Psalms 96

1 O sing to the LORD a new song: sing to the LORD, all the earth.

Quand le temple fut rebâti après la captivité, cantique de David. Chantez au Seigneur un cantique nouveau; que toute la terre chante au Seigneur!

2 Sing to the LORD, bless his name; show forth his salvation from day to day.

Chantez au Seigneur; bénissez son nom; publiez avec joie son salut de jour en jour.

3 Declare his glory among the heathen, his wonders among all people.

Publiez aux Gentils sa gloire, et ses merveilles à tous les peuples,

4 For the LORD [is] great, and greatly to be praised: he [is] to be feared above all gods.

Car le Seigneur est grand et digne de louanges infinies; il est plus terrible que tous les dieux.

5 For all the gods of the nations [are] idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

Car tous les dieux des Gentils sont des démons; mais le Seigneur a créé les cieux.

6 Honor and majesty [are] before him: strength and beauty [are] in his sanctuary.

Louanges et beauté sont en sa présence; la sainteté et la majesté sont en son sanctuaire.

7 Give to the LORD, O ye kindreds of the people, give to the LORD glory and strength.

Tribus des Gentils, rendez au Seigneur, rendez à Dieu gloire et honneur.

8 Give to the LORD the glory [due to] his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts.

Rendez gloire au Seigneur et à son nom; prenez des victimes et entrez dans ses parvis.

9 O worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.

Adorez le Seigneur en son temple saint, et que devant sa face tremble toute la terre.

10 Say among the heathen [that] the LORD reigneth: the world also shall be established that it shall not be moved: he will judge the people righteously.

Dites aux Gentils: Le Seigneur règne, car il a affermi le globe de la terre, et il ne sera plus ébranlé; il jugera les peuples avec droiture.

11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fullness of it.

Que les cieux se réjouissent et que la terre tressaille d'allégresse; que la mer en sa plénitude soit émue.

12 Let the field be joyful, and all that [is] in it: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the LORD:

Les champs et tout ce qu'ils renferment se réjouiront; alors tressailliront les arbres de la forêt

13 For he cometh, for he cometh to judge the earth: he will judge the world with righteousness, and the people with his truth.

Devant la face du Seigneur; car il vient, car il vient juger la terre. Il jugera le monde selon sa justice, et les peuples selon sa vérité.
