Psalms 94
1 O LORD God, to whom vengeance belongeth; O God, to whom vengeance belongeth, show thyself.
Yahwe, Ee Mungu ulipaye kisasi, Mungu ulipaye kisasi, utuangazie sisi.
2 Lift up thyself, thou judge of the earth: render a reward to the proud.
Inuka, muhukumu wa nchi, uwape wenye majivuno kile wanachosahili.
3 LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked triumph?
Mpaka lini waovu, Yahwe, mpaka lini waovu watafurahia?
4 [How long] shall they utter [and] speak hard things? [and] all the workers of iniquity boast themselves?
Wanamwaga maneno yao ya kiburi; wote watendao uovu wanajivuna.
5 They break in pieces thy people, O LORD, and afflict thy heritage.
Wanawaangamiza watu wako, Yahwe; wanalitesa taifa ambao ni milki yako.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
Wanamuua mjane na mgeni aishiye nchini mwao, na wanamuua yatima.
7 Yet they say, The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob regard [it].
Nao husema, “Yahwe hawezi kuona, Mungu wa Yakobo hayagundui haya.”
8 Understand, ye brutish among the people: and [ye] fools, when will ye be wise?
Tambueni, ninyi watu wajinga! Enyi wapumbavu, mtajifunza lini?
9 He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?
Yeye aliye liumba sikio, hasikii? Yeye aliye litengeneza jicho, haoni?
10 He that chastiseth the heathen, shall he not correct? he that teacheth man knowledge, [shall he not know]?
Yeye awaadhibuye mataifa, hayuko sahihi? Yeye ndiye ampaye maarifa mwanadamu.
11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they [are] vanity.
Yahwe anayajua mawazo ya wanadamu, kuwa ni mvuke.
12 Blessed [is] the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
Amebarikiwa yule ambaye umuongozaye, Yahwe, yule ambaye wewe humfundisha kutoka katika sheria yako.
13 That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Wewe humpa pumziko wakati wa shida mpaka shimo litakapokuwa limechimbwa kwa ajili ya waovu.
14 For the LORD will not cast off his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
Maana Yahwe hatawaacha watu wake wala kutelekeza warithi wake.
15 But judgment shall return to righteousness: and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
Kwa kuwa tena hukumu itakuwa ya haki; na wote walio wanyoofu wa moyo wataifuata.
16 Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? [or] who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
Ni nani atainuka kunitetea dhidi ya watendao uovu? Ni nani atasimama dhidi ya waovu kwa ajili yangu?
17 Unless the LORD [had been] my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
Kama Yahwe asingelikuwa msaada wangu, haraka ningekuwa nimelala mahali pa ukimya.
18 When I said, My foot slippeth; thy mercy, O LORD, held me up.
Niliposema, mguu wangu unateleza,” Uaminifu wa agano lako, Yahwe, uliniinua.
19 In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul.
Wasiwasi uwapo mwingi ndani yangu, faraja yako hunifurahisha.
20 Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
Kiti cha uharibifu chaweza kushirikiana nawe, kitungacho madhara kwa njia ya sheria?
21 They assemble themselves against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
Wao kwa pamoja hupanga njama kuwaua wenye haki na kuwahukumu adhabu ya kifo wenye haki.
22 But the LORD is my defense; and my God [is] the rock of my refuge.
Lakini Yahwe amekuwa mnara wangu mrefu, na Mungu wangu amekuwa mwamba wa kimbilio langu.
23 And he will bring upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness; [yes], the LORD our God will cut them off.
Yeye atawarudishia uovu wao wenyewe na atawaangamiza katika uovu wao wenyewe. Yahwe Mungu wetu atawaangamiza.
