< 2 Timothy 2 >

1 You then, my child, must be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
Te dongah ka ca nang Khrih Jesuh ah lungvatnah neh thaphoh uh.
2 All that you have been taught by me in the hearing of many witnesses, you must hand on to trusty men who shall themselves, in turn, be competent to instruct others also.
Te khaw kai lamloh laipai a yet neh na yaak coeng. He he uepom hlang taengah pae ne. Amih tah a tloe thuituen ham khaw khangmai la om bitni.
3 As a good soldier of Christ Jesus accept your share of suffering.
Jesuh Khrih kah rhalkap then la patang puei.
4 Every one who serves as a soldier keeps himself from becoming entangled in the world's business--so that he may satisfy the officer who enlisted him.
Aka vathoh loh a khosaknah dongkah khosak rhamok neh a tingtong pawt daengah ni caemthoh te kolo la a om eh.
5 And if any one takes part in an athletic contest, he gets no prize unless he obeys the rules.
Khat khat long khaw a loehlang dae a longim pawt la a loehlang atah rhuisam a khuem moenih.
6 The harvestman who labours in the field must be the first to get a share of the crop.
Thakthae lotawn te lamhma la a thaih a dang ham a kuek.
7 Mark well what I am saying: the Lord will give you discernment in everything.
Ka thui te yakming lah. A cungkuem dongah yakmingnah te Boeipa loh nang ham m'paek bitni.
8 Never forget that Jesus Christ has risen from among the dead and is a descendant of David, as is declared in the Good News which I preach.
Kaimih kah olthangthen vanbangla David tiingan lamkah neh duek lamkah aka thoo Jesuh Khrih te poek.
9 For preaching the Good News I suffer, and am even put in chains, as if I were a criminal: yet the word of God is not imprisoned.
Te ham te laihmuh bangla thongtlak hilah ka patang dae Pathen kah Olka tah pinyen hlan.
10 For this reason I endure all things for the sake of God's own people; so that they also may obtain salvation--even the salvation which is in Christ Jesus--and with it eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
Te dongah a coelh rhoek ham te boeih ka ueh. Te daengah ni khangnah te amih loh dungyan thangpomnah neh Khrih Jesuh ah a dang uh van eh. (aiōnios g166)
11 Faithful is the saying: "If we died with Him, we shall also live with Him;
He ol he a uepom ta. N'duek atah n'hing puei van ni ta.
12 "If we patiently endure pain, we shall also share His Kingship; "If we disown Him, He will also disown us;
N'ueh uh atah m'manghai uh van ni ta. N'hnawt uh van atah amah loh mamih he n'hnawt van ni.
13 "And even if our faith fails, He remains true--He cannot prove false to Himself."
Amah a hnawt thai pawt dongah n'hnalval uh cakhaw anih tah uepom la naeh ngawn ta.
14 Bring all this to men's remembrances, solemnly charging them in the presence of God not to waste time in wrangling about mere words, a course which is altogether unprofitable and tends only to the ruin of the hearers.
He rhoek he thoelh pah. Pathen hmaiah naenam pawt ham kang uen. A hoeikhang ham pawt he aka ya rhoek kah pocinah ham ni te.
15 Earnestly seek to commend yourself to God as a servant who, because of his straightforward dealing with the word of truth, has no reason to feel any shame.
Oltak olka te aka paekhlae, aka birhih pawh bibikung tih namah te Pathen taengah ueppang koi la pai hamla haam lah.
16 But from irreligious and frivolous talk hold aloof, for those who indulge in it will proceed from bad to worse in impiety,
Tedae a rhonging kah olhong te rhael, hlangrhong khuila muep cungphoek uh ve.
17 and their teaching will spread like a running sore. Hymenaeus and Philetus are men of that stamp.
Amih kah olka te khaw hmapuek manrhaicak bangla cet ni. Te khuiah Hymenaeus neh Philetu om rhoi.
18 In the matter of the truth they have gone astray, saying that the Resurrection is already past, and so they are overthrowing the faith of some.
Amih rhoi loh oltak te a hlihloeh sak rhoi tih thohkoepnah om coeng a ti rhoi. Te vaengah hlangvang kah tangnah te a palet rhoi.
19 Yet God's solid foundation stands unmoved, bearing this inscription, "The Lord knows those who really belong to Him." And this also, "Let every one who names the Name of the Lord renounce all wickedness."
Tedae Pathen kah khoengim tah khangmai la pai. Hekah kutnoek aka om dongah amah kah la aka om rhoek te Boeipa loh aming. Te dongah Boeipa ming aka phoei boeih long tah boethae lamloh nong saeh.
20 Now in a great house there are not only articles of gold and silver, but also others of wood and of earthenware; and some are for specially honourable, and others for common use.
Tahae kah im puei ah sui neh caben hnopai bueng pawt tih thing neh diklai umam khaw om. Te dongah a ngen tah thangpomnah ham om dae a tloe te tah yahpohnah la om.
21 If therefore a man keeps himself clear of these latter, he himself will be for specially honourable use, consecrated, fit for the Master's service, and fully equipped for every good work.
Te dongah khat khat loh he lamkah amah a cilpoe atah boeikung kah a congpang koi neh bibi then boeih ham a hmoel tih a ciim thangpomnah hnopai la om ni.
22 Keep a strong curb, however, on your youthful cravings; and strive for integrity, good faith, love, peace, in company with all who pray to the Lord with pure hearts.
Te dongah cadongcaloe kah hoehhamnah te rhaelrham tak lamtah duengnah, tangnah, lungnah, thinko a caih la Boeipa aka phoei rhoek neh rhoeprhoinah te huul lah.
23 But avoid foolish discussions with ignorant men, knowing--as you do--that these lead to quarrels;
Tedae aka ang neh angvawk kah olpungnah te hnawt lamtah rhalthohnah ni a saii uh tila ming lah.
24 and a bondservant of the Lord must not quarrel, but must be inoffensive towards all men, a skilful teacher, and patient under wrongs.
Te dongah Boeipa kah sal loh hnueih ham a kuek moenih. Tedae a cungkuem ham kodo la khala neh ueh ham a kuek.
25 He must speak in a gentle tone when correcting the errors of opponents, in the hope that God will at last give them repentance, for them to come to a full knowledge of the truth
Thimkalh rhoek muelhtuetnah neh toel mai. Amih te Pathen loh oltak mingnah dongla yutnah khaw a paek khaming.
26 and recover sober-mindedness and freedom from the Devil's snare, though they are now entrapped by him to do his will.
Te daengah ni amah loh amah kongaih la a tuuk khaw rhaithae kah thaang lamloh a sae uh eh.
