2 Timothy 3
1 But of this be assured: in the last days grievous times will set in.
Lakini fahamu hili: katika siku za mwisho kutakuwa na nyakati ngumu.
2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, haughty, profane. They will be disobedient to parents, thankless, irreligious,
kwa sababu watu watakuwa wenye kujipenda wenyewe, wenye kupenda fedha, wenye kujisifu, wenye majivuno, wenye dhihaka, wasiotii wazazi wao, wasiokuwa na shukurani na waovu.
3 destitute of natural affection, unforgiving, slanderers. They will have no self-control, but will be brutal, opposed to goodness,
Wasio na upendo wa asili, wasiotaka kuishi kwa amani na yeyote, wachonganishi, wasingiziaji, wasioweza kujizuia, wenye vurugu, wasiopenda mema.
4 treacherous, headstrong, self-important. They will love pleasure instead of loving God,
Watakuwa wasaliti, wakaidi, wenye kujipenda wenyewe na wapenda anasa kuliko kumpenda Mungu.
5 and will keep up a make-believe of piety and yet live in defiance of its power. Turn away from people of this sort.
Kwa nje watakuwa na sura ya ucha Mungu, lakini wataikana nguvu yake. Jiepushe na watu hao.
6 Among them are included the men who make their way into private houses and carry off weak women as their prisoners--women who, weighed down by the burden of their sins, are led by ever-changing caprice,
Kwa kuwa baadhi yao ni wanaume wanaoingia kwenye familia za watu na kushawishi wanawake wajinga. Hawa ni wanawake waliojawa dhambi na wenye kuongozwa na tamaa za kila aina.
7 and are always learning something new, and yet are never able to arrive at real knowledge of the truth.
Wanawake hawa hujifunza siku zote, lakini kamwe hawawezi kuufikia ufahamu wa ile kweli.
8 And just as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also these false teachers withstand the truth--being, as they are, men of debased intellects, and of no real worth so far as faith is concerned.
Kama vile ambavyo Yane na Yambre walisimama kinyume na Musa. Kwa njia hii walimu hawa wa uongo husimama kinyume na kweli. Ni watu walioharibiwa katika fikira zao, wasiokubalika kuhusiana na imani.
9 But they will have no further success; for their folly will be as clearly manifest to all men, as that of the opponents of Moses came to be.
Lakini hawataendelea mbali. Kwa kuwa upumbavu wao utawekwa wazi kwa watu wote, kama ulivyokuwa wa wale watu.
10 But you have intimately known my teaching, life, aims, faith, patience, love, resignation,
Lakini wewe umeyafuata mafundisho yangu, mwenendo wangu, makusudi yangu, imani yangu, uvumilivu wangu, upendo wangu na ustahimilivu wangu,
11 and the persecutions and sufferings which I have endured; the things which happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and Lystra. You know the persecutions I endured, and how the Lord delivered me out of them all.
mateso, maumivu na yaliyonipata kule Antiokia, Ikonio na Listra. Niliyavumilia mateso. Bwana aliniokoa katika yote hayo.
12 And indeed every one who is determined to live a godly life as a follower of Christ Jesus will be persecuted.
Wote wanaotaka kuishi katika maisha ya kumcha Mungu katika Kristo Yesu watateswa.
13 But bad men and impostors will go on from bad to worse, misleading and being misled.
Watu waovu na wadanganyifu watazidi kuwa waovu zaidi. Watawapotosha wengine. Wao wenyewe wamepotoshwa.
14 But you must cling to the things which you have learnt and have been taught to believe, knowing who your teachers were,
Lakini wewe, dumu katika mambo uliyojifunza na kuyaamini kwa uthabiti. Kwa kuwa unajua umejifunza kwa nani.
15 and that from infancy you have known the sacred writings which are able to make you wise to obtain salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
Unatambua ya kuwa tangu utotoni mwako uliyajua maandiko matakatifu. Haya yanaweza kukuhekimisha kwa ajili ya wokovu kwa njia ya imani katika kristo Yesu.
16 Every Scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for convincing, for correction of error, and for instruction in right doing;
Kila andiko limetiwa pumzi na Mungu. Linafaa kwa mafundisho yenye faida, kwa kushawishi, kwa kurekebisha makosa, na kwa kufundishia katika haki.
17 so that the man of God may himself be complete and may be perfectly equipped for every good work.
Hii ni kwamba mtu wa Mungu awe kamili, akiwa amepewa nyenzo zote kwa ajili ya kutenda kila kazi njema.
