< Zechariah 8 >
1 Again the word of the LORD of hosts came [to me], saying,
Naʻe toe hoko foki kiate au ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻo pehē,
2 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I was jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I was jealous for her with great fury.
“ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; naʻaku fuaʻa koeʻuhi ko Saione ʻi he fuaʻa lahi, pea naʻaku fuaʻa koeʻuhi ko ia, pea u houhau lahi.”
3 Thus saith the LORD; I have returned to Zion, and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and Jerusalem shall be called a city of truth; and the mountain of the LORD of hosts the holy mountain.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova; “Kuo u foki mai ki Saione, pea te u nofo ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo Selūsalema: pea ʻe ui ʻa Selūsalema, ko e kolo ʻoku ʻi ai ʻae moʻoni; pea ko e moʻunga ʻo Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ko e moʻunga māʻoniʻoni.”
4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff in his hand for very age.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “ʻE toe nofo ʻi he ngaahi hala ʻo Selūsalema ʻae kakai mātuʻa mo e kau finemātuʻa, pea ʻe taki taha toʻo ha tokotoko ʻi hono nima koeʻuhi ko ʻenau motuʻa ʻaupito.
5 And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.
Pea ʻe fonu ʻae hala ʻoe kolo ʻi he tamaiki tangata, mo e tamaiki fefine, ʻoku fakavā ʻi hono ngaahi hala ʻo ia.”
6 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in these days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes? saith the LORD of hosts.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “Kapau kuo faingataʻa ʻeni ki he mata ʻoe toenga kakai ni, ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ko eni, pea ʻe faingataʻa ia foki ʻi hoku ʻao ʻoʻoku? ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau.
7 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Behold, I will save my people from the east country, and from the west country;
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “Vakai, te u fakamoʻui ʻa hoku kakai mei he fonua hahake, pea mei he fonua ʻi lulunga;
8 And I will bring them, and they shall dwell in the midst of Jerusalem: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in truth and in righteousness.
Pea te u ʻomi ʻakinautolu, pea te nau nofo ʻi he lotolotonga ʻo Selūsalema; pea ko hoku kakai ʻakinautolu, pea ko honau ʻOtua au, ʻi he moʻoni mo e māʻoniʻoni.”
9 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Let your hands be strong, ye that hear in these days these words by the mouth of the prophets, who [were] in the day [when] the foundation of the house of the LORD of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “Ke mālohi homou nima, ʻakimoutolu ʻoku fanongo ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ni, ki he ngaahi lea ni, mei he ngutu ʻoe kau palōfita, ʻaia naʻe ʻi ai ʻi he ʻaho ko ia naʻe tō ai ʻae tuʻunga ʻoe fale ʻo Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, koeʻuhi kae langa ʻae fale tapu.
10 For before these days there was no hire for man, nor any hire for beast; neither [was there any] peace to him that went out or came in because of the affliction: for I set all men every one against his neighbor.
He naʻe teʻeki ke hoko ʻae ngaahi ʻaho ko ia, naʻe ʻikai ha ngāue ʻoku fai ʻe ha tangata, pe ha ngāue ke fai ʻe ha manu; pea ko e meʻa ʻi he mamahi, naʻe ʻikai fiemālie ha taha naʻe ʻalu atu, pe hū mai; he naʻaku fakafehiʻa ʻae tangata taki taha kotoa pē ki hono kaungāʻapi.
11 But now I [will] not [be] to the residue of this people as in the former days, saith the LORD of hosts.
Ka ko eni,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “ʻE ʻikai te u hangē eni ko e ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa ange ki he toenga kakai.
12 For the seed [shall be] prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these [things].
Koeʻuhi ʻe monūʻia ʻae hako: ʻe tuku mai ʻe he vaine ʻa hono fua, pea ʻe ʻomi ʻe he kelekele ʻa hono tupu, pea ʻe foaki mei he langi ʻa hono hahau; pea te u pule ke maʻu ʻe he toenga kakai ni ʻae ngaahi meʻa ni kotoa pē.
