Psalms 71
1 In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion.
En toi, Yahvé, je trouve refuge. Ne me laisse jamais être déçu.
2 Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thy ear to me, and save me.
Délivre-moi dans ta justice, et sauve-moi. Prêtez l'oreille et sauvez-moi.
3 Be thou my strong habitation, to which I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou [art] my rock and my fortress.
Sois pour moi un rocher de refuge où je puisse toujours aller. Donne l'ordre de me sauver, car tu es mon rocher et ma forteresse.
4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, from the hand of the unrighteous and cruel man.
Sauve-moi, mon Dieu, de la main des méchants, de la main de l'homme injuste et cruel.
5 For thou [art] my hope, O LORD God: [thou art] my trust from my youth.
Car tu es mon espérance, Seigneur Yahvé, ma confiance de ma jeunesse.
6 By thee have I been sustained from my birth: thou art he that brought me into life: my praise [shall be] continually of thee.
J'ai compté sur toi depuis le ventre de ma mère. Tu es celui qui m'a sorti du ventre de ma mère. Je vous louerai toujours.
7 I am as a wonder to many; but thou [art] my strong refuge.
Je suis une merveille pour beaucoup, mais tu es mon fort refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled [with] thy praise [and with] thy honor all the day.
Ma bouche sera remplie de tes louanges, avec votre honneur toute la journée.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Ne me rejette pas dans ma vieillesse. Ne m'abandonne pas quand mes forces faiblissent.
10 For my enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,
Car mes ennemis parlent de moi. Ceux qui veillent sur mon âme conspirent ensemble,
11 Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for [there is] none to deliver [him].
disant: « Dieu l'a abandonné. Poursuivez-le et prenez-le, car personne ne le sauvera. »
12 O God, be not far from me: O my God, make haste for my help.
Dieu, ne t'éloigne pas de moi. Mon Dieu, dépêchez-vous de m'aider.
13 Let them be confounded [and] consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered [with] reproach and dishonor that seek my hurt.
Que mes accusateurs soient déçus et consumés. Qu'ils soient couverts d'opprobre et de mépris ceux qui veulent me nuire.
14 But I will hope continually, and will yet praise thee more and more.
Mais j'espère toujours, et s'ajoutera à toutes vos louanges.
15 My mouth shall show forth thy righteousness [and] thy salvation all the day; for I know not the numbers [thereof].
Ma bouche racontera ta justice, et de votre salut toute la journée, bien que je n'en connaisse pas toute la mesure.
16 I will go in the strength of the Lord GOD: I will make mention of thy righteousness, [even] of thine only.
Je viendrai avec les actes puissants du Seigneur Yahvé. Je ferai mention de ta justice, même de la tienne seule.
17 O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works.
Dieu, tu m'as enseigné dès ma jeunesse. Jusqu'à présent, j'ai déclaré tes merveilles.
18 Now also when I am old and gray-headed, O God, forsake me not; until I have shown thy strength to [this] generation, [and] thy power to every one [that] is to come.
Oui, même quand je serai vieux et que j'aurai des cheveux blancs, Dieu, ne m'abandonne pas, jusqu'à ce que je déclare ta force à la prochaine génération, ta puissance à tous ceux qui viendront.
19 Thy righteousness also, O God, [is] very high, who hast done great things: O God, who [is] like to thee!
Dieu, ta justice atteint aussi les cieux. Vous avez fait de grandes choses. Dieu, qui est comme toi?
20 [Thou], who hast shown me great and severe troubles, wilt revive me again, and wilt bring me again from the depths of the earth.
Toi, qui nous as fait connaître de nombreuses et amères souffrances, tu me laisseras vivre. Tu nous feras remonter des profondeurs de la terre.
21 Thou wilt increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.
Augmentez mon honneur et me réconforter à nouveau.
22 I will also praise thee with the psaltery, [even] thy truth, O my God: to thee will I sing with the harp, O thou Holy One of Israel.
Je te louerai aussi avec la harpe pour ta fidélité, mon Dieu. Je te chante des louanges avec la lyre, Saint d'Israël.
23 My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to thee; and my soul, which thou hast redeemed.
Mes lèvres crient de joie! Mon âme, que tu as rachetée, te chante des louanges!
24 My tongue also shall talk of thy righteousness all the day long: for they are confounded, for they are brought to shame, that seek my hurt.
Ma langue parlera aussi de ta justice tout le jour, car ils sont déçus, et ils sont confus, qui veulent me faire du mal.
