Romans 7
1 Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law) that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
ਹੇ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਰੁʼਗਣ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਵਿਦਃ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮਮੇਦੰ ਨਿਵੇਦਨੰ| ਵਿਧਿਃ ਕੇਵਲੰ ਯਾਵੱਜੀਵੰ ਮਾਨਵੋਪਰ੍ੱਯਧਿਪਤਿਤ੍ਵੰ ਕਰੋਤੀਤਿ ਯੂਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਨ ਜਾਨੀਥ?
2 For the woman who hath a husband, is bound by the law to [her] husband so long as he liveth; but if the husband is dead, she is loosed from the law of [her] husband.
ਯਾਵਤ੍ਕਾਲੰ ਪਤਿ ਰ੍ਜੀਵਤਿ ਤਾਵਤ੍ਕਾਲਮ੍ ਊਢਾ ਭਾਰ੍ੱਯਾ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਯਾ ਤਸ੍ਮਿਨ੍ ਬੱਧਾ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਦਿ ਪਤਿ ਰ੍ਮ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸਾ ਨਾਰੀ ਪਤ੍ਯੁ ਰ੍ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਤੋ ਮੁਚ੍ਯਤੇ|
3 So then, if while [her] husband liveth, she is married to another man, she shall be called an adulteress: but if her husband is dead, she is free from that law; so that she is no adulteress, though she be married to another man.
ਏਤਤ੍ਕਾਰਣਾਤ੍ ਪਤ੍ਯੁਰ੍ਜੀਵਨਕਾਲੇ ਨਾਰੀ ਯਦ੍ਯਨ੍ਯੰ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ੰ ਵਿਵਹਤਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸਾ ਵ੍ਯਭਿਚਾਰਿਣੀ ਭਵਤਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਦਿ ਸ ਪਤਿ ਰ੍ਮ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਸਾ ਤਸ੍ਯਾ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾ ਮੁਕ੍ਤਾ ਸਤੀ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ਾਨ੍ਤਰੇਣ ਵ੍ਯੂਢਾਪਿ ਵ੍ਯਭਿਚਾਰਿਣੀ ਨ ਭਵਤਿ|
4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, [even] to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit to God.
ਹੇ ਮਮ ਭ੍ਰਾਤ੍ਰੁʼਗਣ, ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਨਿਮਿੱਤੰ ਯਦਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਫਲੰ ਜਾਯਤੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਸ਼੍ਮਸ਼ਾਨਾਦ੍ ਉੱਥਾਪਿਤੇਨ ਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ੇਣ ਸਹ ਯੁਸ਼਼੍ਮਾਕੰ ਵਿਵਾਹੋ ਯਦ੍ ਭਵੇਤ੍ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟਸ੍ਯ ਸ਼ਰੀਰੇਣ ਯੂਯੰ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤਵਨ੍ਤਃ|
5 For when we were in the flesh, the motions of sins, which were by the law, did work in our members to bring forth fruit to death:
ਯਤੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਸ਼ਾਰੀਰਿਕਾਚਰਣਸਮਯੇ ਮਰਣਨਿਮਿੱਤੰ ਫਲਮ੍ ਉਤ੍ਪਾਦਯਿਤੁੰ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਯਾ ਦੂਸ਼਼ਿਤਃ ਪਾਪਾਭਿਲਾਸ਼਼ੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਅਙ੍ਗੇਸ਼਼ੁ ਜੀਵਨ੍ ਆਸੀਤ੍|
6 But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead by which we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not [in] the oldness of the letter.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਦਾ ਯਸ੍ਯਾ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾ ਵਸ਼ੇ ਆਸ੍ਮਹਿ ਸਾਮ੍ਪ੍ਰਤੰ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤਤ੍ਵਾਦ੍ ਵਯੰ ਤਸ੍ਯਾ ਅਧੀਨਤ੍ਵਾਤ੍ ਮੁਕ੍ਤਾ ਇਤਿ ਹੇਤੋਰੀਸ਼੍ਵਰੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਾਭਿਃ ਪੁਰਾਤਨਲਿਖਿਤਾਨੁਸਾਰਾਤ੍ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਤਵ੍ਯਃ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਨਵੀਨਸ੍ਵਭਾਵੇਨੈਵ ਸੇਵਿਤਵ੍ਯਃ
7 What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? By no means. No, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਵਯੰ ਕਿੰ ਬ੍ਰੂਮਃ? ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾ ਕਿੰ ਪਾਪਜਨਿਕਾ ਭਵਤਿ? ਨੇੱਥੰ ਭਵਤੁ| ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਮ੍ ਅਵਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨਾਯਾਂ ਪਾਪੰ ਕਿਮ੍ ਇਤ੍ਯਹੰ ਨਾਵੇਦੰ; ਕਿਞ੍ਚ ਲੋਭੰ ਮਾ ਕਾਰ੍ਸ਼਼ੀਰਿਤਿ ਚੇਦ੍ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਗ੍ਰਨ੍ਥੇ ਲਿਖਿਤੰ ਨਾਭਵਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤ੍ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਲੋਭਃ ਕਿਮ੍ਭੂਤਸ੍ਤਦਹੰ ਨਾਜ੍ਞਾਸ੍ਯੰ|
8 But sin, taking occasion by the commandment, wrought in me all manner of concupiscence. For without the law sin [was] dead.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਯਾ ਪਾਪੰ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯਾਸ੍ਮਾਕਮ੍ ਅਨ੍ਤਃ ਸਰ੍ੱਵਵਿਧੰ ਕੁਤ੍ਸਿਤਾਭਿਲਾਸ਼਼ਮ੍ ਅਜਨਯਤ੍; ਯਤੋ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾਮ੍ ਅਵਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨਾਯਾਂ ਪਾਪੰ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤੰ|
