Psalms 73
1 A Psalm of Asaph. Truly God [is] good to Israel, [even] to such as are of a clean heart.
আসফের গীত। নিশ্চয়, ঈশ্বর ইস্রায়েলের পক্ষে মঙ্গলময়, যারা হৃদয়ে শুদ্ধ তাদের পক্ষে।
2 But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
কিন্তু আমার পা প্রায় পিছলে গিয়েছিল; আমার পা রাখার জায়গা আমি প্রায় হারিয়েছিলাম।
3 For I was envious at the foolish, [when] I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
আমি যখন দুষ্টদের সমৃদ্ধি দেখলাম, তখন দাম্ভিকের প্রতি ঈর্ষা করলাম।
4 For [there are] no bands in their death: but their strength [is] firm.
তাদের জীবনে কোনো কষ্ট নেই; তাদের শরীর সুস্থ আর শক্তিশালী।
5 They [are] not in trouble [as other] men; neither are they afflicted like [other] men.
মানুষের সাধারণ বোঝা থেকে তারা মুক্ত; মানবিক সমস্যার দ্বারা তারা জর্জরিত হয় না।
6 Therefore pride encompasseth them as a chain; violence covereth them [as] a garment.
সেইজন্য অহংকার তাদের গলার হার; তারা হিংসায় নিজেদের আবৃত করে।
7 Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
তাদের অনুভূতিহীন হৃদয় থেকে অন্যায় বেরিয়ে আসে; তাদের দুষ্ট কল্পনার কোনো সীমা নেই।
8 They are corrupt, and speak wickedly [concerning] oppression: they speak loftily.
তারা উপহাস করে, আক্রোশে কথা বলে; দাম্ভিকতায় তারা অত্যাচারের হুমকি দেয়।
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
তাদের মুখ স্বর্গের বিরুদ্ধে গর্ব করে, আর তাদের জিভ জগতের অধিকার নেয়।
10 Therefore his people return hither: and waters of a full [cup] are wrung out to them.
সেইজন্য তাদের লোকেরা তাদের দিকে ফেরে আর প্রচুর জলপান করে।
11 And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the Most High?
তারা বলে, “ঈশ্বর কীভাবে জানবে? পরাৎপর কি কিছু জানে?”
12 Behold, these [are] the ungodly, who prosper in the world; they increase [in] riches.
দুষ্ট লোকেদের দিকে দেখো— সর্বদা তারা আরামে জীবনযাপন করে আর তাদের ধনসম্পত্তি বৃদ্ধি পায়।
13 Verily I have cleansed my heart [in] vain, and washed my hands in innocence.
বৃথাই আমি আমার হৃদয় বিশুদ্ধ রেখেছি আর সরলতায় আমার হাত পরিষ্কার করেছি।
14 For all the day long have I been afflicted, and chastened every morning.
সারাদিন ধরে আমি পীড়িত হয়েছি, আর প্রতিটি সকাল নতুন শাস্তি নিয়ে এসেছে।
15 If I say, I will speak thus; behold, I should offend [against] the generation of thy children.
যদি আমি এভাবে অপরদের প্রতি কথা বলতাম, তোমার ছেলেমেয়েদের প্রতি আমি বিশ্বাসঘাতকতা করতাম।
16 When I thought to know this, it [was] too painful for me;
যখন আমি এসব বোঝার চেষ্টা করলাম, তা আমাকে গভীর কষ্ট দিল
17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; [then] I understood their end.
যতক্ষণ না পর্যন্ত আমি ঈশ্বরের পবিত্রস্থানে প্রবেশ করলাম; তখন আমি তাদের শেষ পরিণতি বুঝতে পারলাম।
18 Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou didst cast them down into destruction.
নিশ্চয়ই তুমি তাদের পিচ্ছিল জমিতে রেখেছ; তুমি তাদের বিনাশের উদ্দেশে নিক্ষেপ করেছ।
19 How are they [brought] into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors.
হঠাৎ তারা ধ্বংস হয়, সন্ত্রাসে সম্পূর্ণ ধুয়ে মুছে যায়!
20 As a dream when [one] awaketh; [so], O LORD, when thou awakest, thou wilt despise their image.
ঘুম ভাঙলে যেমন স্বপ্ন তুচ্ছ হয়; তেমনি, হে প্রভু, তুমি জেগে উঠলে তাদের কল্পনাকে তুচ্ছ করবে।
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was pricked in my reins.
যখন আমার হৃদয় ক্ষুণ্ণ হয়েছিল আর আমার আত্মা তিক্ত হয়েছিল,
22 So foolish [was] I, and ignorant: I was [as] a beast before thee.
আমি অচেতন আর অজ্ঞ ছিলাম; তোমার সামনে আমি নিষ্ঠুর বন্যপশু ছিলাম।
23 Nevertheless I [am] continually with thee: thou hast held [me] by my right hand.
তবুও আমি সর্বদা তোমার সঙ্গে আছি; তুমি আমার ডান হাত ধরে রেখেছ।
24 Thou wilt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me [to] glory.
তোমার উপদেশে তুমি আমাকে পথ দেখাবে, এবং অবশেষে আমাকে মহিমায় নিয়ে যাবে।
25 Whom have I in heaven [but thee]? and [there is] none upon earth [that] I desire besides thee.
তুমি ছাড়া স্বর্গে আমার আর কে আছে? তুমি ছাড়া জগতে আর কিছুই আমি কামনা করি না।
26 My flesh and my heart faileth: [but] God [is] the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
আমার মাংস আর আমার অন্তর ব্যর্থ হতে পারে, কিন্তু ঈশ্বর আমার হৃদয়ের শক্তি আর আমার চিরকালের উত্তরাধিকার।
27 For lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go astray from thee.
যারা তোমার থেকে দূরবর্তী তারা বিনষ্ট হবে; যারা তোমার প্রতি অবিশ্বস্ত তাদের সবাইকে তুমি ধ্বংস করবে।
28 But [it is] good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের কাছে থাকা আমার জন্য ভালো। সার্বভৌম সদাপ্রভুকে আমি আমার আশ্রয় করেছি; আমি তোমার সমস্ত কাজের প্রচার করব।
