< Psalms 40 >
1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined to me, and heard my cry.
Dawid dwom. Mede boasetɔ twɛn Awurade; na ɔhwɛɛ me, na ɔtee me sufrɛ.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, [and] established my goings.
Oyii me fii amoa a mu yɛ toro mu, fii dɔte ne dontori mu; ɔde mʼanan sii ɔbotan so na ɔmaa me baabi pa gyinae.
3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, [even] praise to our God: many shall see [it], and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.
Ɔde dwom foforo hyɛɛ mʼanom, ayeyi dwom a yɛde ma yɛn Nyankopɔn. Bebree behu na wɔasuro, na wɔde wɔn werɛ ahyɛ Awurade mu.
4 Blessed [is] that man that maketh the LORD his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Nhyira ne onipa a ɔde Awurade yɛ nʼahotoso, nea ɔmfa nʼani nto ahomaso so, ne wɔn a wɔman di anyame huhuw akyi.
5 Many, O LORD, my God, [are] thy wonderful works [which] thou hast done, and thy thoughts [which are] toward us, they cannot be reckoned up in order to thee: [if] I would declare and speak [of them], they are more than can be numbered.
Awurade me Nyankopɔn woayɛ anwonwade bebree. Nneɛma a wohyehyɛ maa yɛn no obiara ntumi nka ne nyinaa nkyerɛ wo; sɛ meka se mereka ne nyinaa ho asɛm a ɛbɛdɔɔso dodo.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; my ears hast thou opened: burnt-offering and sin-offering hast thou not required.
Wompɛ afɔrebɔ ne ayɛyɛde, nanso woabue mʼaso; woampɛ ɔhyew afɔre ne bɔne afɔre.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book [it is] written of me,
Na mekae se, “Mini, maba, sɛnea wɔakyerɛw afa me ho wɔ nhoma mmobɔwee no mu no.
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law [is] within my heart.
Me Nyankopɔn, mepɛ sɛ meyɛ wʼapɛde; wo mmara wɔ me koma mu.”
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, thou knowest.
Meka wo trenee ho asɛm wɔ guabɔ kɛse ase; mimmua mʼano, Awurade, sɛnea wunim no.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy loving-kindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
Memmfa wo trenee ho asɛm nsie me koma mu; meka wo nokware ne wo nkwagye ho asɛm. Mankata wʼadɔe ne wo nokware so wɔ guabɔ kɛse no ase.
11 Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O LORD: let thy loving-kindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
Awurade, nyi wʼahummɔbɔ mfi me so; ma wʼadɔe ne wo nokware mmɔ me ho ban daa.
12 For innumerable evils have encompassed me: my iniquities have taken hold upon me, so that I am not able to look up; they are more than the hairs of my head: therefore my heart faileth me.
Ɔhaw bebree atwa me ho ahyia; mʼamumɔyɛ abu afa me so enti minhu ade bio. Ɛdɔɔso sen me ti so nwi, na me koma abotow wɔ me mu.
13 Be pleased, O LORD, to deliver me: O LORD, make haste to help me.
Awurade, ma ɛnsɔ wʼani sɛ wubegye me; Awurade, bra ntɛm bɛboa me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame that wish me evil.
Wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ wokum me no nyinaa, ma wɔn anim ngu ase na wɔnyɛ basaa; ma wɔn a wɔpɛ sɛ mesɛe no mfa aniwu nsan wɔn akyi.
15 Let them be desolate for a reward of their shame that say to me, Aha, aha.
Ma wɔn a wɔka, “Ɔtwea! Ɔtwea!” kyerɛ me no nsan wɔn akyi, esiane wɔn aniwu nti.
16 Let all those that seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee: let such as love thy salvation say continually, The LORD be magnified.
Nanso ma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ wo nyinaa nsɛpɛw wɔn ho na wɔn ani nnye wɔ wo mu; ma wɔn a wɔdɔ wo nkwagye no nka da biara se, “Awurade yɛ ɔkɛse!”
17 But I [am] poor and needy; [yet] the LORD thinketh upon me: thou [art] my help and my deliverer; make no delay, O my God.
Nanso meyɛ ohiani ne mmɔborɔni; ma Awurade nnwen me ho. Wo ne me boafo ne me gyefo; wo ne me Nyankopɔn, bra ntɛm. Wɔde ma dwonkyerɛfo.
