2 Peter 2
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, as there will be teachers of falsehood among you also, who will cunningly introduce fatal divisions, disowning even the Sovereign Lord who has redeemed them, and bringing on themselves swift destruction.
Dar au fost și falși profeți în popor, așa cum vor fi falși învățători printre voi, care vor introduce în ascuns erezii damnabile, negând chiar pe Domnul care i-a răscumpărat, și își aduc asupra lor o nimicire grabnică.
2 And in their immoral ways they will have many eager disciples, through whom religion will be brought into disrepute.
Și mulți vor urma căile lor nimicitoare, din cauza cărora calea adevărului va fi vorbită de rău.
3 Thirsting for riches, they will trade on you with their canting talk. From of old their judgement has been working itself out, and their destruction has not been slumbering.
Și prin lăcomie, cu vorbe prefăcute, vor face comerț pe seama voastră; judecata lor din vechime nu întârzie, și damnarea lor nu ațipește.
4 For God did not spare angels when they had sinned, but hurling them down to Tartarus consigned them to caves of darkness, keeping them in readiness for judgement. (Tartaroō g5020)
Căci dacă Dumnezeu nu a cruțat îngerii care au păcătuit, ci i-a aruncat jos în iad și i-a predat în lanțurile întunericului, să fie păstrați pentru judecată, (Tartaroō g5020)
5 And He did not spare the ancient world, although He preserved Noah, a herald of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a deluge on the world of the ungodly.
Și nu a cruțat vechea lume, ci l-a păzit pe Noe, al optulea om, un predicator al dreptății, aducând potopul asupra lumii celor neevlavioși;
6 He reduced to ashes the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, and condemned them to overthrow, making them an example to people who might in future be living godless lives.
Și a prefăcut cetățile Sodomei și Gomorei în cenușă, le-a condamnat la dărâmare, făcându-le un exemplu pentru cei ce după aceea ar trăi fără evlavie;
7 But when righteous Lot was sore distressed by the gross misconduct of immoral men He rescued him.
Și a scăpat pe dreptul Lot, chinuit în comportarea desfrânată a celor stricați,
8 (For their lawless deeds were torture, day after day, to the pure soul of that righteous man--all that he saw and heard whilst living in their midst.)
(Fiindcă acel bărbat drept, locuind printre ei, prin vedere și auzire își chinuia zi de zi sufletul lui drept cu faptele [lor] nelegiuite);
9 Since all this is so, the Lord knows how to rescue godly men from temptation, and on the other hand how to keep the unrighteous under punishment in readiness for the Day of Judgement,
Domnul știe cum să scape pe cei evlavioși din ispite și să păstreze pe cei nedrepți pentru ziua judecății pentru a fi pedepsiți,
10 and especially those who are abandoned to sensuality--craving, as they do, for polluted things, and scorning control. Fool-hardy and self-willed, they do not tremble when speaking evil of glorious beings;
Dar mai ales pe cei ce umblă după carne în pofta necurăției și disprețuiesc domnia. Înfumurați, încăpățânați, nu le este frică să vorbească rău despre demnități,
11 while angels, though greater than they in might and power, do not bring any insulting accusation against such in the presence of the Lord.
Pe când îngerii, care sunt mai mari în tărie și putere, nu aduc împotriva lor o acuzație defăimătoare înaintea Domnului.
12 But these men, like brute beasts, created (with their natural instincts) only to be captured or destroyed, are abusive in matters of which they are ignorant, and in their corruption will perish,
Dar aceștia, ca dobitoace fără rațiune din fire, făcute pentru a fi prinse și nimicite, vorbesc rău despre cele ce nu înțeleg; și vor pieri complet în propria lor corupție;
13 being doomed to receive a requital for their guilt. They reckon it pleasure to feast daintily in broad daylight. They are spots and blemishes, while feeding luxuriously at their love-feasts, and banqueting with you.
Și vor primi plata nedreptății ca unii care socotesc o plăcere să se destrăbăleze în timpul zilei. Pete și cusururi sunt ei, chefuind în propriile lor înșelăciuni în timp ce sărbătoresc împreună cu voi,
14 Their very eyes are full of adultery--being eyes which never cease from sin. These men set traps to catch unstedfast souls, their own hearts being well trained in greed. They are fore-doomed to God's curse!
Având ochii plini de adulter și neputându-se opri de la păcat; seducând suflete nestatornice, având o inimă antrenată în practici lacome; copii blestemați,
15 Forsaking the straight road, they have gone astray, having eagerly followed in the steps of Balaam, the son of Beor, who was bent on securing the wages of unrighteousness.
Care au părăsit calea dreaptă și s-au rătăcit, urmând calea lui Balaam, fiul lui Bosor, care a iubit plata nedreptății,
16 But he was rebuked for his transgression: a dumb ass spoke with a human voice and checked the madness of the Prophet.
Dar a fost mustrat pentru nelegiuirea sa, măgărița necuvântătoare, vorbind cu vocea omului, a oprit nebunia profetului.
17 These people are wells without water, mists driven along by a storm, men for whom the dense darkness has been reserved.
Aceștia sunt fântâni fără apă, nori purtați de furtună, cărora negura întunericului le este rezervată pentru totdeauna.
18 For, while they pour out their frivolous and arrogant talk, they use earthly cravings--every kind of immorality--as a bait to entrap men who are just escaping from the influence of those who live in error.
Căci ei, vorbind cuvinte umflate ale deșertăciunii, seduc prin poftele cărnii, prin multă desfrânare, pe cei ce, într-adevăr, au scăpat de cei ce trăiesc în rătăcire.
19 And they promise them freedom, although they are themselves the slaves of what is corrupt. For a man is the slave of any one by whom he has been worsted in fight.
În timp ce le promit libertate, ei înșiși sunt robi ai corupției; fiindcă de către cel ce este cineva învins, de acela este [și] dus în robie.
20 For if, after escaping from the pollutions of the world through a full knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, people are once more entangled in these pollutions and are overcome, their last state has become worse than their first.
Căci, scăpând de stricăciunile lumii prin cunoașterea Domnului și Salvatorului Isus Cristos, dacă sunt din nou încurcați în acestea și învinși, starea lor de pe urmă este mai rea decât cea dintâi.
21 For it would have been better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandments in which they were instructed.
Fiindcă ar fi fost mai bine pentru ei să nu fi cunoscut calea dreptății, decât, după ce au cunoscut-o, să se întoarcă de la sfânta poruncă ce le-a fost dată.
22 Their case is that described in the true proverb, "A dog returns to what he has vomited," and also in the other proverb, "The sow has washed itself and now goes back to roll in its filth."
Dar li s-a întâmplat conform cu adevăratul proverb: Câinele se întoarce la vărsătura lui, și scroafa scăldată, la tăvăleala ei în mocirlă.
