Psalms 93

1 The LORD reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the LORD is clothed with strength, [with which] he hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

Jahwe herrscht nun als König, er hat sich mit Hoheit umkleidet, / Jahwe hat sich umkleidet, mit Macht sich gegürtet. / So steht nun der Erdkreis fest und wanket nicht.

2 Thy throne [is] established of old: thou [art] from everlasting.

Fest steht dein Thron von alters her, / Seit Ewigkeit bist du!

3 The floods have lifted up, O LORD, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift their waves.

Zwar haben Ströme, Jahwe, erhoben, / Ströme haben erhoben ihr Brausen; / Auch ferner noch werden Ströme ihr Tosen erheben:

4 The LORD on high [is] mightier than the noise of many waters, [yes], [than] the mighty waves of the sea.

Doch größer als vieler mächtiger Wasser Gebraus, / Als des Meeres brandende Wogen / Ist Jahwe droben in Himmelshöhn!

5 Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thy house, O LORD, for ever.

Was du verordnet, ist unverbrüchlich. / Deinem Hause ziemt Heiligkeit, / Jahwe, für ewige Zeiten.
