< Psalms 74 >
1 Maschil of Asaph. O God, why hast thou cast [us] off for ever? [why] doth thy anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture?
Thaburi ya Asafu Wee Ngai-rĩ, nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũtũtiganĩrie nginya tene? Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmaga marakara maku macine ngʼondu cia rũũru rwaku?
2 Remember thy congregation, [which] thou hast purchased of old: the rod of thy inheritance, [which] thou hast redeemed; this mount Zion, in which thou hast dwelt.
Ririkana andũ arĩa wegũrĩire o tene, arĩa wakũũrire magĩtuĩka mũhĩrĩga ũrĩa wegaĩire, na ũririkane Kĩrĩma gĩa Zayuni, o kũrĩa watũũrĩte.
3 Lift up thy feet to the perpetual desolations; [even] all [that] the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary.
Erekeria makinya maku kũrĩ mwanangĩko ũyũ ũtũũrĩte kuo, wone ũrĩa handũ harĩa haku haamũre hathũkangĩtio nĩ thũ.
4 Thy enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns [for] signs.
Amuku aku mararamĩire harĩa wacemanĩirie na ithuĩ; maahaandire bendera ciao irĩ imenyithia.
5 [A man] was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees.
Metuĩte ta andũ mekũhiũria mathanwa mateme mĩtĩ ya mũtitũ.
6 But now they break down the carved work of it at once with axes and hammers.
Mbaũ iria ciothe ciagemetio magĩciunanga na mathanwa na ibũi ciao.
7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled [by casting down] the dwelling-place of thy name to the ground.
Nĩmacinire handũ-haku-harĩa-haamũre hakĩmomoka, magĩthaahia gĩikaro kĩa Rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land.
Moigire atĩrĩ na ngoro ciao, “Tũkũmahehenja mathire!” Maacinire handũ harĩa hothe Mũrungu aahooyagĩrwo kũu bũrũri-inĩ.
9 We see not our signs: [there is] no more any prophet: neither [is there] among us any that knoweth how long.
Gũtirĩ ciama tũringagĩrwo mahinda maya; anabii nĩmathirĩte, na gũtirĩ witũ ũũĩ nĩ nginya rĩ gũgũikara ũguo.
10 O God, how long shall the adversary reproach? shall the enemy blaspheme thy name for ever?
Wee Ngai, thũ ĩgũtũũra ĩgũthirĩkagia nginya rĩ? Mũmuku no atũũre acambagia rĩĩtwa rĩaku nginya tene?
11 Why withdrawest thou thy hand, even thy right hand? pluck [it] out of thy bosom.
Nĩ kĩĩ gĩtũmĩte ũthune guoko gwaku, o guoko kũu gwaku kwa ũrĩo? Kũrute mĩkũnjo-inĩ ya nguo ciaku ũmaniine!
12 For God [is] my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth.
No rĩrĩ, Wee Ngai, nĩwe mũthamaki wakwa kuuma tene; nĩwĩkaga maũndũ ma kũhonokania gũkũ thĩ.
13 Thou didst divide the sea by thy strength: thou didst break the heads of the dragons in the waters.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wagayanirie iria na ũhoti waku, ũkĩhehenja mĩtwe ya nyamũ iria nene kũu maaĩ-inĩ.
14 Thou didst break the head of leviathan in pieces, [and] didst give him [to be] food to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wahehenjire mĩtwe ya Leviathani, ũkĩmĩheana ĩtuĩke irio cia ciũmbe cia werũ-inĩ.
15 Thou didst cleave the fountain and the flood: thou didst dry up mighty rivers.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe watũmire ithima itherũke na tũrũũĩ tũtherere, ũkĩhũithia njũũĩ iria itahũaga.
16 The day [is] thine, the night also [is] thine: thou hast prepared the light and the sun.
Mũthenya nĩ waku o na ũtukũ no waku; Wee nĩwe wahaandire riũa na mweri.
17 Thou hast set all the borders of the earth: thou hast made summer and winter.
Wee-rĩ, nĩwe wekĩrire mĩhaka yothe ya thĩ; nĩwe watũmire kũgĩe hĩndĩ ya riũa na hĩndĩ ya heho.
18 Remember this, the enemy hath reproached, O LORD, and the foolish people have blasphemed thy name.
Ririkana ũrĩa thũ ĩkũnyũrũrĩtie, Wee Jehova, na ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu macambĩtie rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
19 O deliver not the soul of thy turtle dove to the multitude [of the wicked]: forget not the congregation of thy poor for ever.
Ndũkaneane muoyo wa ndirahũgĩ yaku kũrĩ nyamũ cia gĩthaka; ndũkariganĩrwo nĩ mĩoyo ya andũ aku arĩa manyariirĩtwo nginya tene.
20 Have respect to the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
Ririkana kĩrĩkanĩro gĩaku, tondũ kũndũ guothe kũrĩa kũrĩ nduma bũrũri-inĩ kũiyũrĩte haaro.
21 O let not the oppressed return ashamed: let the poor and needy praise thy name.
Ndũkareke mũndũ ũrĩa mũhinyĩrĩrie acooke na thuutha aconokete; andũ arĩa athĩĩni na arĩa abatari nĩmagooce rĩĩtwa rĩaku.
22 Arise, O God, plead thy own cause: remember how the foolish man reproacheth thee daily.
Arahũka, Wee Ngai, ũrũgamĩrĩre kĩhooto gĩaku; ririkana ũrĩa andũ arĩa akĩĩgu magũthirĩkagia mũthenya wothe.
23 Forget not the voice of thy enemies: the tumult of those that rise against thee increaseth continually.
Ndũkariganĩrwo nĩ mbugĩrĩrio ya amuku aku, o inegene rĩa thũ ciaku, rĩrĩa iranegena itegũtigithĩria.
