Psalms 91
1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Celui qui habite dans le lieu secret du Très-Haut reposeront à l'ombre du Tout-Puissant.
2 I will say of the LORD, [He is] my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Je dirai de Yahvé: « Il est mon refuge et ma forteresse; mon Dieu, en qui j'ai confiance. »
3 Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, [and] from the noisome pestilence.
Car il vous délivrera du piège de l'oiseleur, et de la peste mortelle.
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth [shall be thy] shield and buckler.
Il te couvrira de ses plumes. C'est sous ses ailes que tu trouveras refuge. Sa fidélité est votre bouclier et votre rempart.
5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; [nor] for the arrow [that] flieth by day;
Tu ne craindras pas la terreur de la nuit, ni de la flèche qui vole le jour,
6 [Nor] for the pestilence [that] walketh in darkness; [nor] for the destruction [that] wasteth at noon-day.
ni de la peste qui marche dans les ténèbres, ni de la destruction qui se produit à midi.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee.
Mille personnes peuvent tomber à tes côtés, et dix mille à ta droite; mais il ne s'approchera pas de vous.
8 Only with thy eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Vous ne regarderez qu'avec vos yeux, et voir la rétribution des méchants.
9 Because thou hast made the LORD [who is] my refuge, [even] the Most High, thy habitation;
Parce que tu as fait de Yahvé ton refuge, et le Très-Haut ta demeure,
10 There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
aucun malheur ne t'arrivera, aucune plaie ne s'approchera de ta demeure.
11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Car il mettra ses anges à votre service, pour te garder dans toutes tes voies.
12 They shall bear thee up in [their] hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Ils te porteront dans leurs mains, afin de ne pas heurter votre pied contre une pierre.
13 Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Tu marcheras sur le lion et le cobra. Vous foulerez aux pieds le lionceau et le serpent.
14 Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
« Parce qu'il s'est attaché à moi, je le délivrerai. Je le placerai en haut, parce qu'il a connu mon nom.
15 He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I [will be] with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.
Il m'invoquera, et je lui répondrai. Je serai avec lui dans les problèmes. Je le délivrerai et l'honorerai.
16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.
Je le comblerai par une longue vie, et lui montrer mon salut. »
