< 1 Corinthians 10 >

1 For I would have you remember, brethren, how our forefathers were all of them sheltered by the cloud, and all got safely through the Red Sea.
Koeinaakhqi, pakdamkhqi ing myi ak kaiawh tuicunli ami na kat ce a sim kaana nami awm ham amni ngaih khqi nyng.
2 All were baptized in the cloud and in the sea to be followers of Moses.
Cekkhqi boeih ing Mosi awh myi ing tuicunli awh baptisma hu uhy.
3 All ate the same spiritual food,
Myihla buh pynoet ce vel qip unawh,
4 and all drank the same spiritual drink; for they long drank the water that flowed from the spiritual rock that went with them--and that rock was the Christ.
myihla tui pynoet ce a na aw qip uhy; a mingmih a hu awh ak bat myihla lungnu awhkawng tui ce aw uhy, cawhkaw lungnu ce Khrih ni.
5 But with most of them God was not well pleased; for they were laid low in the Desert.
Cehlai thlang ak kuum ak khanawh Khawsa ak kaw am law adawngawh qamkoh khuiawh thi boeih uhy.
6 And in this they became a warning to us, to teach us not to be eager, as they were eager, in pursuit of what is evil.
A mingmih ing ami sai them che awh kawlung amni taaknaak ahamna ni toek hly kawi na awm law hy.
7 And you must not be worshippers of idols, as some of them were. For it is written, "The People sat down to eat and drink, and stood up to dance."
Thlang pynoet ing myiqawl ami bawk amyihna nangmih khqing koeh bawk law lawt uh; “Thlangkhqi ing awk a ai aham ngawi unawh laam aham dyi uhy,” tinawh qee hyt amyihna.
8 Nor may we be fornicators, like some of them who committed fornication and on a single day 23,000 of them fell dead.
Cekkhqi ak khuiawh thlang vang ing nupa thawlhnaak ami sai dawngawh khawnghi hypoet awh thlang thongkul thongthum ami thih amyihna, ningnih ing nupa thawlhnaak koeh sai u sih.
9 And do not let us test the Lord too far, as some of them tested Him and were destroyed by the serpents.
Thlangvang ing Bawipa ami noek ami dak dawngawh – khqui ing cuk khqi nawh ami thih boeih amyihna – ningnih ing Bawipa ve noek a dak aham am awm hy.
10 And do not be discontented, as some of them were, and they were destroyed by the Destroyer.
A mingmih anglakawhkaw thlangvang ing ami saibi a dawngawh – khan ceityih ing a thih sak khqi boeih amyihna, ningnih taw koeh saibi u sih.
11 All this kept happening to them with a figurative meaning; but it was put on record by way of admonition to us upon whom the ends of the Ages have come. (aiōn g165)
Ningmih ing ni toek aham vemyih khqi ve ana awm nawh a tym a pha lawh ning ngaih ni taaknaak aham qeena ak awm ni. (aiōn g165)
12 So then let him who thinks he is standing securely beware of falling.
Cedawngawh, ak cak cana dyi nyng, tinawh ak poek nang ing, am nang tluuknaak aham ngaihta lah!
13 No temptation has you in its power but such as is common to human nature; and God is faithful and will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. But, when the temptation comes, He will also provide the way of escape; so that you may be able to bear it.
Thlanghqing a venawh amak law khawi sykzoeknaak ce nangmih a venawh am law hy. Khawsa taw ypawm hy; anih ing am nang yh noeng sykzoeknaak ce nak khanawh am pha law sak kaw. Sykzoeknaak hu bai tik seiawm, sykzoeknaak ak kaiawh nang dyihnaak thai a hamna anih ing lam qoek a bah law kaw.
14 Therefore, my dear friends, avoid all connection with the worship of idols.
Cedawngawh, ka lungnaak ka pyikhqi, myiqawl bawknaak ce cen taak uh.
15 I speak as to men of sense: judge for yourselves of what I say.
Thlakcyikhqi venawh ni awi kak kqawn law hy; kak kqawn ve na mimah ing hqimhqa lah uh.
16 The cup of blessing, which we bless, does it not mean a joint-participation in the blood of Christ? The loaf of bread which we break, does it not mean a joint-participation in the body of Christ?
Zoseennaak boet ningnih ing ni zeelnaak ve Khrih a thi ni qupnaak pyi am nu? Phaihpi ning thek uh ve Khrih a pum ni qupnaak pyi am nu?
