully welcomed his Message were baptized; and on that one day about three thousand persons were added to them;
Awo abo abakkiriza ebigambo bye ne babatizibwa ku lunaku olwo ne beeyongerako ng’enkumi ssatu.
42 and they were constant in listening to the teaching of the Apostles and in their attendance at the Communion, that is, the Breaking of the Bread, and at prayer.
Ne banyiikiranga okuyigirizibwa kw’abatume ne mu kussekimu, ne mu kumenya omugaati era ne mu kusaba.
43 Fear came upon every one, and many marvels and signs were done by the Apostles.
Buli muntu n’ajjula okutya era ebyamagero bingi n’obubonero bungi ne bikolebwanga abatume.
44 And all the believers kept together, and had everything in common.
Abakkiriza ne bakuŋŋaananga bulijjo mu kifo kimu, ne baba nga bassa kimu mu byonna.
45 They sold their lands and other property, and distributed the proceeds among all, according to every one's necessities.
Eby’obugagga byabwe n’ebintu bye baalina ne babitunda ne bagabira buli muntu ng’okwetaaga kwe bwe kwabanga.
46 And, day by day, attending constantly in the Temple with one accord, and breaking bread in private houses, they took their meals with great happiness and single-heartedness,
Ne banyiikiranga okukuŋŋaananga mu Yeekaalu buli lunaku, era ne bakuŋŋaananga ne mu maka gaabwe nju ku nju okumenya omugaati, ne baliiranga wamu emmere yaabwe n’essanyu lingi n’omutima ogutalina bukuusa,
47 praising God and being regarded with favour by all the people. Also, day by day, the Lord added to their number those whom He was saving.
nga batendereza Katonda, era nga basiimibwa abantu bonna. Mukama n’abongerangako bulijjo abaalokolebwanga.