9 For I was alive without the law once: but when the commandment came, sin revived, and I died.
ਅਪਰੰ ਪੂਰ੍ੱਵੰ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾਮ੍ ਅਵਿਦ੍ਯਮਾਨਾਯਾਮ੍ ਅਹਮ੍ ਅਜੀਵੰ ਤਤਃ ਪਰਮ੍ ਆਜ੍ਞਾਯਾਮ੍ ਉਪਸ੍ਥਿਤਾਯਾਮ੍ ਪਾਪਮ੍ ਅਜੀਵਤ੍ ਤਦਾਹਮ੍ ਅਮ੍ਰਿਯੇ|
10 And the commandment which [was ordained] to life, I found [to be] to death.
ਇੱਥੰ ਸਤਿ ਜੀਵਨਨਿਮਿੱਤਾ ਯਾਜ੍ਞਾ ਸਾ ਮਮ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯੁਜਨਿਕਾਭਵਤ੍|
11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew [me].
ਯਤਃ ਪਾਪੰ ਛਿਦ੍ਰੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪ੍ਯ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਿਤਾਦੇਸ਼ੇਨ ਮਾਂ ਵਞ੍ਚਯਿਤ੍ਵਾ ਤੇਨ ਮਾਮ੍ ਅਹਨ੍|
12 Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
ਅਤਏਵ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰਾ, ਆਦੇਸ਼ਸ਼੍ਚ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰੋ ਨ੍ਯਾੱਯੋ ਹਿਤਕਾਰੀ ਚ ਭਵਤਿ|
13 Was then that which is good made death to me? By no means. But sin, that it might appear sin, working death in me by that which is good; that sin by the commandment might become exceeding sinful.
ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਯਤ੍ ਸ੍ਵਯੰ ਹਿਤਕ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ ਤਤ੍ ਕਿੰ ਮਮ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤ੍ਯੁਜਨਕਮ੍ ਅਭਵਤ੍? ਨੇੱਥੰ ਭਵਤੁ; ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਪਾਪੰ ਯਤ੍ ਪਾਤਕਮਿਵ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤੇ ਤਥਾ ਨਿਦੇਸ਼ੇਨ ਪਾਪੰ ਯਦਤੀਵ ਪਾਤਕਮਿਵ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ਤੇ ਤਦਰ੍ਥੰ ਹਿਤੋਪਾਯੇਨ ਮਮ ਮਰਣਮ੍ ਅਜਨਯਤ੍|
14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.
ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਤ੍ਮਬੋਧਿਕੇਤਿ ਵਯੰ ਜਾਨੀਮਃ ਕਿਨ੍ਤ੍ਵਹੰ ਸ਼ਾਰੀਰਤਾਚਾਰੀ ਪਾਪਸ੍ਯ ਕ੍ਰੀਤਕਿਙ੍ਕਰੋ ਵਿਦ੍ਯੇ|
15 For that which I do, I allow not: for what I would, that I do not; but what I hate, that I do.
ਯਤੋ ਯਤ੍ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਕਰੋਮਿ ਤਤ੍ ਮਮ ਮਨੋ(ਅ)ਭਿਮਤੰ ਨਹਿ; ਅਪਰੰ ਯਨ੍ ਮਮ ਮਨੋ(ਅ)ਭਿਮਤੰ ਤੰਨ ਕਰੋਮਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਦ੍ ਰੁʼਤੀਯੇ ਤਤ੍ ਕਰੋਮਿ|
16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent to the law that [it is] good.
