Psalms 63
1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou [art] my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psaume de David, lorsqu’il était dans le désert de Juda. Dieu, tu es mon Dieu, que je recherche avidement; mon âme a soif de toi, mon être te désire passionnément, sur un sol aride, altéré, sans eau.
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Puissé-je donc te contempler dans le sanctuaire, voir ta puissance et ta gloire!
3 Because thy loving-kindness [is] better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Car ta grâce vaut mieux que la vie: mes lèvres proclament tes louanges.
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
De la sorte, je te bénirai ma vie durant, en invoquant ton nom je lèverai mes mains.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as [with] marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise [thee] with joyful lips:
Mon âme sera rassasiée comme de graisse et de moelle, et ma bouche te glorifiera en un langage enthousiaste,
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, [and] meditate on thee in the [night] watches.
lorsque je me souviendrai de toi sur ma couche, et penserai à toi dans les veilles de la nuit.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Car tu seras devenu un appui pour moi, et je chanterai à l’ombre de tes ailes.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Mon âme te sera fidèlement attachée; ta droite forme mon soutien.
9 But those [that] seek my soul to destroy [it], shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Mais ceux qui, pour leur malheur, attentent à ma vie, descendront dans les derniers dessous de la terre.
10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
On les jettera sur le tranchant de l’épée, ils deviendront la proie des chacals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
Quant au Roi, il se réjouira en Dieu; quiconque jure par Lui pourra se glorifier, alors que la bouche des menteurs sera close.
