< Psalms 73 >

1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.
Faarfannaa Asaaf. Dhugumaan Waaqni Israaʼeliif, warra garaan isaanii qulqulluu taʼeef gaarii dha.
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
Ani garuu miilli koo gufachuu gaʼee, faanni koos mucucaachuu gaʼee ture.
3 For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Ani yommuun badhaadhummaa hamootaa argetti, of tuultotatti hinaafeen tureetii.
4 For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.
Isaan hin dhiphatan; dhagni isaaniis fayyaa dha; cimaa dhas.
5 They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they afflicted like [other] men.
Rakkinni nama biraatti dhufu isaanitti hin dhufu; isaan akka namoota kaanii dhukkubaan hin dhaʼaman.
6 Therefore pride encompasseth them as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.
Kanaafuu of tuulummaan faaya morma isaanii ti; fincilas akka wayyaatti uffatu.
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Iji isaanii coomee alatti dhiibama; hamminni isaan garaatti yaadan dhuma hin qabu.
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.
Isaan ni qoosu; hamminas ni dubbatu; of tuulaa cunqursaadhaan nama doorsisu.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
Afaan isaanii samii falmata; arrabni isaaniis lafa dhaala.
10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.
Kanaafuu sabni gara isaaniitti dachaʼee bishaan baayʼee dhuga.
11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?
Isaanis, “Waaqni akkamitti beekuu dandaʼaa? Waaqni Waan Hundaa Olii beekumsa qabaa?” jedhu.
12 Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.
Egaa namoonni hamoon akkana; isaan yeroo hunda yaaddoo malee jiraatu; badhaadhummaanis guddachaa deemu.
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocence.
Yoos ani akkasumaan garaa koo qulqullinaan eeggadhee harka koos akkasumaan dhiqadhe kaa!
14 For all the day long have I been afflicted, and chastened every morning.
Ani guyyaa guutuu dhaʼameera; ganama ganamas adabameera.
15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.
Ani utuu, “Akkana nan dubbadha” jedhee jiraadhee silaa ijoollee kee nan yakkan ture.
16 When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;
Garuu yommuu ani waan kana hunda hubachuu yaaletti, wanni kun hojii dadhabsiisaa natti taʼe.
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] I understood their end.
Kunis hamma ani iddoo qulqullummaa Waaqaa seenutti ture; ergasiis ani galgala isaanii nan hubadhe.
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou didst cast them down into destruction.
Dhugumaan ati iddoo mucucaataa irra isaan dhaabde; akka isaan kufanii caccabaniifis gad isaan darbatte.
19 How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
Isaan akkamiin guutumaan guutuutti sodaadhaan fudhatamanii akkuma tasaa barbadaaʼan!
20 As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O LORD, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.
Akkuma abjuun yeroo namni hirribaa dammaqutti taʼu sana, atis yaa Gooftaa, akkasuma yommuu ol kaatu, hawwii garaa isaanii ni busheessita.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
Yommuu lubbuun koo gadditee onneen koos waraanamtetti,
22 So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.
ani gowwaa fi wallaalaan ture; fuula kee durattis akka horii nan taʼe.
23 Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast held [me] by my right hand.
Taʼus ani yeroo hunda si wajjinan jira; atis harka koo mirgaa ni qabda.
24 Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.
Ati gorsa keetiin na qajeelchita; ergasii immoo ulfinatti na galchita.
25 Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire besides thee.
Ani samii keessaa eenyunan qaba? Lafa irraas si malee homaa hin fedhu.
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Foon koo fi onneen koo dadhabuu dandaʼu; Waaqni garuu jabina garaa koo ti; bara baraanis inni qooda koo.
27 For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go astray from thee.
Warri sirraa fagoo jiran ni badu; atis warra siif hin amanamne hunda ni balleessita.
28 But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
Akka ani yaadutti garuu Waaqatti dhiʼaachuun gaarii dha; Waaqayyo Gooftaa daʼoo koo godhadheera; ani hojii kee hunda nan labsa.
