Psalms 89
1 Maschil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.
Nitimba sifa za matendo ya uaminifu wa agano milele. Nitatangaza kweli yako kwa vizazi vijavyo.
2 For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: thy faithfulness wilt thou establish in the very heavens.
Maana nimesema, “Uaminifu wa agano umeimarishwa milele; na kweli yako umeiimarisha mbinguni.”
3 I have made a covenant with my chosen, I have sworn to David my servant,
“Nimefanya agano na wateule wangu, nimeapa kiapo kwa Daudi mtumishi wangu.
4 Thy seed will I establish for ever, and build up thy throne to all generations. (Selah)
Nitauimarisha uzao wako milele, na nitauimarisha utawala wako vizazi vyote.” (Selah)
5 And the heavens shall praise thy wonders, O LORD; thy faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
Mbingu husifu maajabu yako, Yahwe; kweli yako inasifiwa katika kusanyiko la watakatifu.
6 For who in the heaven can be compared to the LORD? [who] among the sons of the mighty can be likened to the LORD?
Maana ni nani katika mbingu aweza kulinganishwa na Yahwe? Ambaye kati ya wana wa miungu ni kama Yahwe?
7 God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be had in reverence by all [them that are] about him.
Ni Mungu anaye heshimiwa sana katika baraza la watakatifu naye ni wakutisha kati ya wote wanao mzunguka.
8 O LORD God of hosts, who [is] a strong LORD like to thee? or to thy faithfulness around thee?
Yahwe, Mungu wa majeshi, ni nani aliye na nguvu kama wewe, Yahwe? Kweli yako inakuzunguka.
9 Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when its waves arise, thou stillest them.
Wewe huitawala bahari yenye nguvu; mawimbi yainukapo, wewe huyatuliza.
10 Thou hast broken Rahab in pieces, as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thy enemies with thy strong arm.
Ulimwangamiza Rahabu kama mmoja aliye uliwa. Uliwatawanya adui zako kwa mkono wako wenye nguvu.
11 The heavens [are] thine, the earth also [is] thine: [as for] the world, and the fullness of it, thou hast founded them.
Mbingu ni zako wewe, na nchi pia. Uliiumba dunia na vyote vilivyomo.
12 The north and the south thou hast created them: Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in thy name.
Uliumba kaskazini na kusini. Tabori na Hermoni hulifurahia jina lako.
13 Thou hast a mighty arm: strong is thy hand, [and] high is thy right hand.
una mkono wa uweza na mkono wenye nguvu, na mkono wako wa kuume uko juu.
14 Justice and judgment [are] the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face.
Haki na hukumu ni msingi wa kiti chako. Uaminifu wa agano lako na uaminifu huja mbele zako.
15 Blessed [are] the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.
Wamebarikiwa watu wakuabuduo wewe! Yahwe, wanatembea katika nuru ya uso wako.
16 In thy name shall they rejoice all the day: and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.
Siku zote wanafurahia katika jina lako, na katika haki yako wanakutukuza wewe.
17 For thou [art] the glory of their strength: and in thy favor our horn shall be exalted.
Wewe ni fahari ya nguvu zao, na kwa nguvu zako tu washindi.
18 For the LORD [is] our defense; and the Holy One of Israel [is] our king.
Maana ngao zetu ni za kwako Yahwe; mfalme wetu ni wa Mtakatifu wa Israeli.
19 Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one, and say, I have laid help upon [one that is] mighty; I have exalted [one] chosen out of the people.
Muda mrefu uliopita ulizungumza na waaminfu wako katika maono; ulisema, “Nimeweka taji juu ya mwenye nguvu; nimemuinua aliyechaguliwa kutoka kati ya watu.
20 I have found David my servant; with my holy oil have I anointed him:
Nimemchagua Daudi mtumishi wangu; kwa mafuta yangu matakatifu nimempaka yeye.
21 With whom my hand shall be established: my arm also shall strengthen him.
Mkono wangu utamsaidia yeye; mkono wangu utamtia nguvu.
22 The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him.
Hakuna adui atakaye mdanganya; hakuna mwana wa uovu atakaye muonea.
23 And I will beat down his foes before his face, and afflict them that hate him.
Nitawaangamiza adui zake mbele yake; nitawaua wale wamchukiao.
24 But my faithfulness and my mercy [shall be] with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted.
Kweli yangu na uaminifu wa agano vitakuwa pamoja naye; kupitia jina langu atakuwa mshindi.
25 I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers.
Nitaweka mkono wake juu ya bahari na mkono wake wa kuume juu ya mito.
