Psalms 97

1 The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad.

خداوند سلطنت می‌کند، پس ای ساکنان زمین شادی کنید و ای جزیره‌های دور دست خوشحال باشید.

2 Clouds and darkness surround him: righteousness and judgment [are] the habitation of his throne.

ابرها و تاریکی، اطراف خداوند را گرفته‌اند. سلطنتش بر عدل و انصاف استوار است.

3 A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.

آتش، پیشاپیش خداوند حرکت می‌کند و دشمنان او را می‌سوزاند.

4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

برق‌هایش دنیا را روشن می‌سازد. زمین این را می‌بیند و می‌لرزد.

5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the LORD of the whole earth.

کوهها از هیبت حضور خداوند تمام جهان، مانند موم ذوب می‌شوند.

6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

آسمانها عدالت او را بیان می‌کنند و همهٔ قومها شکوه و جلال وی را می‌بینند.

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols; worship him, all [ye] gods.

همهٔ بت‌پرستان که به بتهای خود فخر می‌کنند، شرمسار خواهند شد. ای همهٔ خدایان، در مقابل خداوند به زانو بیفتید و او را بپرستید!

8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD.

ای خداوند، شهر اورشلیم و همهٔ مردم یهودا به سبب سلطنت عادلانهٔ تو خوشحال هستند.

9 For thou, LORD, [art] high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.

زیرا تو ای خداوند، بر تمام دنیا متعال و از همهٔ خدایان برتر هستی.

10 Ye that love the LORD, hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.

ای دوستداران خداوند، از بدی متنفر باشید! او عزیزان خود را حفظ می‌کند و ایشان را از دست شریران می‌رهاند.

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

نور بر نیکان می‌تابد و شادی بر پاکدلان.

12 Rejoice in the LORD, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

ای عادلان، به سبب آنچه که خداوند انجام داده است شادی کنید و نام قدوس او را بستایید!