ਤਥਾਤ੍ਵੇ ਯਨ੍ ਮਮਾਨਭਿਮਤੰ ਤਦ੍ ਯਦਿ ਕਰੋਮਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾ ਸੂੱਤਮੇਤਿ ਸ੍ਵੀਕਰੋਮਿ|
17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
ਅਤਏਵ ਸਮ੍ਪ੍ਰਤਿ ਤਤ੍ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਮਯਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤ ਇਤਿ ਨਹਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਮਮ ਸ਼ਰੀਰਸ੍ਥੇਨ ਪਾਪੇਨੈਵ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ|
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh, ) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but [how] to perform that which is good, I find not.
ਯਤੋ ਮਯਿ, ਅਰ੍ਥਤੋ ਮਮ ਸ਼ਰੀਰੇ, ਕਿਮਪ੍ਯੁੱਤਮੰ ਨ ਵਸਤਿ, ਏਤਦ੍ ਅਹੰ ਜਾਨਾਮਿ; ਮਮੇੱਛੁਕਤਾਯਾਂ ਤਿਸ਼਼੍ਠਨ੍ਤ੍ਯਾਮਪ੍ਯਹਮ੍ ਉੱਤਮਕਰ੍ੰਮਸਾਧਨੇ ਸਮਰ੍ਥੋ ਨ ਭਵਾਮਿ|
19 For the good that I would, I do not; but the evil which I would not, that I do.
ਯਤੋ ਯਾਮੁੱਤਮਾਂ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਾਂ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁਮਹੰ ਵਾਞ੍ਛਾਮਿ ਤਾਂ ਨ ਕਰੋਮਿ ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਯਤ੍ ਕੁਤ੍ਸਿਤੰ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁਮ੍ ਅਨਿੱਛੁਕੋ(ਅ)ਸ੍ਮਿ ਤਦੇਵ ਕਰੋਮਿ|
20 Now if I do that which I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
ਅਤਏਵ ਯਦ੍ਯਤ੍ ਕਰ੍ੰਮ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਮਮੇੱਛਾ ਨ ਭਵਤਿ ਤਦ੍ ਯਦਿ ਕਰੋਮਿ ਤਰ੍ਹਿ ਤਤ੍ ਮਯਾ ਨ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ, ਮਮਾਨ੍ਤਰ੍ਵਰ੍ੱਤਿਨਾ ਪਾਪੇਨੈਵ ਕ੍ਰਿਯਤੇ|
21 I find then a law, that when I would do good, evil is present with me.
ਭਦ੍ਰੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁਮ੍ ਇੱਛੁਕੰ ਮਾਂ ਯੋ (ਅ)ਭਦ੍ਰੰ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਪ੍ਰਵਰ੍ੱਤਯਤਿ ਤਾਦ੍ਰੁʼਸ਼ੰ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਵਮੇਕੰ ਮਯਿ ਪਸ਼੍ਯਾਮਿ|
22 For I delight in the law of God, after the inward man:
ਅਹਮ੍ ਆਨ੍ਤਰਿਕਪੁਰੁਸ਼਼ੇਣੇਸ਼੍ਵਰਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾਂ ਸਨ੍ਤੁਸ਼਼੍ਟ ਆਸੇ;
23 But I see another law in my members warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
ਕਿਨ੍ਤੁ ਤਦ੍ਵਿਪਰੀਤੰ ਯੁਧ੍ਯਨ੍ਤੰ ਤਦਨ੍ਯਮੇਕੰ ਸ੍ਵਭਾਵੰ ਮਦੀਯਾਙ੍ਗਸ੍ਥਿਤੰ ਪ੍ਰਪਸ਼੍ਯਾਮਿ, ਸ ਮਦੀਯਾਙ੍ਗਸ੍ਥਿਤਪਾਪਸ੍ਵਭਾਵਸ੍ਯਾਯੱਤੰ ਮਾਂ ਕਰ੍ੱਤੁੰ ਚੇਸ਼਼੍ਟਤੇ|
24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
ਹਾ ਹਾ ਯੋ(ਅ)ਹੰ ਦੁਰ੍ਭਾਗ੍ਯੋ ਮਨੁਜਸ੍ਤੰ ਮਾਮ੍ ਏਤਸ੍ਮਾਨ੍ ਮ੍ਰੁʼਤਾੱਛਰੀਰਾਤ੍ ਕੋ ਨਿਸ੍ਤਾਰਯਿਸ਼਼੍ਯਤਿ?
25 I thank God, through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin.
ਅਸ੍ਮਾਕੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੁਣਾ ਯੀਸ਼ੁਖ੍ਰੀਸ਼਼੍ਟੇਨ ਨਿਸ੍ਤਾਰਯਿਤਾਰਮ੍ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰੰ ਧਨ੍ਯੰ ਵਦਾਮਿ| ਅਤਏਵ ਸ਼ਰੀਰੇਣ ਪਾਪਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾ ਮਨਸਾ ਤੁ ਈਸ਼੍ਵਰਵ੍ਯਵਸ੍ਥਾਯਾਃ ਸੇਵਨੰ ਕਰੋਮਿ|