26 He shall cry to me, Thou [art] my father, my God, and the rock of my salvation.
Yeye ataniita, 'Wewe ni Baba yangu, Mungu wangu, na mwamba wa wokovu wangu.'
27 Also I will make him [my] first-born, higher than the kings of the earth.
Nitamjalia kuwa kama mzaliwa wangu wa kwanza, aliye inuliwa zaidi juu ya wafalme wa nchi.
28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him.
Nitaongeza uaminifu wa agano langu kwake milele; na agano langu pamoja naye litakuwa salama.
29 His seed also will I make [to endure] for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
Nitaufanya uzao wake kudumu milele na kiti chake cha enzi kitadumu kama mbingu zilizo juu.
30 If his children forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments;
Ikiwa watoto wake wataziacha sheria zangu na kutokutii amri zangu,
31 If they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments;
na kama watazivunja sheria zangu na kutokuzishika amri zangu,
32 Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
ndipo nitauadhiu uasi wao kwa fimbo na uovu wao kwa makofi.
33 Nevertheless my loving-kindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.
Lakini sitauondoa kwake upendo wangu thabiti wala kutokuwa mwaminifu kwa ahadi yangu.
34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that hath gone out of my lips.
Sitavunja agano langu wala kubadilisha maneno ya midomoni mwangu.
35 Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie to David.
Mara moja na kwa yote, nimeapa kwa utakatifu wangu sitamdanganya Daudi:
36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
uzao wake utaendelea milele na kiti chake cha enzi kama vile jua mbele yangu.
37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and [as] a faithful witness in heaven. (Selah)
Kitaimarishwa milele kama mwezi, shahidi mwaminifu mawinguni.” (Selah)
38 But thou hast cast off and abhorred, thou hast been wroth with thy anointed.
Lakini wewe umemtupa na kumkataa; umemkasirikia mfalme mpakwa mafuta wako.
39 Thou hast made void the covenant of thy servant: thou hast profaned his crown [by casting it] to the ground.
Wewe umelikataa agano la mtumishi wako. Umeinajisi taji yake ardhini.
40 Thou hast broken down all his hedges; thou hast brought his strong holds to ruin.
Umevunja kuta zake zote. Umeharibu ngome yake.
41 All that pass by the way plunder him: he is a reproach to his neighbors.
Wapita njia wote wamemuibia, amekuwa kitu chenye kinyaa kwa majirani zake.
42 Thou hast set up the right hand of his adversaries; thou hast made all his enemies to rejoice.
Umeinua mkono wa kuume wa adui zake; umewafurahisha adui zake wote.
43 Thou hast also turned the edge of his sword, and hast not made him to stand in the battle.
Umeyageuza makali ya upanga wake. Na hukumfanya asimame awapo vitani.
44 Thou hast made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
Umeimaliza fahari yake; umekitupa ardhini kiti chake cha enzi.
45 The days of his youth hast thou shortened: thou hast covered him with shame. (Selah)
Umefupisha siku za ujana wake. Umemfunika kwa aibu. (Selah)
46 How long, LORD, wilt thou hide thyself? for ever? shall thy wrath burn like fire?
Mpaka lini, Yahwe? utajificha, milele? Mpaka lini hasira yako itawaka kama moto?
47 Remember how short my time is: why hast thou made all men in vain?
Oh, fikiria jinsi muda wangu ulivyo mfupi, na ni kwa ajili gani umewaumba wana wote wa wanadamu wasio na manufaa!
48 What man [is he that] liveth, and shall not see death? shall he deliver his soul from the hand of the grave? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
Ni nani aweza kuishi na asife, au atakaye iokoa nafsi yake dhidi ya mkono wa kuzimu? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 LORD, where [are] thy former loving-kindnesses, [which] thou didst swear to David in thy truth?
Bwana, yako wapi matendo yako ya zamani ya uaminifu wa agano ambayo ulimwapia Daudi katika kweli yako?
50 Remember, LORD, the reproach of thy servants; [how] I do bear in my bosom [the reproach of] all the mighty people;
Kumbuka, Bwana, watumishi wako walivyodhihakiwa na vile nilivyo vumilia moyoni mwangu matusi mengi dhidi ya mataifa.
51 With which thy enemies have reproached, O LORD; with which they have reproached the footsteps of thy anointed
Maadui zako wanavurumiza matusi, Yahwe; wanadhihaki nyayo za mpakwa mafuta wako.
52 Blessed [be] the LORD for evermore. Amen and amen.
