Psalms 54

1 To the chief Musician on Neginoth, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David, when the Ziphims came and said to Saul, Doth not David hide himself with us? Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me by thy strength.

Jusqu'à la Fin, parmi les hymnes, instruction de David, Quand ceux de Ziph entrèrent, et dirent à Saül: N'as-tu pas vu où David est caché parmi nous? Dieu, sauve-moi par ton nom, et juge-moi par ta puissance!

2 Hear my prayer, O God; give ear to the words of my mouth.

Dieu, écoute ma prière; sois attentif aux paroles de ma bouche!

3 For strangers have risen up against me, and oppressors seek after my soul: they have not set God before them. (Selah)

Car des étrangers se sont élevés contre moi, et des hommes puissants en veulent à ma vie; ils n'ont point eu le Seigneur devant les yeux. (Pause)

4 Behold, God [is] my helper: the LORD [is] with them that uphold my soul.

Et voilà que Dieu me vient en aide, et le Seigneur est le sauveur de mon âme.

5 He will reward evil to my enemies; cut them off in thy truth.

Il fera retomber le mal sur ses ennemis; détruis-les dans ta vérité.

6 I will freely sacrifice to thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for [it is] good.

Je te ferai un sacrifice volontaire; je rendrai grâces à ton nom, Seigneur parce que cela est bien.

7 For he hath delivered me out of all trouble: and my eye hath seen [its desire] upon my enemies.

Car c'est toi qui m'as délivré de toutes mes tribulations, et mon œil a regardé de haut tous mes ennemis.
