Ruth 3

1 Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

Naomi, sua sogra lhe disse: “Minha filha, não devo procurar descanso para você, para que esteja bem com você?

2 And now [is] not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to-night in the threshing-floor.

Agora Boaz não é nosso parente, com cujas donzelas você era? Eis que hoje à noite ele estará cevando cevada na eira.

3 Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and go down to the floor: [but] make not thyself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.

Portanto, lave-se, unta-se, vista-se e vá até a eira; mas não se dê a conhecer ao homem até que ele tenha terminado de comer e beber.

4 And it shall be when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

Será, quando ele se deitar, que você deve anotar o lugar onde ele está deitado. Então você deve entrar, descobrir os pés dele e deitar-se. Então, ele lhe dirá o que fazer”.

5 And she said to her, All that thou sayest to me I will do.

Ela lhe disse: “Tudo o que você disser, eu farei”.

6 And she went down to the floor, and did according to all that her mother-in-law bade her.

Ela foi até a eira e fez tudo o que sua sogra lhe disse.

7 And when Boaz had eaten and drank, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid herself down.

Quando Boaz tinha comido e bebido, e seu coração estava alegre, foi deitar-se no final do monte de grãos. Ela veio suavemente, descobriu seus pés, e deitou-se.

8 And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and behold, a woman lay at his feet.

À meia-noite, o homem se assustou e se virou; e eis que uma mulher deitou-se a seus pés.

9 And he said, Who [art] thou? And she answered, I [am] Ruth thy handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thy handmaid; for thou [art] a near kinsman.

Ele disse: “Quem é você?”. Ela respondeu: “Eu sou Ruth, sua serva”. Portanto, espalhe o canto de sua roupa sobre seu servo; pois você é um parente próximo”.

10 And he said, Blessed [be] thou of the LORD, my daughter: [for] thou hast shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou didst not follow young men, whether poor or rich.

Ele disse: “Você é abençoada por Yahweh, minha filha. Você demonstrou mais bondade no final do que no início, porque não seguiu os jovens, sejam pobres ou ricos.

11 And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou [art] a virtuous woman.

Agora, minha filha, não tenha medo. Farei a você tudo o que você diz; pois toda a cidade do meu povo sabe que você é uma mulher digna.

12 And now it is true that I [am thy] near kinsman: yet there is a kinsman nearer than I.

Agora é verdade que eu sou um parente próximo. No entanto, há um parente mais próximo do que eu.

13 Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, [that] if he will perform to thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, [as] the LORD liveth: lie down until the morning.

Fique esta noite, e pela manhã, se ele fizer para você a parte de um parente, bom. Deixe-o fazer o dever do parente. Mas se ele não fizer o dever de um parente para você, então eu farei o dever de um parente para você, como Yahweh vive. Deite-se até a manhã”.

14 And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came to the floor.

Ela ficou deitada a seus pés até a manhã, depois se levantou antes que um pudesse discernir o outro. Pois ele disse: “Que não se saiba que a mulher veio à eira”.

15 Also he said, Bring the vail that [thou hast] upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six [measures] of barley, and laid [it] on her: and she went into the city.

Ele disse: “Traga o manto que está sobre você, e segure-o”. Ela o segurou; e ele mediu seis medidas de cevada, e o colocou sobre ela; então ele foi para a cidade.

16 And when she came to her mother-in-law, she said, Who [art] thou, my daughter? And she told her all that the man had done to her.

Quando chegou à sua sogra, ela disse: “Como foi, minha filha”? Ela lhe contou tudo o que o homem havia feito por ela.

17 And she said, These six [measures] of barley he gave me; for he said to me, Go not empty to thy mother-in-law.

Ela disse: “Ele me deu estas seis medidas de cevada; pois ele disse: 'Não vá vazio para sua sogra'”.

18 Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou knowest how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he hath finished the thing this day.

Então ela disse: “Espere, minha filha, até que você saiba o que vai acontecer; pois o homem não descansará até que tenha resolvido isso hoje”.