13 And it shall come to pass, [that] as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, let your hands be strong.
Pea ʻe hoko ʻo pehē, hangē ko hoʻomou hoko ko e malaʻia, ʻi he lotolotonga ʻoe hiteni, ʻe fale ʻo Siuta, mo koe ʻe fale ʻo ʻIsileli; ʻe pehē pe ʻa ʻeku fakamoʻui ʻakimoutolu, pea te mou hoko ko e monūʻia: ʻoua naʻa manavahē, ka ʻe tuku ke mālohi homou nima.”
14 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; As I thought to punish you, when your fathers provoked me to wrath, saith the LORD of hosts, and I repented not;
He ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “Hangē naʻaku loto ke tautea ʻakimoutolu, ʻi he fakahouhauʻi au ʻe hoʻomou ngaahi tamai,” ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, “Pea naʻe ʻikai te u liliu mei ai:
15 So again have I thought in these days to do good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah: fear ye not.
ʻOku pehē foki, kuo u loto ke fai lelei ʻi he ngaahi ʻaho ni, ki Selūsalema, pea mo e fale ʻo Siuta: ʻoua naʻa mou manavahē.”
16 These [are] the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbor; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:
“Ko eni ʻae ngaahi meʻa te mou fai; Mou taki taha lea ʻaki ʻae moʻoni ki homou kaungāʻapi; fai ʻae fakamaau ʻi he moʻoni, mo e melino ʻi homou ngaahi matapā.
17 And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no false oath: for all these [are things] that I hate, saith the LORD.
Pea ʻoua naʻa femahalokoviʻaki ʻi homou loto ki homou kaungāʻapi, pea ʻoua naʻa manako ki he fuakava loi; he ʻoku pehē ʻe Sihova, ko e ngaahi meʻa ia ʻoku ou fehiʻa ki ai.”
18 And the word of the LORD of hosts came to me, saying,
Pea naʻe hoko mai ʻae folofola ʻa Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, ʻo pehē,
19 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; The fast of the fourth [month], and the fast of the fifth, and the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
“ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; Ko e ʻaukai ʻi hono fā ʻoe māhina, mo e ʻaukai ʻi hono nima, mo e ʻaukai ʻi hono fitu, mo e ʻaukai ʻi hono hongofulu, ʻe hoko ia ko e fiefia, mo e nekeneka, mo e ngaahi kātoanga fakafiefia ki he fale ʻo Siuta; ko ia mou ʻofa ki he moʻoni, mo e melino.”
20 Thus saith the LORD of hosts: [It shall] yet [come to pass], that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities:
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “ʻE toe haʻu ha kakai mo kinautolu ʻoku nofo ʻi he ngaahi kolo kehekehe:
21 And the inhabitants of one [city] shall go to another, saying, Let us go speedily to pray before the LORD, and to seek the LORD of hosts: I will go also.
Pea ʻe ʻalu ʻae kakai ʻoe kolo ʻe taha ki he kolo ʻe taha, mo nau fepehēʻaki, ‘Ke tau ʻalu fakatoʻotoʻo ke lotu kia Sihova, pea ke kumi kia Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau: te u ʻalu foki mo au.’
22 And many people and strong nations shall come to seek the LORD of hosts in Jerusalem, and to pray before the LORD.
ʻIo, ʻe haʻu ʻae kakai kehekehe mo e ngaahi puleʻanga mālohi ke kumi kia Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau, pea ke lotu hū ʻi he ʻao ʻo Sihova ʻi Selūsalema.”
23 Thus saith the LORD of hosts: In those days [it shall come to pass], that ten men out of all languages of the nations, shall take hold, shall even take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard [that] God [is] with you.
ʻOku pehē ʻe Sihova ʻoe ngaahi kautau; “ʻI he ngaahi ʻaho ko ia ʻe puke atu ʻe he toko hongofulu mei he ngaahi lea kehekehe ʻoe ngaahi puleʻanga, ʻio, te nau puke ʻae kapa ʻoe kofu ʻoe Siu mo nau pehē, Te tau ʻo mo koe: he kuo mau fanongo ʻoku ʻiate kimoutolu ʻae ʻOtua.”
