Psalms 62
1 To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him [cometh] my salvation.
Resnično, moja duša čaka na Boga, od njega prihaja rešitev moje duše.
2 He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
Samo on je moja skala in rešitev moje duše, on je moja obramba, ne bom silno omajan.
3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall [shall ye be], [and as] a tottering fence.
Doklej boste zoper človeka domišljali vragolijo? Vsi izmed vas boste umorjeni, kakor usločen zid boste in kakor majajoča se ograja.
4 They only consult to cast [him] down from his excellence: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. (Selah)
Samo posvetujejo se, da ga vržejo dol od njegove odličnosti, veselijo se v lažeh, blagoslavljajo s svojimi usti, toda navznoter preklinjajo. (Sela)
5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation [is] from him.
Moja duša, čakaj samo na Boga, kajti moje pričakovanje je od njega.
6 He only [is] my rock and my salvation: [he is] my defense; I shall not be moved.
Samo on je moja skala in rešitev moje duše. On je moja obramba, ne bom omajan.
7 In God [is] my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, [and] my refuge, [is] in God.
V Bogu je rešitev moje duše in moja slava. Skala moje moči in moje zatočišče je v Bogu.
8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. (Selah)
Ob vseh časih zaupajte vanj, ve ljudstva, svoje srce izlijte pred njim. Bog je za nas zatočišče. (Sela)
9 Surely men of low degree [are] vanity, [and] men of high degree [are] a lie: to be laid in the balance, they [are] altogether [lighter] than vanity.
Ljudje nizkega položaja so zagotovo ničevost in ljudje visokega položaja so laž. Položeni na tehtnico so vsi skupaj lažji kakor ničevost.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart [upon them].
Ne zaupaj v zatiranje in ne postani prazen v ropu. Če bogastva narastejo, svojega srca ne naveži nanje.
11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongeth] to God.
Bog je spregovoril enkrat, to sem slišal dvakrat, da oblast pripada Bogu.
12 Also to thee, O LORD, [belongeth] mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.
Tudi tebi, oh Gospod, pripada usmiljenje, kajti vsakemu človeku povračaš glede na njegovo delo.
