Psalms 62

1 To the chief Musician, to Jeduthun, A Psalm of David. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him [cometh] my salvation.

Ein Psalm Davids für Jeduthun, vorzusingen. Meine Seele sei stille zu Gott, der mir hilft.

2 He only [is] my rock and my salvation; [he is] my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.

Denn er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe, meine Schutz, daß mich kein Fall stürzen wird, wie groß er ist.

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall [shall ye be], [and as] a tottering fence.

Wie lange stellt ihr alle einem nach, daß ihr ihn erwürget-als eine hängende Wand und zerrissene Mauer?

4 They only consult to cast [him] down from his excellence: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. (Selah)

Sie denken nur, wie sie ihn dämpfen, fleißigen sich der Lüge; geben gute Worte, aber im Herzen fluchen sie. (Sela)

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation [is] from him.

Aber sei nur stille zu Gott, meine Seele; denn er ist meine Hoffnung.

6 He only [is] my rock and my salvation: [he is] my defense; I shall not be moved.

Er ist mein Hort, meine Hilfe und mein Schutz, daß ich nicht fallen werde.

7 In God [is] my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, [and] my refuge, [is] in God.

Bei Gott ist mein Heil, meine Ehre, der Fels meiner Stärke; meine Zuversicht ist auf Gott.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God [is] a refuge for us. (Selah)

Hoffet auf ihn allezeit, liebe Leute, schüttet euer Herz vor ihm aus; Gott ist unsre Zuversicht. (Sela)

9 Surely men of low degree [are] vanity, [and] men of high degree [are] a lie: to be laid in the balance, they [are] altogether [lighter] than vanity.

Aber Menschen sind ja nichts, große Leute fehlen auch; sie wiegen weniger denn nichts, so viel ihrer ist.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart [upon them].

Verlasset euch nicht auf Unrecht und Frevel, haltet euch nicht zu solchem, das eitel ist; fällt euch Reichtum zu, so hänget das Herz nicht daran.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power [belongeth] to God.

Gott hat ein Wort geredet, das habe ich etlichemal gehört: daß Gott allein mächtig ist.

12 Also to thee, O LORD, [belongeth] mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Und du, Herr, bist gnädig und bezahlst einem jeglichen, wie er's verdient.
