Psalms 79

1 A Psalm of Asaph. O God, the heathen have come into thy inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

١ مَزْمُورٌ. لِآسَافَ اَللَّهُمَّ، إِنَّ ٱلْأُمَمَ قَدْ دَخَلُوا مِيرَاثَكَ. نَجَّسُوا هَيْكَلَ قُدْسِكَ. جَعَلُوا أُورُشَلِيمَ أَكْوَامًا.

2 The dead bodies of thy servants have they given [to be] food to the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints, to the beasts of the earth.

٢ دَفَعُوا جُثَثَ عَبِيدِكَ طَعَامًا لِطُيُورِ ٱلسَّمَاءِ، لَحْمَ أَتْقِيَائِكَ لِوُحُوشِ ٱلْأَرْضِ.

3 Their blood have they shed like water around Jerusalem; and [there was] none to bury [them].

٣ سَفَكُوا دَمَهُمْ كَٱلْمَاءِ حَوْلَ أُورُشَلِيمَ، وَلَيْسَ مَنْ يَدْفِنُ.

4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to them that are around us.

٤ صِرْنَا عَارًا عِنْدَ جِيرَانِنَا، هُزْءًا وَسُخْرَةً لِلَّذِينَ حَوْلَنَا.

5 How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

٥ إِلَى مَتَى يَارَبُّ تَغْضَبُ كُلَّ ٱلْغَضَبِ، وَتَتَّقِدُ كَٱلنَّارِ غَيْرَتُكَ؟

6 Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

٦ أَفِضْ رِجْزَكَ عَلَى ٱلْأُمَمِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعْرِفُونَكَ، وَعَلَى ٱلْمَمَالِكِ ٱلَّتِي لَمْ تَدْعُ بِٱسْمِكَ،

7 For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling-place.

٧ لِأَنَّهُمْ قَدْ أَكَلُوا يَعْقُوبَ وَأَخْرَبُوا مَسْكَنَهُ.

8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily succor us: for we are brought very low.

٨ لَا تَذْكُرْ عَلَيْنَا ذُنُوبَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ. لِتَتَقَدَّمْنَا مَرَاحِمُكَ سَرِيعًا، لِأَنَّنَا قَدْ تَذَلَّلْنَا جِدًّا.

9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

٩ أَعِنَّا يَا إِلَهَ خَلَاصِنَا مِنْ أَجْلِ مَجْدِ ٱسْمِكَ، وَنَجِّنَا وَٱغْفِرْ خَطَايَانَا مِنْ أَجْلِ ٱسْمِكَ.

10 Why should the heathen say, Where [is] their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight [by] avenging the blood of thy servants [which is] shed.

١٠ لِمَاذَا يَقُولُ ٱلْأُمَمُ: «أَيْنَ هُوَ إِلَهُهُمْ؟». لِتُعْرَفْ عِنْدَ ٱلْأُمَمِ قُدَّامَ أَعْيُنِنَا نَقْمَةُ دَمِ عَبِيدِكَ ٱلْمُهْرَاقِ.

11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

١١ لِيَدْخُلْ قُدَّامَكَ أَنِينُ ٱلْأَسِيرِ. كَعَظَمَةِ ذِرَاعِكَ ٱسْتَبْقِ بَنِي ٱلْمَوْتِ.

12 And render to our neighbors seven-fold into their bosom their reproach, with which they have reproached thee, O LORD.

١٢ وَرُدَّ عَلَى جِيرَانِنَا سَبْعَةَ أَضْعَافٍ فِي أَحْضَانِهِمِ ٱلْعَارَ ٱلَّذِي عَيَّرُوكَ بِهِ يَارَبُّ.

13 So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will show forth thy praise to all generations.

١٣ أَمَّا نَحْنُ شَعْبُكَ وَغَنَمُ رِعَايَتِكَ نَحْمَدُكَ إِلَى ٱلدَّهْرِ. إِلَى دَوْرٍ فَدَوْرٍ نُحَدِّثُ بِتَسْبِيحِكَ.
