Psalms 63
1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou [art] my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
Psaume de David. Lorsqu’il était dans le désert de Juda. O Dieu, tu es mon Dieu, je te cherche dès l’aurore; mon âme a soif de toi, ma chair languit après toi, dans une terre aride, desséchée et sans eau.
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so [as] I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
C’est ainsi que je te contemplais dans le sanctuaire, pour voir ta puissance et ta gloire.
3 Because thy loving-kindness [is] better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Car ta grâce est meilleure que la vie: que mes lèvres célèbrent tes louanges!
4 Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
Ainsi te bénirai-je toute ma vie, en ton nom j’élèverai mes mains.
5 My soul shall be satisfied as [with] marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise [thee] with joyful lips:
Mon âme est rassasiée, comme de mœlle et de graisse, et, la joie sur les lèvres, ma bouche te loue.
6 When I remember thee upon my bed, [and] meditate on thee in the [night] watches.
Quand je pense à toi sur ma couche, je médite sur toi pendant les veilles de la nuit.
7 Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Car tu es mon secours, et je suis dans l’allégresse à l’ombre de tes ailes.
8 My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Mon âme est attachée à toi, ta droite me soutient.
9 But those [that] seek my soul to destroy [it], shall go into the lower parts of the earth.
Mais eux, cherchent à m’ôter la vie: ils iront dans les profondeurs de la terre.
10 They shall fall by the sword: they shall be a portion for foxes.
On les livrera au glaive, ils seront la proie des chacals.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by him shall glory: but the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
Et le roi se réjouira en Dieu; quiconque jure par lui se glorifiera, car la bouche des menteurs sera fermée.
