Zechariah 2

1 I lifted up my eyes again, and looked, and behold a man with a measuring line in his hand.

Levanté los ojos y vi, y he aquí, un hombre con un cordel de medir en la mano.

2 Then said I, Whither goest thou? And he said to me, To measure Jerusalem, to see what [is] its breadth, and what [is] its length.

Entonces pregunté: “¿Adónde vas?” Me dijo: “Para medir Jerusalén, para ver cuál es su anchura y cuál su longitud”.

3 And behold, the angel that talked with me went forth, and another angel went out to meet him,

He aquí que el ángel que hablaba conmigo salió, y otro ángel salió a su encuentro,

4 And said to him, Run, speak to this young man, saying, Jerusalem shall be inhabited [as] towns without walls for the multitude of men and cattle in it.

y le dijo: “Corre, habla a este joven, diciendo: ‘Jerusalén será habitada como aldeas sin murallas, a causa de la multitud de hombres y de ganado que hay en ella.

5 For I, saith the LORD, will be to her a wall of fire on every side, and will be the glory in the midst of her.

Porque yo — dice Yahvé — seré para ella un muro de fuego alrededor, y seré la gloria en medio de ella.

6 Ho, ho, [come forth], and flee from the land of the north, saith the LORD: for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the heaven, saith the LORD.

¡Ven! ¡Venid! Huye de la tierra del norte”, dice Yahvé; “porque te he extendido como los cuatro vientos del cielo”, dice Yahvé.

7 Deliver thyself, O Zion, that dwellest [with] the daughter of Babylon.

“¡Ven, Sión! Escapa, tú que habitas con la hija de Babilonia’.

8 For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me to the nations which wasted you: for he that toucheth you, toucheth the apple of his eye.

Porque Yahvé de los Ejércitos dice: ‘Por honor me ha enviado a las naciones que te saquearon; porque el que te toca toca la niña de sus ojos.

9 For behold, I will shake my hand upon them, and they shall be a spoil to their servants: and ye shall know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me.

Porque he aquí que yo sacudiré mi mano sobre ellas, y serán un botín para los que las sirvieron; y sabrás que el Señor de los Ejércitos me ha enviado.

10 Sing, and rejoice, O daughter of Zion: for lo, I come, and I will dwell in the midst of thee, saith the LORD.

¡Canta y alégrate, hija de Sión! Porque he aquí que vengo y habitaré en ti’, dice Yahvé.

11 And many nations shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and shall be my people: and I will dwell in the midst of thee, and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me to thee.

Muchas naciones se unirán a Yahvé en aquel día, y serán mi pueblo; y yo habitaré en medio de vosotros, y sabréis que Yahvé de los Ejércitos me ha enviado a vosotros.

12 And the LORD shall inherit Judah his portion in the holy land, and shall choose Jerusalem again.

Yahvé heredará a Judá como su porción en la tierra santa, y volverá a elegir a Jerusalén.

13 Be silent, O all flesh, before the LORD: for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

¡Silencio, toda carne, ante Yahvé, porque se ha levantado de su santa morada!”