17 Since there is one loaf, we who are many are one body; we, all of us, share in that one loaf.
Ningnih thlang khawzah ve phaipi cunoet, pum pynoet na nik awm ni; ni cu boeih na phaipi cunoet doeng ni ni quum haih uh.
18 Look at the Israelites--the nation and their ritual. Are not those who eat the sacrifices joint-partakers in the altar?
Israel thlangkhqi ce poek lah uh bulnaak awhkaw buh ak aikhqi taw bawkthang am qup haih lawt unawh aw?
19 Do I mean that a thing sacrificed to an idol is what it claims to be, or that an idol is a real thing?
Cawhtaw kai ing myiqawl a venawh bulnaak awh ami pek qup pyi ham ka ti nawh nu? Am ni,
20 No, but that which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, not to God; and I would not have you have fellowship with one another through the demons.
lukih thlangkhqi ing bulnaak ami sai taw Khawsa venawh ami sai am nawh; qaai a venawh ni ami sai, nangmih ing qaai mi naming pha qu am ni ngaih pyi khqi nyng.
21 You cannot drink the Lord's cup and the cup of demons: you cannot be joint-partakers both in the table of the Lord and in the table of demons.
Bawipa a boet ingkaw qaai a boet am aw haih thai kawm uk ti; Bawipa ak caboei ingkaw qai ak caboei am veel haih thai bai kawm uk ti.
22 Or are we actually arousing the Lord to jealousy. Are we stronger than He is?
Bawipa ve tlaiseet sak ham cai uhyk ti my? Anih anglakawh ningnih nik tha awm khqoet nawh nu?
23 Everything is allowable, but not everything is profitable. Everything is allowable, but everything does not build others up.
Ik-oeih boeih sai ciimcaih hy, cehlai ik-oeih boeih sai am leek hy. Ik-oeih boeih sai ciimcaih hy, cehlai ik-oeih boeih sai ing thlang am tlaih vawng hy.
24 Let no one be for ever seeking his own good, but let each seek that of his fellow man.
Cedawngawh u awm amah a leeknaak hly doeng a sui kana thlang chang a leeknaak hly sui seh nyng.
25 Anything that is for sale in the meat market, eat, and ask no questions for conscience' sake;
Kawlung khuiawh doetnaak a taak qee kaana meh a mi zawih ce ai mai,
26 for the earth is the Lord's, and all that it contains.
ikawtih, khawmdek ingkaw ak khuiawh ak awm boeih ve Bawipa koe ni.
27 If an unbeliever gives you an invitation and you are disposed to accept it, eat whatever is put before you, and ask no questions for conscience' sake.
Amak cangnaak thlang ing buh ai na nik khy nawh ceh aham na ngaih awhtaw, kawlung khuiawh doetnaak a taak qee kaana na haiawh a toen law ce ai mai.
28 But if any one tells you, "This food has been offered in sacrifice;" abstain from eating it--out of respect for him who warned you, and, as before, for conscience' sake.
Cehlai u ingawm, “Vawhkaw buh a an ve bulnaak buh a an ni,” a ti awhtaw ak kqawn lawkung mi kawlung a caihnaak aham koeh ai voel,
29 But now I mean his conscience, not your own. "Why, on what ground," you may object, "is the question of my liberty of action to be decided by a conscience not my own?
30 If, so far as I am concerned, I partake with a grateful heart, why am I to be found fault with in regard to a thing for which I give thanks?"
Ymnaak ing buh veel nawh Khawsa venawh zeelnaak awi kak kqawn awhtaw, kaw tinawh nu coet ak kap na ka awm kaw?
31 Whether, then, you are eating or drinking, or whatever you are doing, let everything be done to the glory of God.
Cedawngawh na awk na ainaak ingkaw them na sainaak hoei awh, Khawsa a boeihmangnaak na sai lah.
32 Do not be causes of stumbling either to Jews or to Gentiles, nor to the Church of God.
Thlang ang bahnaak aham ik-oeih koeh sai law uh, Juda awm, Greek awm Khawsa ak thlangboel awm –
33 That is the way that I also seek in everything the approval of all men, not aiming at my own profit, but at that of the many, in the hope that they may be saved.
ik-oeih a soep a hoei awh thlang boeih ak kawngaih sai aham kak tha ka lawh lawt amyihna nangmih ing namik tha lo lawt lah uh. Kamah a leeknaak doeng ce am sui nyng saw hulna ami awm thainaak aham thlang khawzah a leeknaak ni ka sui hy.
