Psalms 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Zaupajoč v zavetji Najvišjega, v senci Vsemogočnega neprestano prenočujoč
2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Pravim: V Gospodu je pribežališče moje in grad moj; Bog moj je, kateremu zaupam.
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.
Ker on te bode rešil iz zanke tičarjeve, iz kuge pogubne.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.
S perotjo svojo te bode branil, ko bodeš pribežal pod peroti njegove; ščit in bran je zvestoba njegova.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;
Ne boj se nočnega strahú, pušice, ki leta podnevi;
6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noon-day.
Pogube, ki lazi v temi, ne kuge, ki razsaja o poludné.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.
Pade jih na eni strani tvoji tisoč, in desetkrat tisoč na desni tvoji, k tebi ne pride.
8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Samo z očmi Svojimi bodeš pogledal in videl bodeš grešnikov povračilo.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD [who is] my refuge, [even] the Most High, thy habitation;
Ko bodeš ti Gospoda, Boga pribežališča mojega, Najvišjega postavil za prebivališče svoje,
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
Ne bode priložnosti, da te zadene húdo, in šiba se ne približa tvojemu šatoru.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Ker angelom svojim bode zapovedal zate, da te hranijo po vseh potih tvojih;
12 They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Držé te z obema rokama, da ne zadeneš z nogo svojo ob kamen.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Po divjem levu bodeš hodil in po kači, teptal bodeš leva mladiča in zmaja.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
"Ker je proti meni nagnen v ljubezni (pravi Bog), zato ga bodem otél; na višavo ga bodem postavil, ker pozna, ime moje.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
Kakor hitro me zakliče, uslišim ga; na strani mu bodem v stiski; otel ga bodem in počastil.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
Nasitil ga bodem z dolgostjo lét, storil bodem, da uživa blaginjo mojo."
